Thanks! In 1964 when I was there the old " white of Morn" was more intact, but, life goes on. It's a shame the old cabin is tumbledown now. Duke and Maureen, we will never see their likes again. I miss them.

I have Scottish ancestry but, this movie tugs at my heart strings and is one of my favorites. Can’t believe the cottage has deteriorated so badly in 70 years.

Been to Cong and Ashford Castle, brings back memories.....

I was born and raised not that far from Cong and attended Dances in Cong as a Teenager ~ ~ Great to see all of these places ~ ~ Great Comedy Film of its time.

Never seen this film, but the merges of old and new darn near brought a tear to my eyes.

Brilliant work.. thank you so much for putting this together.. it really touched my heart.. my Mom and I would watch this film endlessly.. My Mom never made it back home to see her country.. but I will be soon there... I will be spending some time there.. just a wee quiet time thinking about my Mom.. and how much I miss her.

The Horse Race on lettergesh beach in Renvyle in Connemara galway Cohans pub in Cong which at the time there was no pub but today their is and the scene with Maureen o Hsra driving the Herd of Sheep shot in the Grounds of The buietiful Ashford Castle

that green railway walkover bridge in ballygluin (castle town) is the same bridge in ballinasloe train station but painted gray

Un film assolutamente unico

It’s astonishing how much “White O Morn” has deteriorated in only 63 years. Those look like 300 year old ruins.

This may not advance knowledge of the cottage’s demise but a Cong local - with whom I had a pleasant business dealing 2 years ago - told me he owned the “cottage” that was used in the filming of “The Quiet Man”. I didn’t inquire of him as to whether it was still on the “tourist trail” - or ever had been so - my understanding - from someone else - is that it had been open to visits at one stage. If anyone who’s watching this video and lives in Cong - and happens to know the man I’m referring to (obviously it’s not info I could give out over social media) - it would be great if this video was brought to the man’s attention; possibly lovers of this movie would be greatly interested to hear briefly about the cottage’s history in more recent years.

You forgot to film the famous fight through the town at the end.

Shame this famous farm house is ruined now. No one is looking after it. And lot of tress are gone too!
