The Problem With Brawlhalla Content... 

Very well put Tripped. Mr Chompee made a video on this topic exactly, and I left my thoughts in his comments, but I feel it's fitting to leave them here as well. "From what I think, you do have a point, but I don't think content itself is dying, we're just missing a lot of other types of content. Video Essays for Brawlhalla are becoming more common, with of course, myself adding to it, but Vondakay, cero, Trippedup, and Typhoon sort of adding to it more recently this year. But something I think we should also do is document stuff more often. I don't know what the highest the elo has been ever. Like yeah, it's 3000 something, but do we have an exact number somewhere? That'd be some good content if someone really made a presentable video talking about the grind for the highest elo. Other things would be Brawlhalla drama. There are some awful AWFUL people in this community, and a lot of the time, no one knows. Now, this shouldn't be looked at like RU-vid Views, more so looked at to let the public know who is bad, and serve justice. But though I feel we should try to more risks with content, I also feel this game we play is quite dry with interesting stuff. It's almost a decade old, and I feel like it lacks compared to other games. Like, people aren't documenting stuff because there isn't much to document. Other games that have been out for less time have more interesting stuff about it, and why? In my opinion, it's because Brawlhalla hasn't had any groundbreaking update. It's patches to fix the game, which yes, is good, but other than that, news skins and maps. Every update feels the same, which in turn, hurts content. Rare Items have been covered. Unused Content has been covered. Damn near every guide has been made. Now what? Though, we should look at what we have. Gameplay videos are everywhere, though that isn't bad. With other types of content sprinkled in, then it would be fine, but because it's ONLY gameplay stuff, RU-vid does filter out a lot of unique content. But other types of content we have is like Swirft's stuff. Now, I don't really watch his videos because it's a lot of just update content, he does do quite good stuff. The team combo videos with his editing are quite nice, along with the mod stuff he has people make (and maybe help i don't know) And while it might not be my cup of tea, Cosolix does have unique-ish content with his challenge videos. While it's basic, it's something different. So I'm not saying we're doomed, but with how I feel about the game, we're dry on content because Brawlhalla is dry on content. Brawlhalla RU-vid is the same because Brawlhalla is the same. If we want better content, we'll need more creators to work on more unique stuff and for the game to improve, which in my point of view, the game isn't gonna improve. Now, if we do get more creators working on more unique stuff, we'll need to support it as much as possible, because unique Brawlhalla content sort of gets stuffed under all the gameplay videos. So if anyone is reading this and thinking about doing Brawlhalla content, try to make it different, have fun, and ignore the RU-vid stats. I feel you lads are WAAAY too about it. Make what you love, and it isn't Brawlhalla, then bro, don't make Brawlhalla stuff. Do your best."

Even while I understand that making Brawlhalla content on RU-vid is very difficult to gain traction on, I still do it myself. While I only have around 650 or so subscribers, and rarely receive a "high" amount of views (whatever you might consider that), I still do it purely based off that I enjoy doing it. I like making content for this game that I've considered to be one of my favorites across the years, especially with my two trips to BCX in 2022 and 2023. Yeah, gameplay and commentary with very little to no edits is not intriguing to most people. Neither are Legend Analysis videos. I just do it because I enjoy it. Some people might find it interesting to see it from my point of view, even if that percentage of people is extremely low. I'll stop when I run out of fuel to create content. As of now I'm still pretty interested in making videos, with no sign of stopping. I don't do anything extra spectacular when it comes to content creation. I'm not a pro like Pavelski, I don't make huge meme edits like PlanetMicro, and I sure as hell am not a Brawlhalla coach. But surprisingly, some people still consider me a part of the Brawlhalla community. And that makes me happy by itself.

I leave here, although late, an idea that came to my mind while watching this video. I think a great thing for Brawlhalla is that they will take more advantage of their tools and mechanics. There are quite a few different game modes in Brawlhalla, and with almost all of them one thing happens, they become too obsolete because Brawlhalla simply doesn't put interest in improving them. The only game mode that I really enjoy playing constantly with friends is the dice mode, I find it by far the most fun than the rest. Also something that I consider that affects is how the game is organized. Personally, I found the old game menu design more eye-catching, and the current one seems a bit minimalistic to me. But that's a personal opinion. Going back to the organization, the game modes for example, feel very hidden. The game in when you start playing, there is no introduction or presentation of part of the game. Like for example when you start to play they don't teach you how to play or how to move around in the game. The guides that Brawlhalla itself has, of combos, seem to be in incognito mode. So, an idea that came to my mind, and that I thought it would be interesting to share (although I'm sure no one will read this comment) is that Brawlhalla should take advantage of more things like its weekly modes. I guess no one plays the weekly modes except for earning some gold. For that reason, I would consider it great that Brawlhalla improves its weekly modes, bringing with them interesting mechanics that have not been tried before. That it feels like you're playing something more than just a game of Brawlhalla, more than just recycling the game modes that are there. I also think it would be a very good idea to update the existing game modes in Brawlhalla, for example the zombie mode to add new maps, or in the horde mode new enemies, I don't know, something like that. I also think that Brawlhalla urgently needs a redesign in the style of the game and its various options, such as the guides that gives the game, give them more personality. Another thing could be to improve the look of the inventory, I think the inventory to equip cosmetics is horrible and too wasted for how nice they could make it. Something with more personality, so that it doesn't just look like a Word or PowerPoint style option. Or also bring more eye-catching events, as it was with the OG colors. Well, events like this only take place on holidays, and nowadays those events have already become too monotonous. At least those are my thoughts, I think Brawlhalla for a moment should forget about tournaments and crossovers and remember that they should take care of their actual game, at least make it more attractive to the public and give it more variety. Let them get us out of the monotony that has been following the game for years.

I also create brawlhalla content but it is really hard to grow up on yt by uploading brawl.... If popular gamers would have played brawlhalla or promoted brawlhalla then only it would be more recognised also ... Brawlhalla team should give each legend a unique voice like crossovers.. story line and much more ❤

yeah your completely right, i would like to upload diff content but sadly my channel is based on brawl and im starting to find the game annoying with all the bugs and major fps drops its nothing wrong with my system i have a 4070 if im dropping fps on brawlhalla then i got scammed out of a gpu theres so many bugs in this game its not even funny

I feel a lot of content could be helped with a ton of more usable game modes (content wise whos using football in a video XD) and if brawlhalla had dedicated moders like smash thats why creators like Little z can upload videos quite like Pavel ski but since smash has more mods and more recognition. But on the bright side I feel players can still use well some of the usable game modes such as switchcraft and morph but sadly we dont have people willing to try it cause we already have a brawlhalla meta for content.

It's just a hard game to make original content for, that's just how fighting games go, I don't see a fix to that, honestly

Even though adding new content to the game could make content creation easier, I don't think that this alone would help the content creation scene grow, since most players just play a handful of matches before leaving the game forever. Also, almost everyone new to fighting games think of them as just "combo games", so even if there was a lot of content to be made for the game, the majority of players would still only be watching combo tutorials/showcase videos. For the people that grow past the combo tutorial phase, their interests are personal, so It's impossible to say what they will watch, but at this point the percentage of people that gave up is really high. This isn't a Brawlhalla problem, this is a fighting game problem in general. Almost all fighting games have their combo and highlight videos featuring millions of views, while the competitive sets and content creators don't get the same treatment.

i feel brawlhallas problem is they only want the money. they don’t add as many new characters as they used to. a lot of their prices are ridiculous like a deluxe battle pass for $15 with minimal rewards. they barely update the game and when they do they don’t even use experimental half the time to test it. that’s another thing experimental should literally be that. EXPERIMENT. add a regular friendly 1v1 and literally just throw anything into experimental. like balances and maybe even new characters. they can literally just do that and that makes the game 10x better imo. I think they just kinda don’t really care anymore. like with the cutscenes in the battle pass 💀💀. overall bmg went wrong when they were bought by ubisoft which is just slowly killing the game.
