@@freezasama5802 Yes, most of the time anime movies aren't canon and are just their own independent adventure, similar to filler arcs. There are sometimes exceptions though. In the case of Yu-Gi-Oh, the third movie Dark Side of Dimensions WAS canon. It's a continuation of the end of the Manga.
This sounds like a WAY better plot than the actual movie. Think about it, if the prologue of the movie was of Atem facing off against Anubis instead of Yugi assembling the puzzle. If Kaiba got the Shining Dragon and the Pyramid of Light of cards by obtaining the artifact. Then maybe the story of the movie would had been more coherent. Yes the problem with that is how the actual story did not progress enough to make this canon. Not to mention the dubious reason as to why Seto would uncover the Pyramid of Light. And finally how this sounds closer to the DSOD movie. But hey, just food for thought.
