Sure theres definitely agendas being pushed in modern Star Wars but i think the bigger problem is a mixture of over saturation of the market and the law of diminishing returns. add to that the fact the writing in most of these shows is derivative, formulaic and filled with broken logic in a lot of cases and you get too much of a watered down and frustrating product. its also occurred to me like it has with you that the reason the star wars movies were so special to most longtime fans is they were also events; a movie came out every 3 to 4 years letting anticipation build whereas now theres a new movie or especially tv show every few months, leading to the aforementioned over saturation. the MCU is in the same boat so its nothing to do with the IP, but rather the mismanagement of them. the other issue is that theyre essentially telling the same story as the original trilogy over and over now, and when they do try to "subvert expectations" like with the Last Jedi the audience has become so used to the same expected formula that "subverting expectation" becomes just a fancy way of saying disappointing the fans. star wars needs to go away for about a decade but in my book i have to be honest i think the original and prequel trilogy said everything that needed to be said.
Totally agree with your point. The people in charge don't understand, the history, the fans or what makes it great. Kennedy and Filoni want there own version of Star Wars and to lazy to make up their own universe, not that they are capable, now they want to force the audience into their weak stories. let us hope this failure will force them to shelf the ip and to go ruin some other beloved franchise.
I disavow anything during/after The Clone Wars. The SW galaxy had so much lore built by talented authors, developers, and artists; all their work snapped from canon. The true fans call it G-canon. Everything else is fraudulent.
