Yup. Electric cargo bikes are the best. I personally prefer bakfietsen (box at the front), but any cargo bike is literally the greatest thing ever with kids. The kids prefer it almost universally to sitting in a car too, as it's way more fun and they get a better view of the city. I have a video on my channel about bakfietsen if anybody want to know more. We need to build cities so that they're safe for families with cargo bikes. This should be one of the top priorities when designing any transportation system anywhere.
Same here. You literally can’t control what people will say or do these days so it’s great to see him honoring his kids by giving them that privacy and anonymity.
So happy to see @Casey using the best type of child-transportation vehicle around (or groceries, or cargo of any kind), and also gratified to see somebody else riding around with an absurdly long selfie stick!
Wow. I never considered an advertisement that I didn't mind sitting through. Casey really managed to get me to watch an advertisement not because it felt like he was trying to market something to me or to make a bag off of this video, but to genuinely share a product that he uses and enjoys with people who may get just as much use out of it as himself. Thank you for always staying true to your laid back personality Casey, never change.
What horrible shit? Oh news? I don't watch that too depressing, my area of influence that has write access to my mind is within my city and strict areas online. Ever since I did this my mental health has been the best it has been ever.
@@tylerpixel what a dreadful take, you get too depressed at what’s going on in the world so you just ignore it? I’m all for a positive approach to mental health, but failing to acknowledge the pain and suffering of people around you so you can live in your own irrelevant bubble isn’t all that healthy or compassionate.
This is Casey at his best: a combination of some mock-ASMR, some great physical comedy, and... oh... the point of the video... the joy on the girls faces and in their voices... it warms my heart. Saving up for one of these for our younger kids (and grandkids too).
I just love the seamless continuous storytelling between different shots paired with Casey’s carefree energy not being bothered if he’s being judged by people around him
Get a cargo bike (or bakfiets like how we call them in the Netherlands)! They’ve always been a popular option for parents who wanted to bike their kids to school, but nowadays you also have electrified versions such as the Urban Arrow.
I am an international student in Denmark, and there are a lot of people having 3 wheel Cristiania bikes and 2 wheel Bakfiets (the kids sit in the front on a bench inside the cargo area. When I have kids, I will get Bakfiets, cause it can cut corners well. So similar agility to Casey's bike, but can also take more cargo.
We Dutchies be like "but that was the first choice anyway, right?" haha. Actually, we have cargo bikes which we use to transport our little kids. They sit in the front in a cargo space so we can also watch them while riding. Having them in the back makes you have to rely on them holding on tight.
Bakfietsen are great, but they’re so expensive in the US. Barrier to entry is high, you can’t get any for less than $4k and you can’t get an electric version for less than $6k, usually closer to $7-8k. Long tails are good because they’re cheaper and easier to store, many being no longer than a standard bike. It’ll be a few more years before bakfietsen are more affordable and popular here, but we’re working on it! 😅
@@tylernewcomb6465 oh wow, I didn't know that! I forgot in the Netherlands its so common to have a bike that the price will go down as a result of that.
@@Ramon314 yup, even your standard “Dutch bikes” are so much more expensive here, mostly because we need to import them. But a standard used bike that someone would use to commute in the US would probably be in the realm of $400 USD, compared to day €150-200 in NL for a bike. It’s such a big difference I considered flying back to the US with a bike when I visited! 😂

@@colski_ That's a reasonable amount, I'm a deadbeat beginner and I want to invest, I'm looking for good signals as few has been successful for me, any chance you can name your pro trader?
Honestly he makes like 100k+ a month from RU-vid.. why do an ad for this trash camera. 5.6k resolution my ass. Look at those shots, they are so garbage. Trash product he’s pumping to his viewers for nothing cus he doesn’t need the money
He’s such a master at it. He’s honestly one of the most inspiring people I see on RU-vid, not just as a video creator but just in terms of how he tackles things.
I feel this ad is like, one of the best sponsor ads on youtube I've ever seen. It's not one of those skits, not one of those Ryan Reynolds ads either. But it simply, while being very interesting and holding your attention all the way, demonstrates and convinces of the usefulness of the product 100%. Just incredible.
@@molh394 Ha, I just commented the same thing, best sponsored video ever. Fun, real, in Casey style, some hilarious shots. I already have the Insta360 though :). But will have a look at the new version… so yes, it worked.
Casey is the absolute master of saying some dialogue that is done over numerous shots, in numerous different locations but still making it feel seemless
What I missed so much about his videos is his positivity. Most people would walk on to the subway and comment on how dangerous it is as of late, but not Casey. Really appreciate that.
In Dubai the metro has a unique set of problems 😂 all which i find extremely funny. Please do tell me about the NY subway. What makes it dangerous as of late?
@@aaayyy1953 Hahaha where there is public transit in the US there will be human excrememt. Now transportation in Japan that was just *chefs kiss* there were times I was like "someone could probably eat off these seats they were so clean.
Well now that he's back in NYC he was a bit of a shithead when it came to LA, which generally has very similar issues/reputation as NYC, but with way more area to cover. I guess it proves some people are just meant to live in certain areas.
This is the first sponsored segment I've watched beginning to end without complaining in a while. Not only that, but by the end, I was glad I watched it. Casey understands so well how to hook you, give you something to stick around for, and pay it off. This whole video is great top to bottom
Casey is still THE KING of editing! All of those combined shots just feel both satisfying and mesmerizing. Also, can’t express how much I missed seeing NYC in the vlogs! ❤
Casey you are the man withers videos. Always killing it with the way you do your editing and filming angles. 😎 I’m so glad you are back on RU-vid. I love my insta360 but you aren’t careful enough for an insta360 camera. You are rough on gear. 😂
It's really cool to see how massively the quality of 360 cameras has improved over the last few years. Also, in the Netherlands a lot of parents use cargo bikes to transport their kids. In Dutch they're called bakfietsen because of the large bin (bak) at the front of the bicycle (fiets).
I have amazingly seen two electric bakfiet in my hilly Southern California suburb in the last few months. Maybe with electrification they will finally start to catch on in the US!
That really seems like a great idea, I think I will get one of these when becoming a father. Moscow already have bicycle infrastructure that it needs and in my smaller city school that I'll get my kids into is really close
@@al1sa920 Also great for groceries especially if the infrastructure is there. They are expensive and large so make sure you have a proper storage space for it to keep it safe and out of the weather when not in use.
I was watching this video and then my neighbuor came and we watched it together. He said that this video changed his life and touched his heart I then went and rented a projector in a big field and my entire town watched it and it changed their lives too we all are so thankful Thank you for this video...
The bike is actually not an ad. He doesn't even mention the cycle's name or brand, --it's really hard to tell in the video. I think he just wants to show people the option of cycling in New York. And the benefit of designing safer cities for walking and cycling.
Casey, you're too cool. I'm so glad that this ended up being a cargo bike video. We need more cargo bike trips and fewer SUV trips. It's more fun for us and our kids. Electric cargo bikes are even more awesome!
I remember finding the Niestat Brothers on HBO in what felt like the dawn of on demand entertainment. Pleased to see Casey still out here doing it best
This is a problem with every city in North America. I also have a bike for three (different brand) and love transporting my five year old daughter on it in Denver. Thanks for making this video and promoting urbanism in NYC and beyond!
Yes right, people need to understand that this does exactly the same thing, as a gigantic, fuel or electricity consuming thing called car when you are in a city.
@@sternreport that's why we have car seats and booster seats. A) Your kid has much better chances of surviving a car accident/ getting out of it with minimal injuries and B) they can actually see what's happening outside the window
These long-tail cargo bikes are becoming very popular in Barcelona, Spain, too. Many people use them and save lots of money by not owning a car. Best and most sustainable way to get around!
Making it out at a young age is quite difficult. I started a side hustle at 17, saved up and made some good investments. l'm 28,live on my own and having a good life for myself. Big ups to you and everyone out there trying
@@lilianazuluaga6504 Yes it sure is. I put in money in investments and get profits. That 's how I make more money without working. This does not sound new to you right ?
Thank you for making sponsorship sections interesting. I watch them!!! I never fast forward. You throw story telling, method and product placement all in to a little mini, know the gear, tell better stories sidebar. Thank you for teaching me so much for so many years now. I appreciate you still popping in on RU-vid once and while.
Great to see Casey promoting this great form of transportation for families in the city. Hope this also promotes NYC to build more safe biking infrastructure. Hope to see more of these sround
This is the most common way of bringing your kids and groceries around here in the Netherlands. So cool to see more and more people getting orange pilled, maybe without even them noticing it themselves. Edit: thanks casey, you've always had a big thing with boosted and I believe they boomed cuz of that. I hope biking will become more and more of a thing now in North America.
We were contemplating if we should suggest a E-Bike built for three. A cargo bike would also work. A lot of the families here in Switzerland have an E-bike with seats for kids like yours or a cargo bike that also has seatbelts to secure the kids. That really works, we once rescued a kid out of the cargo portion of the bike because her Dad slipped on the wet traintracks here in Basel. And she wasn't hurt, just a bit shocked. The E-Bike for three is a very fitting transportation for you.
Welcome to the Cargo bike club Casey! You should check out the Urban Arrow bakfiets. I’ve been driving one daily around Amsterdam for the past five years (sometimes with three kids in!) and it rocks!
omg i love seeing the camera angel watching Casey get the shots! always imagined what it looks like seeing Casey going down the street with crazy cameras! love it!
I think another great solution for NYC would be large nice busses with enough space on bus lanes. The city where I study (Almere, Netherlands) has an amazing bus network. The busline I take to my college passes the train station, primary, midddle, highschools and multiple collages in just 10 minutes. Kids go with the bus on their own to school all the time and people with their kid in a stroller coming on to the bus is also a very usual sighting, same as people in wheelchairs.
If you've lived long enough then you know *the real art is not getting on top, it's STAYING on top!* My dad warned me about this the very first time I "succeeded," but like any young guy feeling the euphoria of his own success, I didn't listen.
Casey is light years ahead of everyone on RU-vid. Just when vloggers were getting beginning to back engineer his editing and storytelling style he puts out a couple videos and people are left speechless. It's like when the Beatles released the White Album LOL!
Im so glad a big youtuber is promoting these!! Its important that people know there are other options. Next we look to making roads safer for bikes. :)
i"ve enjoyed watching various RU-vid content over the last 5 years promoting commuting on an E-bike into cities rather than cars. They can really rip, and go places where cars can't, like through a park to increase efficiency of travel in a congested city. There's many advantages to e-bike commuting especially if you live in a good weather environment so you don't show up to work soaking wet. As far as "The Problem with New York City" , I was hoping to see a laundry list of reasons that would solidify my view of why in the hell someone would chose to live their life in the concrete jungle of NYC. I still don't know why? In my experience, . NYC is like L.A. where everyone thinks their someone, by the aire of artificial show business pretentiousness that's everywhere, but NYC thinks their the Show, not the people. Los Angeles as a city doesn't promote itself as more important than the people, NYC does. I don't know if there's a city anywhere on the planet that elevates self-promotion to a higher level of annoyance more than NYC. Maybe living in NYC is worth it to some people, evidently a lot of people, but it doesn't appeal to me, not even .0001%. I think the best solution would be to leave the city., rather than to show how well you can adapt to a ridiculous transportation situation for you and your family.
@@jefffaller8474 "I was hoping to see a laundry list of reasons that would solidify my view of why in the hell someone would chose to live their life in the concrete jungle of NYC" Wow, looking for validation instead of appreciating the diversity in the world.
Neistat is easily my favorite RU-vidr. It's even better now that he's back in NYC. He gives us a glimpse of what city life is like and makes it genuinely interesting.
Did you notice at around 0:23 he used the same sample as Polyphia did in 40oz. Seems like you'd be the only one here that would understand what I'm sayin. LOL
@@user-hq8mx7mn3u As far as I know, it originated from a sample pack from some years back. Quite a few different artists, including Polyphia, have used it as a foundation for their track.
It’s because Casey has a large enough platform to only take sponsors he actually likes and whose products he truly likes. This ability to be so honest in sponsorships also encourages follower growth because he is so honest. View it like if a friend really likes a brand and they’re telling you about it they don’t realize this is essentially advertisement for this brand Casey takes the same approach.
Casey, I just wanted to say thank you for all that you do. Your videos have gotten me through so many tough times in my life and always inspired me to do whatever I have my mind set to. I will always watch your videos and support you.
I'm stuck using my SUV, I have 5 kids. From Kindergarten to High School. I also saw this after your bike lanes bounty hunting video and wonder what your thoughts are about this bike with your kids in tow during the heaviest traffic times in the city? I'm surprised, personally, we haven't adopted more methods like this for kids as places all over Asia have been using all types of bikes and mopeds with their kids for decades.
It's so great how over the past decade plus they now have a continuous Hudson River Greenway in NYC. I'm old enough to remember when this wasn't possible. And now it's so great for people who bike run etc. .. or take your daughters on an E bike for 3! Still so grateful to have you back here showing our great great city. Thank you Casey!
Hudson River Greenway is so freaking amazing, I almost can't believe the city was able to pull that off. The city needs to have more methods of transportation and physical activity.
I am super stoked you're promoting and telling this story. From a aspring transportation planner kudos to leading the charge to the future of transportation in our cities. Just make sure that back wheel stays in true, I've heard of them falling apart when theres a motor hub.
Everyone in the Netherlands brings around their kids with a 'bakfiets' often also electric nowdays (urban arrow is populair), fits up to 3 kids in a big bin! (or any other stuff in need of moving around)
Ladies and Gentlemen: The Gold Standard for RU-vid movie-making creators. Casey can make any movie about anything and it will be interesting. Superb talent.
Now that I’ve watched almost all the episodes I’m ready for more ‘daily’ shows. The videos are so involving, interesting and inspiring, it’s hard to stop! Thanks for all you do Casey!
I just can't express how happy I am for having new vlogs from Casey back again! You are a legend and I wish you all the best and I hope I get to see many more videos from you in the future :)
I’m as someone from the Netherlands have to advice you to a “ Urban arrow “ it’s a “ bak fiets” it’s made to do shopping or to transport you’re kids around in crowded areas. So perfect for New York
Finally it happened - I was expecting Casey riding a cargo bike for several years now. Great you’re making another step away from fossil fuels. Wishing you and the kids always a safe ride! Welcome to a great community of people - so called cyclists.
