The QUEST for Shiny Mew (and why China got the better game) 

The mew reaction was hilarious, absolutely love when shinies show up exactly when it would be funniest to.

Never really understood the reasoning behind why China had a different version of the game until now!!! I can only hope that maybe someday we see new Quest content worldwide

It’s really interesting to see the Chinese versions of games, it’s like looking into an alternate reality. Though looking more into the Chinese version of Minecraft, it seems that Apocalypse Mode is actually from a mod that had a trailer made for it so English-speaking people thought it was official. From what I’ve seen it seems to be mostly similar to our Minecraft except free to play stuff.

Honestly really cool that we're starting to get nostalgic for Pokemon's weird mobile games (that were always on Switch or 3Ds).

I understand why Adventure exists now, but I’m still bummed that with as popular as it is there’s no sign of a similar update for anyone outside of China. I can only assume it’s because of the licensing issues, a real shame. Nice video though! Very funny timing LOL

What the FUCK?! How is that FAIR that our Pokemon Quest only has lame Gen 1, but the Chinese one gets ALL THE GENERATIONS?! Not fair that the Chinese one has my favorite Pokemon, Flygon!

I literally redownloaded the game after seeing this video, and when I finished the curry I had left off on the very next pokemon I got was a shiny magnimite!! So thank you for getting me back into the game!

I think its bs that china and ONLY china get that way cooler version of Pokémon quest, everyone should be able to play that game.

Great to see Quest getting some love!! It was the first Pokémon game for Switch, it deserves it haha hope Pokémon Company see the potential the game has and bring more updates worldwide.. The chinese version looks really cool, loved the special themed Pokémon I'm right now trying to get the shiny starter trio, already got Venusaur and Charizard is next!

Wow.. this video made me want to play again.. i used to play but never even finished it. But now i feel motivated to actually try finishing it and try shiny hunting

Been aware of the Chinese version of Pokémon Quest for quite some time and always been sad we never the expanded version over here, though I understand why it's a shame because I really enjoyed Quest and was hoping they'd do more with it.

An unfortunate but fortunate at the same time of chinese versions of games is they will have some really cool stuff, however there is the issue of just that- can't help but feel sad about that. I enjoyed this video, might just get back into quest as I only got an hour or two into it the first time I played it.

I got back into Pokemon Quest recently after a few years and now I guess I can add this as a goal

Just a heads up, Pokémon from gold pots have a 300 stat boost, whereas Pokémon from the basic pot have no bonus. So using a Pokémon from a gold pot will make the dungeons way easier

I just finished replaying the entire last year for nostalgic purpose

5:22 as a teenager who has lived in china for 5 years, having to submit your id and face scan is in part due to chinese kids playing too much, so they passed a law for the “实名认证” system that basically checks if you are 18+ or not. iirc the rule for non 18+ people is that you can play for one hour on friday evening and on holidays. THATS IT. many people bypassed it by simply asking parents to do the submission, or just side loading a game available internationally via a vpn or knowing where to look. also the government is probably using the data for more but whatever

The reason why I stopped playing was because of the feel of the lack of content that the Chinese version fixes

I started to play again because of this video and got a shiny Abra and Articuno. I really love this game and enjoyed shiny hunting again. I hope that we maybe get a chance to see some new updates and content for the global version. This year is the perfect opportunity to give the game some love especially since no main game is coming in 2024.

I found it interesting that the local Asian grocery had Lego block blind boxes for this game; I have a few of them from there! Never got the Mewtwo one sadly, and they stopped selling them suddenly. Congrats on the wicked shiny though!

i will never forget the moment my stew that was supposed to give a blue pokemon gave me a ditto... and then i remembered what color ditto's shiny was right before seeing it. it was the first shiny i got from quest as well so i was shocked also not sure if the game is that smart about colors or if it was just luck but it was amazing either way

I would absolutely love Quest to be updated again to add more pokemon, or at least for the art style to be reused in a new game (on the switch 2 perhaps?). It sucks that the potential for what this game could’ve become is locked behind a firewall and that Nintendo shelved it entirely so soon after releasing it, because even though gameplay-wise it’s very lacklustre, being an auto battler and all, it was still super fun to hop on for half an hour or so and play out a few runs in the hopes of finding a shiny or rare pokemon from a dish.

I actually have a pokemon oc based on my quest playthrough so this game has a Special Place in my heart. I haven't managed to beat it yet though because I'm bad at grinding lol

The chinese version is what could've been. It makes me want to get back into the game and all but the global release doesn't have the complete pokedex and I don't think that'll be done for the foreseeable future which sucks.

That Shiny Mewtwo was stacked! 9 full Strength slots and only one attack?! I gotta see what the bingos on that thing are like! Also, it's a shame that we still have only Kanto in Pokemon Quest international

It’s time for Mewing

Unfortunately you cannot transfer from Quest to Home so (at least as of now) there is no reliable way to get shiny mew in a mainline game.

My first shiny is Shiny Magnemite which I immediately evolve into Magneton, it was gorgeous. Also, I think chinese version of the game has never been a problem, the real problem is the global version remains untouched for years, it can't be helped that we compare it with chinese version.

you reminded me of my shiny mew hunt in quest, i found 4 shiny mew2, 3 zapdos and 2 articuno, still no mew and moltres, today i'll pick it back up and try again
