I find it a bit strange how there’s no introduction to this show or what it or future episodes are going to be about. I don’t even know who the guest is.
Obviously just my opinion based off of my own life experiences - MOST people are good at heart. Even if they have extreme opinions on things, very few people act out in an anti-social way in society. It is a small percentage of people who are being violent or putting others in harms way on purpose. So even extreme civil liberties people will be respectful when encountering people who may be immune compromised out on the street and will give them distance. Most people just want to live their lives and cause others no harm. Some people have extreme impulse control issues but that is what laws and police are supposed to be for. And quite frankly, before the law gets involved, it is what parents are supposed to be teaching their own children before sending them out into the world. So this idea that we need government in order to know what is right or wrong or to realize we need to control our impulses is not a sound argument in my opinion. If the human race was mostly evil with impulse control we never would have survived actual pandemics in the past, world wars or the dark ages. Most people are good at heart, unfortunately right now there are people who are so locked in a fear response that they are willing to become tyrannical over other people. So they become what they fear most. But that’s ok, because it is up to the rest of us to either gently enlighten their hearts or to stand up to them. Life is full of risk always, at any time, at any point in history, life is full of risk. That will never change, nor should it. We need darkness and light fighting for balance always or we lose perspective and compassion. Sorry, long rant. I’m enjoying the podcast and the conversation.
