This album was so special. Big chart hits but tracks like this, Narayan and Minefields were hidden gems to be discovered. How lucky we were to grow up in times where we had music like this.
This track was like the act that goes on after the main act is finished. I mean, Firestarter was THE track of that album, and when that was over this one just kind rolled in after real smooth and got your head rocking like..."oh, this is nice."
Got it for I think my 12th birthday and I had no idea that the CD i listened to then would be the future self i would become and this song would be it.
Same here. I remember requesting this at a strip club. The dancer thought this was such an awesome song. She kissed me and grabbed my crotch when I went up to tip her on stage. I was blown away.
Igor Novaski ...hell yeah! I'm like running through time in my head right now, this music will forever go down as the original techno sounds. Chemical Brothers too 😎
Happy 25th anniversary to this beast of album. 25 years old! RIP Keef. Lucky enough to see him / The Prodigy live 4 times in 4 different countries. Never felt like they were going “through the motions”, always brought the energy and passion that they captured in their songs. Every live performance was fresh and different. The best.
This piece of art is like an endless journey into multidimensional outter cosmos...You dont want it to finish...you keep repeating it again n again n again n again..My love to all prodigy funs and Prodigy thank you!! RIP Keith.! You ll be eternal in our hearts and minds!
I discovered this song just randomly when I walked in to record store in the mall back in the late 90’s. They were playing it and loved the song so I bought this CD 💿 in impulse. I never get bored of this song never will!!!
Its funny how finding good music used to worked back then, ever since i was 10 years old me and my dad would go out and spend our sunday's at record shops which was our sort of father and son bonding time, we'd spend hours listening to all sorts of music and i knew i would always be able to walk out with an album that day, he greatly influenced my love for electronic music, and when i was browsing the isle for what was all jumbled up back then and categorized as "dance music" i spotted this album cover, that crab called to me ... Beckoned me to put the cans on and find out what the fuss was all about, what was he trying to show me, who is this crab!? ... Most importantly what does it convey about the music i'm prepparing to invest in!? ... Back then if you wanted to sample a record you actually had to choose one first and bring it to the listening station where you would load it up on the technics, so you had to rely on some visual sense to make decisions on what you thought was gonna tickle your fancy, i was amused by the cover art, but blown away once i heard what it had to offer, you should have seen the look on my face once i put the needle on the record and heard Narayan for the first time which is still one of my favorite tracks by them, i discovered fire that day and i rushed to my dad with only 15 minutes into our musical journey with the album in hand and told him that i made my choice for the day ... So big shout out to Alex Jenkins for the album art work, he did a great job catching my curiosity and effectively delivering a product that everyone imo should have the privilege of blessing their ears with.
For four years I lived in Spain back in 95 @ age 19... The club scene and Prodigy music 100% fueled my love and intoxication with Europe then. Man I miss it and my friends from then so much it fucking hurts!
been listening to prodigy since being 12.. i grew up with Experience, and just a few moments ago, while riding in a bus, out of boredom scrolling through radio stations, my brain surprised me with the song intro. Awesome song, and i can say each album has some memories or vibes, because they are a peart of me. Long live Prodigy
To prawda! Totalny sztos!! Juz dawno tego nie sluszalem i poraz kolejny mam ciary. Technicznie ten kawalek jest mistrzowski idealnie buduje admosfere. Intro jest kurde genialne !!!
Yep. Discovered this through that sonicbomb video. This song to me is basically the embodiment of a tornado. Intro sounds like rising supercells, you hear sirens as electricity buzzes the air, and then the ensuing chaos of the tornado.
So much pot smoked to this song. "Kill Your Friends" brought me back to this memory.... Back in 97' c.ds were 20+$ so you were taking a gamble when you bought. This album was worth the money.
In my humble opinion, this is the best track from this album. I get goosebumps every time I hear it. It deserved a lot more play than it got. This would still be great on a movie soundtrack or video game.
I have been listening to and loving this track since it came out. But today, I’m here because I heard it in an episode of the show Six Feet Under. Wild scene!!
I heard this at the 1st time in 2000 about. It was a bridge to UK's sounds. I'm glad for this masterpiece from Prodigy. It's a unclassified genres of music!!!❤
This feels so nostalgic cuse the prodigy is a band that my father listened to this when he was young^^(he still plays it daily) One day when I played some music at the car he said its trash , so I asked him to show me what he thinks real music is . And oh god he was right this is literally the best even in 2022 🛐
you father is a wise man. find something special to show him, and keep trying because its a beautiful moment when y'all find that vibe that works. something that isn't commercial, vapid, gross, immoral or lazy nowadays. Oh and you won't like your kids music either lol . part of the fun actually IMO
Really powerful magnetic magnetic postcard of a vibrant era as the last years of the 90s. Prodigy they were poets of excess and crazy Genius music. Fantastic
Back in the day when we were young and everything was like a loaded g)n. Ready to go off at any minute and ya know we're gonna win again. Man the lyrics to this song are catchy.
