That fight in the book is just epic ... I like that Daemon is superior to Aemond but Vhagar is superior to Caraxes which makes the fight kinda equal. Book Spoiler I like that Vhagar kills Caraxes while Daemon stabs Aemond with Dark Sister through his saphirre eye. It demonstrates what I wrote above...

I honestly think she should have taken Meleys and left, Meleys is my favorite, design wise. Could have spared her life rather than thinking she could have finished Vhagar n Aemond Sunfyre a close second, love his long horns

You would have thought an impact like that on the sheer bulk of Vhagar would have broken wing bones and thigh bones but no she just got up and flew again.Only weighs about approx 300 tonnes. Hitting the ground would do nothing at all
