And he is quick to do something to latch on to what is popular instead of making popularity find him. I think of Kendrick last album not sounding like anything out with its heavy jazz influence and really having minimal tracks that could be thought of as singles. BUT he got a huge amount of respect AND accolades and the sales came after. That being said, there are allegations that he didn't write Best I Ever Had or his verse on Going In...and that was early in his career. Man. There has been a lot of music made between then and now.
