I have a theory of why most of post charly tracks of prodigy sounds very dark, evil, hard and sometimes so experimental that you only can compare Prodigy to Aphex twin. Charly was blamed for killing rave and hardcore and going to mainstream and spawning tons of charly like tracks that sounds too easy and childish and was labeled as child's techno or hardcore which also forced some djs to boycott any prodigy tracks. I think Liam took it very close to his heart and tried to prove everyone he can do better and different than others and he tried as hard as he can to sound different and not childish, easy and positive as rest of post charly hardcore scene, so he gone all negative, mature and hard, and this resulted in tonal shift from first single and made even first album more dark, and this idea evolved into 2nd album which was very different from every thing else around.

Havent heard this track in maybe 15-16 years. You folks are right, start sounds incredibly like SMBU
