My personal view is that during this period, when jazz-based artists with large-scale arranging skills -- like Mellé, Oliver Nelson, Quincy Jones, Lalo Schifrin, Dave Grusin, Pete Rugolo, Benny Carter, J.J. Johnson and others were at their peak, TV music reached a peak, from which it is unlikely to attain again.
