***** It's not an affectation. Unless you have big boobs, it's often not worth the discomfort wearing a bra on stage. It can constrict your breathing, cut into your skin, and it's just another layer under the hot lights. Bit of tape, bit of breeze, means more comfort, more freedom, more energy for singing and dancing.
+DR. HOUSE M.D. It's hard to come by rock bands any more, I found Pretty Reckless recently and I was surprised I had not heard of them before, a refreshing band to the least.
ksipnios A couple of months ago I saw Breaking Benjamin and they rocked out... They sounded like they did on their CD's but not the exact same sound... you could tell it wasn't autotuned because it wasn't as studio-production smooth... The same with The Deftones I saw them a few years ago and they rocked out without that damned autotune. I think Rock and Alternative rock bands are the last great musicians. :)
I was coming home from taking my grandkids to school when a song came on the radio by Pretty Reckless called "Follow Me Down". It's the first really great song I've heard in a long while. I got home and immediately looked up the song here on RU-vid, learned it was a female vocalist named Taylor Momsen and have started listening to everything she's done and watching all her acting. Hey, Richard Gould, I'm 68. I love the way she transitions from heavy hard core Ozzy sound to the melodic tender feminine sound. I also love the band. They all work so well together. Thanks!
@@glengardner4818 I just saw a thumbnail with her face and a writing “my parents stole my childhood”. So address all this to your beloved blonde, please.
I really like their guitarist. He comes up with some pretty interesting stuff plus he's so low key. Always kinda in the background and barely even see him in their videos. He has no problem letting the singer shine. It's kinda a refreshing change from all the lead guitar glory hogs out there.
+Jamie Pinson lol? that's refreshing? you know what would be refreshing? having the singer be as low key as the other musicians instead of being the center of the attention
I agree. And the band musicians are pretty stellar too. I just wish they hadn't gone down the childish OVERDONE "dark" "hell" "evil" "satanic", motif, route. I'm not talking about her dressing, or songs like "Take Me Down". That song means what it says. (The darker side of entertainment/Hollywood.) But you don't have to sell your soul to a "has been" stage idea if your great singers and musicians. I'm not talking being "squeaky clean", but this stuff gets old. Just bring us rock n roll, like this video, without all the dark negativity. But damn! What an awesome voice.
I can't get enough of this live, he's so perfect, they are so perfect ! I prefer their live version, that raspy voice 😍😍 I whish I could see them in concert, they are amazing !
Wow I've never heard a woman hard rock scream before! She's got such a rough rock and roll voice, this concert is awesome! The screaming, the guitars loud and heavy and experimental and the audience is great too .. The Pretty Recklesss
Just happened to stumble on the video for 25. Why have I never heard of them before? At least now I have bought all their releases. That crackle in her voice is just....shiver'y. Also nice tape usage :)
Just saw these punks in concert with a few other bands. They were hands down the best there. Girl has a voice (seems to have improved in the last few years from this video), but the rest of the band is nothing to ignore. Some awesome guitar solos. Hope they keep it up.
Me and my friends want to go watch them in concert September and we are super excited and well this got me even more excited cause it looks awesome and I love the music
gemons8 Maybe you try to refer to the image built for her(self)? A singer having such voice, and going with such live rock band...that's not really posing, me thinks.
Taylor Momsen surprises me, she's everything that ''wasn't expected'' of her to be or act like, even for Metal fans, she could be perceived as this thin fragile blonde girl that shouldnt be up on a stage, but once you hear her she's something else. Even if she confuses me when she goes to these dumb tv shows or dresses ''too exagerated'' when she doesnt need to cause she's got the attitude and the voice, she's hardcore, she's great.
I love their performance of Factory Girl in this video, it’s the best version I’ve seen. My god, I am so blown away by her vocal ability. To be able to scream like that... 😲
это первый раз, когда я повёлся на картинку, но слушая вокал, забыл о внешности, это Кортни, это Кобейн, это такое, что окунает в рок 90 х. спасибо вам!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve never heard a voice that so powerfully makes me feel the zeal, gnarly magnificence, booming wildness of Saturday nights at an addictively favorite often visited bar or the ecstatic rapture felt in a newly found little rock establishment stumbled upon out in the middle of nowhere and filled wall to wall with hundreds of souls with one drive inside, to dance and writhe into the wee hours of the night, with a love and lust that is totally fanatically forever true!! All that from the divinely gorgeous Taylor Momsen!! When I listen to her I feel a voice reaching out into the night to wrap me up in a love I ache for ❤️💋❤️💋❤️💋❤️💋❤️💋❤️💋❤️💋❤️💋❤️💋❤️💋❤️💋❤️💋❤️💋
In a sea of garbage, the pretty reckless provide some of the most genuine music these days. Taylor is a phenomenally committed musician (one of the reasons for abandoning a career in acting entirely) and her vocal prowess is second to none. It's a shame that pretty much all the top comments here are centred around her breasts; there is no little to no appreciation of how lucky we are to have a musician like her in this day and age. Almost all the top male vocalists also used their sexuality as preformative elements. Chris (fucking love that guy) Cornell's shirtless performances are a testament to that yet in their case, focus on the singer's body part does not become the sole domineering feature even if it serves as one of the features. I get people find Taylor attractive but the comments could really be a little less like comments from a porn site and more appreciative of the incredible music and artistry we are likely enough to witness.
ive heard both versions of Just Tonight now, both live and studio, and i gotta say i favor this one.. she got so much more feelings in her voice, and the way she drops in her vibrato is much better live.
A spirited and high-energy performance. Kick-ass modern rock. Wish people wouldn't fuckin' wank all over their keyboards, and just enjoy the damn music. It's really bloody sad.
