I came back here after I learned the heartbreaking news. I’m so glad we got to see this moment. Bob made the show what it is and it’ll never be the same. RIP Bob ❤
Rewatching this in honor of April Fools' Day but more importantly, in honor of the legend that was and always will be Bob Barker. This is probably one of the greatest and most heartwarming pranks ever, seeing a remarkable host return to the stage unexpected. We love you, Bob Barker.
Of all the April Fool's episodes the show has done before and since, this is the best one of them all. Nobody saw it coming. And even at 91 years old (in 2015) and a little slower on the mobility, Bob Barker was still sharp as a tack.
Remember seeing this for the first time. I was just as happy as all the people in the audience that day. It my grandpa had walked back in the door. Every person my age watched him when we were kids. Best part of a sick day from school. Spent basically every summer vacation day watching Bob, then it was out to play.
This was the final Price is Right episode I watched with my grandpa… grandma was there too.. we were all shocked to see bob come out of that wall. 😮 But later on that day.. my grandpa felt worse & went back to the hospital to be admitted to the ICU… only to never come back home & pass away a week later on the 9th.. 😢😢😢
Rest in peace, Bob. I’m 30 and you entertained me through most of my childhood. Especially whenever I was home sick and since mom wouldn’t let me game, you were my entertainment when it was time for the Price is Right. Thank you so much sir!
Before his death, I was looking up April Fools price is right episode and this one was my favorite because of the audience’s reaction. it was fun seeing the already hyped up crowd basically breakdance haha Nowadays, it’s a tearjerker because this was the final time he was ever seen on the PIR stage, and the reactions from the audience feels heartwarming in more ways than one. RIP Bob ❤️
Wow. Just wow. I watched this show since my childhood and I remember Bob Barker hosting this show. He’s like 98 years old now and he’s still got it. The crowd went absolutely wild when it was Bob and not Drew. Best April Fools prank ever!
I remember a previous posting of this video where someone commented something like "After all these years, the man slips into this role like a comfortable old shoe." I couldn't agree more. The Price Is Right theme has been my ringtone on my phone for well over a decade.
It was, I remember reading an article where somebody who works on the show said that after that opening and pricing game he played, after turning the show back over to Drew, Bob went backstage and was thoroughly tired out by that one segment and he said something to the effect of he couldn't do a full show now if he had to.
The Price Is Right's golden age ended with Rod Roddy's death and Bob Barker's retirement. It was nice to see Bob host a part of TPIR. While Drew isn't necessarily a bad host, Bob had a way of connecting with his viewers.
@@jeffreyross71 drew Carey's does an excellent job of host the price is right whether you like it or not I think he's one of the best hosts since Bob Bob Barker left the show the show is still lasting and it's still number one if drew Cary was such a bad Host of the price is right then the show would have been cancelled already everybody who's a fan of Price is Right would have been complaining and probably would have started a petition to save the show and demanded that the show come back So stop complaining because I don't hear no one else complaining about the show but you plus there's a 24-hour a price is right channel where you can see every single bob Barker episode ever he hosted.
I would love it too but I wouldn’t count on it. CBS aired a prime time 50th anniversary celebration and Bob didn’t appear, not even in a recorded video. That’s not a good sign.
Watching this back just a few days after his passing brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for bringing all the joy into my childhood, and my life Bob ❤🙏
If you were sick during a school day, you spent that morning watching Bob Barker!! 10am was so awesome even if you felt like garbage. Bob will be missed!!
The man who was looked forward to by thousands of snow day school kids like myself so many years ago... no teachers and watching carnival games before heading out with the sleds. Many great memories of BB!
He was a part of millions of childhoods. There will never be another like Bob Barker. Now he and Monty Hall can host as many game shows in Heaven as they please. Farewell Mr. Barker.
Only thing that could have made this better would have been to end the intro with "And here is the star of The Price is Right.....Bob Barker!!!!!!!" as the door opened.
@@gr8daynegb Nah. George Grey had to make it like it was business as usual. Notice how surprised the Studio Audience was when they saw it was Bob Barker. It was an April Fool's prank.
I'm 33 yo black female and I got chills and tearing up seeing this man just now, I use to watch this in the mornings with my grandma when my parents dropped me off when they went to work and now i watch it ,back then it came on at 10am central time on Channel 4 lol and still does😂❤loved the memories and Happy Heavenly 100th Birthday Mr. Bob Barker❤🎉
I remember this that wasn’t just any welcome the whole audience gave bob barker an standing ovation I remember seeing this and when I thought I seen bob barker I was so happy this is the man who started the price is right from 1972 to 2007 I grew up watching him but to me that was a great April fool day the whole audience roared gave him an standing ovation that made so happy drew still doing a really good job but that was cool something I will never forget big moment for me because that was huge
A testament to how iconic and well loved this man was. It was it was The Beatles or Elvis had come out. RIP Bob. Thank you for coming into our homes for so many years.
Man he was sharp for 92. My mom is 90 and can't remember what she was doing 10 seconds ago sometimes, my uncle was in his 90's and going to the Olympics in Beijing always chatting about politics and finances (he was on the board for the bank of Redlands CA) up till he died. Being able to still think straight and make jokes like this in your 90's is truly a blessing, though Mr. Barker had a few falls the last few years. Time and age comes for us all I suppose. Enjoy your youth, whatever of it you may have, while you still have it.
Sadly, we lost Bob yesterday morning at the age of 99. It will be moments like that that encapsulate just how legendary this man was -- and that his legacy will carry on forever.
I hate to nerd out over game shows, but TPIR was started as a game show from 1956 to 1965 hosted by Bob Cullen, but this version was only the price guessing game that they now use to determine which contestant would play the pricing games and possibly go to the Showcase, and they didn’t switch out contestants who won with other audience members IIRC. The modernized version with the legendary Bob Barker premiered in 1972 which they called ‘The New Price is Right’ for a bit before dropping the ‘New’. Also I had to Wikipedia most of the details, but I do remember seeing the super old/less hype TPIR eps on Game Show Network back in the late 90s/early 2000s back when it was 90% old game shows. I’m about to check to see if they’re on RU-vid and see how they hold up.
The explosive reaction from the audience when they realized it was Bob and not Drew. And Drew got to watch the legend at work, a rare "continuing education" moment for him. I doubt we'll ever see Bob on TV again given his age and health at this point (2022).
Not many 90 yr Olds get that kind of a reception or people of any age for that matter! If the great Johnny Carson was King of night Television then this man would have to the King of Daytime!
I grew up watching Bob Barker hosting The Price Is Right. My favorite part was watching him walk out on stage at the start of each show 🥰. He was always dressed so classy☺️. A true legend. I sure do miss him 😢.
Happy belated 98th birthday, Bob Barker. It'll be a sad, but also happy day, once you're gone. Because, you left a legacy on television that could never be matched.
This was the very last appearance of Bob Barker, who made the show, the success that it was. This episode is Dedicated To The Loving Memory of Bob Barker! May he #RIP! (1923-2023)!
We need Bob to host an Episode with Drew like the 2023 Christmas Episode, since Bob will be 100 at that point. We need just 1 more Episode with this Legend!!
Let's hope he have some Strength left to do that 🙏Let's go Bob Barker you would make such a impression and make a record Guiness to host a gameshow at 100 years old
Not everyone gets to enjoy their legacy, but Bob Barker damn well got to enjoy his while he was still with us. Rest in peace, man. Try not to play Plinko too hard up there.
I can't believe it Bob Barker is here on $ The Price Is Right April's Fool day. Now this is The Price Is Right moments right here thank you Bob Barker for all the come on down and pet spade and newder speech.
Aww that’s so awesome I so loved Bob and the price is right and so did my Mom who was the same age as Bob and watched him every day May she Rip 🙏 I love you Mom ❤️
