The PlayStation 5 Pro is set to release this holiday season but unless you fall into a specific criterion, you should probably not buy the PS5 Pro as it will most likely not be the upgrade you were looking for.

STORAGE: 2x SK Hynix P41 Gen 4 NVMe M.2 SSD
MOTHERBOARD: MSI B650 Gaming Plus WiFi
CASE: NZXT H5 FLOW

Wrong analysis. 1) Improved upscaling is pretty much an increase in performance. You can multiply those 45% by whatever increase in quality new AI based upscale will have. I am pretty sure pro will be able to do quality mode in 60 fps instead of 30, for new or patched games

PSSR is just an upscaling method similar to DLSS it has nothing to do with raw performance, we already have temporal upscaling in current PlayStation games such as FSR and other in engine methods. The only difference is that PSSR will use hardware acceleration for upscaling like on Nvidia cards.

@@FilledWithChi11 What you mean it has nothing to do with performance? If it has better quality then it means you can render in lower resolution to achieve similar results. IT IS a performance boost.

@@FilledWithChi11 really? So extra silicon spent on AI units doesn't count I guess. If you can output 2x frames with similar quality while having only +45% of raw performance, nobody cares about 45% number. This is clearly what Sony aimed at.

Uhh yes have you played Avatar because I have it installed on my 4090 PC and at ultra setting native 4K I get dips below 60FPS.

@@FilledWithChi11 yh thats sht, i dont get why we still use 60fps as a reference point. We're in 2024 we should see atleast minimum at 120fps by now. Or make 120fps the new main reference instead of 60fps. fr

Makes a lot of sense that Sony are releasing a PS5 Pro, Microsoft aren't jumping in as they know if people want more graphics and FPS they usually take the next step and get a PC (Still money in Microsofts pockets with Windows, and Game Pass. PS Don't have that and if people want to have better graphics they'll loose customers going to build a PC and inadvertently supporting Microsoft with Windows, Game Pass etc

It's a new chip with rdna3/4 hybrid with 45% rastorized performance improvement but a 3 times improvement in RT. So not really a 7700xt

If they continue with this all games going digital garbage, then it doesn't matter to me if its the PS5000 Giga Chad Pro Thunder. I'm out! I will only continue to focus on classic retro gaming and my huge back catalog.

@@FilledWithChi11 youre literally in the comments arguing about cpu limitations and what pssr does when its all rumors. Theres not even a benchmark out to let us know how pssr performs its all speculation. Its all from DF saying PS5Pro cant run GTA6 at 60FPS which they had to walk back.

@@stevenbishop1782 because it had a low powered jaguar cpu. That's not the case this gen. Every game can run 60fps if devs want to hit that target but the real struggle is the modern game engines overtaxing the gpu
