I’ll be one if the reps that vacates for Texas. Its the self development aspect that don’t want to give up. Is it possible to make the same Income in Texas? Lower utility rate but should be bigger system size. Thanks for your energy James, enjoy Saturday

Yes you can make even more in TX. The profit margins are a bit lower but the system sizes in TX are a lot bigger than CA. Are you only selling in CA?

NEM 2.0 is *not* one-for-one concerning energy in kWh. That was part of NEM 1.0, but starting in 2017, everything has been done by monetary value instead, and that in turn is based on the time of use (TOU) plans, as there are no flat-rate plans offered for those enrolled in NEM 2.0. Most of the excess electricity that one's solar panels generate are credited at off-peak and at times super-off-peak rates, while much of the electricity that we use after generation slows down is charged to us at much higher peak rates. Because of the one-for-one exchange plus other incentives, those on NEM 1.0 can usually null out their electric bills (not counting natural gas, of course) by generating only about 80% of what they use, while on NEM 2.0 one's system must generate about 120% of what one uses, depending on when one uses electricity. Of course, NEM 2.0 is still *WAY* better for the consumer than NEM 3.0, which is heavily watered down from what the utilities had proposed earlier and the CPUC had threatened to approve. Had the utilities gotten what they wanted (and they might get all of it in the future), then rooftop solar would have been heavily disincentivized even with the addition of batteries. There will come a day (NEM 4.0) when people will be rushing to lock in NEM 3.0 before it's too late to actually benefit from rooftop solar.
