My only worry with De Ligt is that he is still going to be one of the clubs highest earners & when we get UCL it wil go back to £260k/week which if hes injury prone is a worry. But, if Maguire & Lindelof are going then he would be perfect and then there is financial room. We do need leaders and will have Martinez, Dalot & him in that back line hopefully shouting at players & conducting the line.
De Ligt is also an intelligent boy, he went to the same (pre-university) school in Amsterdam as Bergkamp. De Ligt also speaks fluent German and Italian. And of course he learned English, French and Latin at school.

The thought of Martinez partnering him is exciting, both happy to play out from the back and push the defensive line up the pitch. Thus making the whole team squeeze the pitch and press high. He also knows our managers philosophy and style of play, meaning he can slot straight in hitting the ground running.
Mathjis De Ligt is undoubtably a United player. The leadership, the personality and the willingness to get stuck in is so important. De Ligt and Martinez is on paper a really interesting pairing. Not to mention we've got the potential to sign Leny Yoro and Manuel Ugarte. This feels like its performance focused instead of a brand signing.
His tackle against Angel Correa while playing for Juventus in the Champions League is the best example of the defender he can be. Absolutely fearless and relentless.
I don't think think his issue with injuries is as bad as many make out. I've no worries there. Signing De Ligt would just add another leader to our ranks a CB that is very good from playing out the back same with Martinez. If we can get Yoro aswell that would be awesome. We should get confirmation of De Ligt's move to United this week
De Ligt can defend forward like he did at Ajax. That's what Maguire was not able to do. That's why De Ligt and Martinez is a perfect duo. Everyone at Ajax knows.
Those injuries did not start untill he got played out of position. That's important information that get's left out when his so called injury liability is brought up. He did not have these injuries at Ajax where he played in his natural position.
United need to sign a sweeper who has pace to compliment de light. Both he and martinez are front foot defenders so united will need someone to cover for them when they leave their position. Diamonde is a good option.
De Ligt isnt like Maguire. He has much better agility than Harry and a quick short burst of pace. He is also great.at.progressing the ball through the lines instead of short and sideways. If he's fit, he would be a really good signing, price and wage dependent.
I love de ligt but it’s insane to target an injury prone player when defensive injuries is the number one issue. We already have two starters in the back line made of glass and now looking to add a third?
From everything I’m hearing about what was going on at the club, with players basically telling Ten Hag that they will train how they want and play how they want, I’m excited to see what happens this season when he’s got proper backing. I reckon this Sancho situation is all smoke and mirrors also, it shows strategy and intelligence on United’s behalf. I hope Sancho is sold, and sold for a decent fee, it would really represent a huge shift at the club.
I'd sign him as a fresh defender that doesn't have the "losers syndrome" of previous players in the last 10 seasons. Then to have a winning mentality, we need goals aplenty...and that's why it's imperative to sign Ivan Toney who will complement Zirkzee and Højlund.
As much as I'm a fan of De Ligt, I don't like the injury proneness of his last season. It's a lot of transfer budget to be allocated on a player with injury issues. Why else would Bayern sell a talented young defender.

Troubled by the fact that Juventus felt they didn't need him, Bayern are preferring Eric Dier to him. Obviously he is very good, but is he 'good' enough?
It would all depend on injuries. If he came and was always available, his talent and ability will shine. If he misses lots of games like Varane, Bailly and Martinez, it will be a failure.
NGL , I think de Ligt is a very good player, however, he did not even start in our national team! I wonder if you guys look at him in an overhyped way.
I see some kids on tik tok going on about how he's no big van dijk level name but he's a system player who is still elite and as much as we clown people in sports for being system players it works
