Melissa, your closing words brought tears to my eyes. I am about to turn 80 years old and I have cherished each year of my life to be able to see so much beauty when I look out our windows. I see our mountains and lake and the woods all around us change with the seasons. Oh how I love life and living in this magnificent country.

I bet you've got some wonderful stories to tell. My dad turned 91 this year & the doc says he'll make it to at least 100. He has some great stories. He grew up in UK & lived through the blitzkrieg & blackout curtains & no street lights & air raid shelters. Their "windows" were blown out 4 times. Crazy stuff. Then we came to US for 5 yrs & stayed going on over 50 yrs now. The surroundings you mentioned sound wonderful. ❤

"Thru these exact windows, we will watch the sun rise on a thousand new days, and we will watch the worst storms roll over those mountains. We'll watch snow fall on Christmas Eve, and the fields slowly turn green, day by day, every spring. We'll watch our children playing and growing, until eventually, we're watching them return home with their own children. I'll wipe tiny hand prints off the glass, left by my grand children. And there will be days when I look out those windows and I'll wonder where the years have gone. But today, these windows are brand new, and those memories that I'll reflect on, they haven't happened yet. So, as I stare out these windows today, I feel gratitude, gratitude for all that I’ll witness out of these windows". :) :) :)

Your children are being raised like children should be, they are being taught values, and that hard work, working together is how you reach your goals. You are instilling in them what hardworking pioneers did to build their homesteads. They become part of it. I love your videos and watching your progress. The windows look great. Almost sixty years ago as a 11 to 13 year old, I picked cherries for the neighboring rancher. I used to get 5 cents for Lamberts and 6 cents a pound for Bings. Really good money for a kid back then. The first day of picking, I asked the neighbor, if we could eat some cherries while we picked. He laughed and told us to eat all we wanted. He had a funny look on his face when he said that. I wondered about the funny look for about a minute and could not think of a downside to eating as many as I wanted. Later that night I discovered the reason for the laugh and funny look. I did not get far from the bathroom. lol, I was more careful in my consumption the next day.

Good choice in exterior doors and windows. I was a registered installer for Anderson windows and doors. That filmis there to protect the glass during construction and removed after painting the interior and exterior of the house. Please read the directions carefully before installing the doors and remaining windows. The doors will come with hardware. Please note the shim points for installation, making sure that it is level and plumb. By following there directions to the letter, insures the warranty. We love watching your video diary. I’m almost 82, would love to rewind life, and would love to be where you are. Your kids won’t get into trouble like others who live in a city. You’re doing everything right.

On a side note: I had a vision at the beginning of the video........a bride walking down the middle of the cherry trees full of beautiful pink blossoms.

Melissa, I love your recaps at the end of each vlog, and this one was so thoughtful. You and Jeremy have such great synergy. 💕 Kudos to Nevaeh for taking on dinner: she’ll have mad skills when she’s living on her own.

Oh my gosh, the beginning of the video at first I thought it was an advertisement for a movie. The little girl with her cute hat & the little boy walking down this heavenly beautiful path under gorgeous blooming trees. Seriously, it looked like a movie set, it was so beautiful and perfect, nothing looks like that in real life, does it? And then I recognized your children. Your garden is absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. 😍❤

Jeremy and Melissa...so glad I came across your channel. It's great watching your family be all-in on this journey of life. Melissa, your words of reflection at the end are so true. We now have 3 generations living under our roof and I tell our adult children that 'the days are long and the years are short' all the time. We do our best to capture the moments as they happen and to live each day in the moment. Life is a blessing and you are teaching your children the value of family and hard work. Jeremy, glad you were able to do your time as an officer and to make this life change. Our oldest daughter and her husband are both officers...you know what they face each day. Blessings on your journey and thanks for sharing with us!

Honestly I felt Melissa's eyes staring at me when she was talking about people thinking she was 50, lol. But we all know she'll be forever beautiful no matter her actual age, look'n fine lady, look'n fine. Things are coming together nicely...

LOL that’s how I taught my girl to cook. Now she’s two classes away from becoming an official chef. My kids were teased relentlessly by me. We homeschooled too. Now they’re ready for whatever the world throws at them.

Jermery, did you know you don’t need a knife to open the caulk? The gun actually has a hole, you insert the tip in and then you squeeze the handle and VOILA!!!! 🤣

even though it is satisfying to build things yourselves you are making the correct decisions by having professionals for certain aspects of your build such as the roof and major plumbing i would consider if i was doing the build to also employ a professional electrician for the rough in or first fix also for the drywall if not all mostly the taping and mudding.. but its fantastic to see it all comming together.
