The proper way to lace your boots/shoes. 

I saw the video just fine, people how bout you turn up your phones back ground light n open your eyes, n see it with light. N you can comment nicely it won't hurt your egos ? Geez, The guys took time to try to help out people to lace some dang boots, geez people's need to relax a little. Why does everyone have to be so rude? It's so exhausting, knowing they're so many harsh ways you speak to a stranger you never met. On another note, I like the video and love ❤️ the fact that you were fast and straight to the point on getting it laced up. I got it the first time just fine. But I enjoy challenging my mind. Feeling the know I'm learning something new today was good feeling. Weather I use it or not thank you for your help. And thank you for sharing your methods. And thank you fellow watchers for your input it helped me think about the "what if's."! Thanks for your time.

I've been lacing my boots like this since the early '80s. It doesn't work on all boots, but for the boots it does, nothing beats this type of ladder lace. Except I ladder lace all the way to the top, not just halfway like in this video. Once I have the laces equal length where I want them, I mark the centre at the bottom, pull them out, and tie a knot at the mark. Also, I ensure the laces are long enough that I can loosen them enough to take the boots off without pulling the laces out of the top holes, and then tie knots in each end so they can't pull through. By doing it this way, the laces can't ever become uncentred, the ends can't come loose, and it's fast and easy to pull the laces tight.

Thanks it's perfect on my work boots I needed them to be pretty tight at the top but a little looser in the middle and this did exactly that

Looks neat. But creates uneven tension through the eyelets of the boot. I’ll stick to doing this only on my dress shoes.

You could just put a knot in the top end, and thread through one lace.... the other is at the top end with a knot in it and does not come through the hole if you knot is good enough - then at the end you wrap it around the top a couple of times and fold it under your wrap arounds --- British Army way of years ago - I'm not even sure they do it that way now. Probably best to use a leather lace.

OCD is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It is a mental illness that means you MUST have everything in order and check multiple times to make sure it is with varying degrees to do so!
