I feel this. I have two categories of people who work for me. Those assigned to me because we need to force them to work or leave, and those assigned to me because they need protecting at all costs from the upper management shite. My husband said the base should be shaped like the Wyrmwood tree. I said that would have to be a one-of-a-kind thing for the office. But... then he said to make the base look somewhat more tree-ish and that would solve the pirate wheel aesthetic

@@korotix5345 have you ever shopped for real furniture? most tables cost like 10k. I was in a regular city furniture the other day and a table with 6 chairs was 16k. and it didnt do anything cool like have a vault / toppers / or RPS system.

I have watched Wyrmlife from the very beginning, and as a host of many board games and D&D, as well as having kids gaming and an adult life on the side, this is the first concept I've seen that I want to buy. Big enough for big board games/D&D. Hex shapes means 6 gamers all sit pretty close and equal. Pedestal shape means chairs fit comfortably and it doesnt overpower a space visually with a lot of legs. Hot take: make it affordable instead of high-end. Keep the lifting playing space. I don't care about the exotic wood. I care about durability, usability, and that it looks simple and sexy.

@@WyrmLyfe True, but it has legs at all the corners and narrower armrests (which also means you're sitting closer to your neighbors). I don't particularly care about the lifting playspace, but I think that would be a great add-on option (especially because maybe people who didn't want the lifting space may want to buy it later...). This new hex feels much less like a "poker table" and more like a "gaming table", and I agree with others that it's appealing in ways the existing tables don't quite reach for me.

I would buy one of these before I would get a regular Prophecy or MGT just because of the shape. Oblong tables can be problematic when it comes to space. Put a topper on it like the regular tables so we can pause our game to eat and we're there!

For the stretchers under the table you were talking about tapering in for more structure, you could use a ship's knee shape; it looks sharp and kinda high end! And provides a good deal of stiffness without sacrificing useable leg space AND it fits the nautical theme!!

So dope. I like this hex table for the classes over the traditional Prophecy. I still want an extension on the side for the dm to sit back a little. That way it can go from poker table to tabletop gaming without the dm sharing space with players on either side.

Change so it looks a little LESS Arrg!?! No way. Lean into it and make it look MORE like a pirate ship. Of course it would have to include a complimentary copy of a Wyrmwood pirate themed tabletop game with potentially too many Rs in the name to be legal. Alternatively, the overlapping skirts in the middle could be changed to resemble dragon scales, then it looks a bit like a dragon's neck moving up and down. The supports under the vault that you talk about extending down and tapering could be cut in such a way to give the impression of dragon wings. And for the feet, go truly old school with some hand carved (dragon) claw feet. If you intend this to be something high end and expensive, why only go half way? Really make it your signature in your Signature Series.

I feel like they could easily build a stable base "platform" and have quite a few styles for aesthetics on it. There's no reason those straight legs couldn't become curvy "dragon feet", or the layered hex shell couldn't be some weird cylinder of inlay patterns, etc.

Gotta be honest, I never see people lean full weight on an artisinal table. Junk tables like I dealt with in the cafeteria when I was a janitor, sure. Never something like that. You could tweak the support arms to solve that I think. I like the layer cake central pillar. It is something different from the single stem design I've seen in the past.

Glue steel T-bar into the horizontals to take the flex out. You'd still lift the legs, but no more flex. I know, for woodworkers that's not done, but it works!

I mean, they already have the metal lifting mechanism inside the table, it should be pretty straight forward to just build a frame to drop in with it and support it all internally (without any visible metal bars).

im..... with jason on hating pedestal tables in general; but im also with Doug on redesigning the pedestal itself if you want to be able to sell that particular table. itll have to be a stronger middle with probably wing type arms to spread out and hold the top correctly but not take away from leg room. You have maybe 3 more iterations before getting it proper and correct.

Definitely think the Prophexy should be bar stool height if you go through with this idea. I do not think you should change the base simply because it has the sunk in or risen inside. To Doug's concern about it being a hardwood design couldn't you just veneer what you needed to due supply issues: also wouldn't that technically give you a "higher end table" and a cheaper cost.

I could see how the pedestal imbalance or however you put it could suck if you put weight on it, but man I absolutely hate the idea of legs on a hexagonal table which is supposed to hold one person per side. Don't like the feel of having to wiggle out if the chair doesn't have wheels.
