Let ‘Em Roll, Let ‘Em Roll Can't hold it back anymore Let ‘Em Roll, Let ‘Em Roll Turn away and slam the door I don't care what they're going to say Let the storm rage on The cold never bothered me anyway
Drew Conway: There was a contestant from the 30th season premiere where a contestant named Kelly was called to come on down, first by the announcer and then the host, played plinko and won 23000$.
Does anyone else think she shoulda gotten a bonus cash roll for that? Like make the cars 2k or sumthing and what she rolled she got as well as the car? I mean, she got both bonus rolls as well
I calculate the chance of this happening to be 1/32, or 3.125%. Each die had 3 cars out of 6 possible faces, so each die had a 50% chance of revealing a car after a single roll. This applies to all the dice...so the chances of getting cars on all five dice on a single roll are the same as getting 5 cars in 5 rolls of a single die. So the chances are 1/2 multiplied by itself 5 times, or 1/32. Certainly rare, but not impossible!
If you have three rolls and don't take the money, your odds of winning the car at all are ~51.29%. 3.125% chance of rolling 5 cars on the first roll. 11.71% chance of rolling four cars and then rolling the fifth. 17.57% chance of rolling three cars, then getting the last two. 13.18% chance of rolling 2 cars and then getting the last three. 4.94% chance of rolling 1 car and then getting the other four,. And a 0.74% chance of whiffing on the first roll, but getting all five in two rolls.
THEY'RE SHOULD BE A NEW BONUS RULE FOR LET-EM ROLL!! IF THE CONTESTANT ROLLS 5 CARS ON THE VERY FIRST ROLL-- NOT ONLY DOES THAT PERSON WIN THE CAR 🚙 THEY SHOULD RECEIVE A BONUS OF $50,000 AS WELL.
If there were two cars per die, the odds of that happening is 243:1. Correction, (½)⁵ = (1/32) or 32:1, your probably is correct, just an oversight on my part.
I think if a contestant gets all five cars on the first try and they had other rolls, that they should let them roll them and see how much money they get along with the car.
Bob Barker was much better at hosting the show than Drew Carey. That could have been one of the reasons why there were more winners during Bob Barker's era than in Drew Carey's era.
