Nice version of HUMAN ON THE INSIDE connecting the two Chrissies: Chrissie Hynde and Chrissy Amphlett of Divinyls. The song was written by McEntee and Peiken. Mark McEntee was the founder of Divinyls, their guitarist, and writer of most of their songs with Amphlett. You can find Amphlett's version on Divinyls' UNDERWORLD album from 1996.
@@amcmenemy5647 Agreed, and like you, I have a lot of respect for both Chrissies, both tremendous singers and great frontpersons who forged new ground as inspiring, strong performers.

AWESOME TO READ SO MANY COMMENTS ABOUT PPL REFERRING THIS SONG TO THE TV SHOW CUPID! Love that show! Coming up on 20 years when that show debuted. Always hate ABC for canceling it. It was a really brilliant show...great writing, casting, etc...Piven & Marshall really complimented each other. Piven & Sams were too cool as roommates! Very very underrated. It's sad to read, but good that this show ranks close up there as shows canceled before their time. LOVE LIVE CUPID 1998!
La voix est intacte. Leur dernier concert à Paris, salle Pleyel, était incroyable. Le public était un public averti et à l écoute de cette voix magique qui donne des frissons. J ai adoré à 17 ans et 40 ans après, rien n a changé, j aime toujours.
I absolutely love this song, but not only because it sounds wonderful. Its the story she is telling, admitting that this superstar singer is still really a human being, with real feelings, real hurts, real joys, real tears, real laughter. Awesome!
After all, she is only a human inside. This is also what she shows on the clip. Therefore, we just have to undestand the meaning of the song. Thanks for singing this Chrissie!
chrissie i remember your first show in1979 in France in Paris at The Bataclan...my first love...after more 35 years ill refind this whife...perhaps because you...we are now in love....and "human"after "brass in pocket" after "i ll stand by you" thanks for us Chrissie ...
The writer of this song, professional songwiter Shelley Peiken, has just released her debut album and does this song with Chrissie backing. Shelley also performs songs she wrote for others such as Christine Aguilera.
Sent to me in France by a woman my age in the US. We're aging punks. The Chrissie connection in my life has always spooked me a bit. We come from the same place and as I've moved around over the decades, I always seem to be just one degree of separation away from her. I consider that an honor. Really good clip AND of course music. Thank you for posting. Uprated.
Saw Chrissie & Pretenders on the Learning to Crawl tour. Perfect show. But we had to go hang out in the lobby during the opening act The Alarm b/c our eardrums were about to bleed. And I was a sound tech and my date was a guitar player so even our noise tolerance wasn't enough to stand against them.
Wow ... How music can jar the memory... I remember like maybe 1982 ish...3:30 ... the Sheriedan Bar close to Red Rocks {Denver} after the U2 fire show... Dyvinals had opened the show...Playing the piano in the bar with Rick Grossman and in walks a different Chrissie... Looking' like Victorias favorite secret.
Crissie is so real. Her vocal inflections wring out my emotions. You're 70 so. I'm 67, You're rich and famous, I'm just getting by and nobody. What do you say? Do I have a shot?
