Hey gang,
In this video we'll be going through the DC Comics solicitation catalog featuring all of the company's new releases for May 2022. I'll let you know what books I've added to my pull list at my local comic book store, and which books I've specifically decided aren't worth my time and money, even now, two months before they hit the stands. In other words, this video could just as easily been titled, "45 minutes of snarking on DC!"
So, have fun, and don't be shy about sounding off in the comments section with any thoughts of your own!

x boogers - lol I do agree with most modern books being fast reads and stretching plot over too many books. There are some gems here and there, but for the most part modern writers/artist focus so much on translating for on screen use (movies/tv/etc). Honestly, it's partly the audience fault too, our attention spans are too short today lol

(I comment as the video plays, so my comments may seem choppy) Love the pie charts Duke! Nice graphics! Which graphics program do you use for your titles and graphics? I'm gonna start counting the story pages because you're right, that's what really matters and it seems to me that almost the last half of each comic I buy are ads for other comics that I'm not gonna buy. (the stories seem way too short) Love the short story vs. novel analogy. As much as they try, especially at Marvel to make comics that look like movies, they are not the same. As far as the decompression of these stories go - what I've been doing lately, (not intentionally, more by default) I get way behind and end up reading 4, 5 or 6 issues in a sitting. That seems to help as I get more of the story. -- X-Booger!

I have to feed your ego. There are just so many rehashed... things... in marvel. Just seems like this X-booger and this Spidey booger were retold. I've moved to independents because it just seems like the "big 2" are stuck resting on their laurels and don't want to try anything new. Thanks for the video!

Comics books are made of paper stock not of paper and the cost are more of paper stock?.

I'm not sure I understand the question. There are different grades of paper stock, from basic newspaper pulp on up to high-gloss coated finish. Generally speaking, the better the grade of paper, the higher the cost, although some of that depends on supply and demand and what paper grade is most in use at any given time.

I havent read any of Hickman X-men but I really liked Immortal X-men #1 makes me want to read the rest of that era. Its like a political drama where the Mutants form an ethnostate and different mutant factions fight. I also liked Hulk Grand Design. Dan Slott is a hack he just writes the dumbest shit I don't see the appeal. I watched a video on the clone saga he did for spider-man called clone conspiracy and it was just mind numbing continuity retcon shit.
