I will always wait 4 to 5 years after a console's release. Knew that SONY would release the PS5 Pro, only waited for the games that I wanted before release.

PLAYSTATION 5 PRO....$599.99 + Tax Wouldn't surprise me of PlayStation actually charge that much for a mid-gen console.

I've never brought consoles for specs.. more so for the games. They got us by the balls with exclusivity.

I'm still trying to figure out why people get so angry about mid gen refresh consoles every 3 to 4 years, but are okay with other aspects in the tech world refreshing every year. Cars, phones, tvs and pc components.

I've said it before and I'll say ti again, I don't need a PS5 Pro to replace the original model PS5 that I currently have, and probably 80% of the current PS5 owners out there agree with me. My estimate is based the sales ratio of base PS4 consoles to PS4 Pro consoles.

I'm hoping to get a 9th gen console later this year but I'll stick with the older iteration of whichever 9th gen console I'll get since I will still only be playing on a small screen in 720p anyway so I don't need the extra teraflops or whatnot.

Just a tip: if there is a 60 FPS mode in the game, and the game does deliver 60 FPS in it, then the game is not CPU limited, even if the game has to drop the resolution to atari levels.

I’m still happy with my PS5…. Load times are great, frame rates are good for the types of games I play (JRPGs) and I usually don’t buy mid generation refresh systems. I’ll be back for the PS6 in 2030 😂😂

PS5 can do 4k 60 for older cross-gen games but since 2020 games became more complicated and detailed that now newer hardware is required to maintain the same resolution and fps

I think Rich is excessively concerned with frame rates and pixel counts, as if that is what console gamers care about. The PS5 Pro is aimed at console gamers who want games that look good and run smoothly. It is _not_ aimed at people who care about having a locked 4k 120fps -- people who care about 4k 120fps that know that it is not possible even on a $5,000 gaming PC. So, if they are upset that the PS5 Pro can't deliver that, then they're probably not genuinely upset -- they're probably a console warrior troll of some kind.

I understand the frustration on the marketing front. I also understand why games are getting harder to run at 4k 60. Game devs will always try to push the limits in the AAA space and this is what in turn pushes better hardware. In reality only really last gen games were ever true 4k 60 on the base PS5.

Im gonna be honest they have been so low amount of games for not saying none that actually uses current gen power to give you that current gen experience, for the moment most games are just last gen games with a tag saying next gen game.

He's absolutely right about the cross gen situation. Call of Duty and Elden Ring would have looked so much better if it they next gen only. The latter may have never sold 23 million copies though.

Will not get any framerate upgrade with just a gpu bump. It will just help with fidelity and more demanding graphical options. Frame generation will also hammer the cpu and not magically give you 120fps like it does on a pc. Pc has more cpu headroom so the frame gen actually runs the framerate high enough.

Been there with the ps4 pro. Differences were minimal, but I think it was capable of running the PSVR if I am not mistaken. May as well either save your money or put the money towards a prebuilt PC if you want any true difference in power and choices in gaming. If xbox has an update too, same thing, save money and go PC for true power difference. Would rather play a PC game at 1080p with faster framerates than crawling snail pace 4k ray tracing graphics on console.

It's sad but the only ones that really delivered True 4K 60 and up this gaming generation was Nvidia with RTX 3080 and up. Running old games at 4K 60 to 120 FPS and newer games at 4K, raytracing atv60 to 120 fps with dlss.

I was saying it at the beginning of the generation that these consoles just felt like another pro version of the 8th gen consoles and people got pissed at me and wrote me off on social media. 99 percent of the games I’ve played this generation are old games and remasters. I’m tired of being right.

100% - the original consoles were hamstrung by cpu, the pro will be slightly less hamstrung by cpu.

honestly i use fsr alot on pc and i dont notice a difference between it and dlss, to the average person the minor flaws dont matter much, ive played at varied resolutions on starfield on a hard drive yes you can play on a hdd, using ram cache, to speed things up, and it looks virtually the same as regular 4k, there is some degredation at 1080p 50% to 4k but it still looks good i usually play at 3k, or 3000 by 1800 or so, with fsr it looks exactly the same on starfield or my total war games.

That ps5 pro enhanced label will also be misleading because they mentioned 3 different aspects that would be enhanced, but im sure they only have to enhance one aspect to use the label, and these normal console gamers will think every enhanced game is ray traced and so on.

I was on the fence of getting the new PS5 pro & tossing the old PS3 I use to play COD online. Well it looks now like I am better off spending my time and money doing other things. Good luck with your channel

boy am i glad i completely abandoned consoles after the ps3, yeah it was torture during the ps4 but now pretty much every game i wanted to play in that console is now on pc, and ps5 doesnt have any exclulsive i can give a damn (plus they are on pc too but i dont care)

The only reason to get pissed, is that the current next gen systems never had a chance, with the last gen still being support. Even now they still put out all things to n last gen.

Idk who was expecting a cpu upgrade in the 1st place it's alot harder on developers to completely revamp a game for a different cpu architecture than it is to just add a more powerful GPU there was no doubt Sony was limited to staying on zen 2.

If I was making the PS5 Pro it should be 85 percent better than the base PS5 but it looks like it's only going to be 10 percent better why even release a Pro version if it's not going to destroy the base version of the PS5

The only thing that will get me to by a Pro console is if they put the chips that would allow it to play PS3 and back consoles as well. If they wanted to charge 700 for it, I would go for it to have new hardware for those games.

You're right with this take. I'm tech aware, so I'm not disappointed. I like Series S for what it is. I like X and PS5 for what they are as box labels didn't fool me like it did most of my friends who swore they were gaming in 8k 😂 despite ps5 hdmi not being mathematically capable of doing so... and them having 1080p displays 🤦🏾‍♂️. If they buy my ps5 slim for $300 or so, I'll trade up... maybe. But, it'll still run 4k 30... sigh... also, you're correct. Like I said before on one of your videos, Sony and MS have always over exaggerated how good their console hardware is. If you look at the PS3 and 360 they were marketed as consoles that could do 1080p Full HD and yet most games were subhd or 720p at best in a handful of games. Games ran like crap when those consoles first came out as well, I remember playing Saints Row 1 on the 360, and my god, that game couldn't even hold 30FPS, don't even get me started on the screen tearing as well. I think Sony is doing this because they know, the PS5 hardware is already showing its limits, and they wan't this generation to last as long as possible, especially with games like GTA VI coming out. To be fair the PS5 has been out now for almost four years, a console generation traditionally only lasts between 4 - 5 years, but with how long its taking for games to be developed now and how much money it is costing, they want every generation to be as long as it possibly can be.

Might as well get a Series S and 27" 1440p freesync monitor if you're going to play remasters at fake resolutions. The games are better too lol

From the beginning I really have to ask what even was the “next gen experience” because last I checked that was never a thing. The Xbox and ps5 are perfectly fine as it is but the companies weren’t able to fully use the abilities because honest not enough people could get them, even so let’s hope this at least lowers the prices of current and older ps5’s
