I agree, the one thing I immediately liked about the cinematic was that Braum was confirmed real and not just a myth (though we still don't know if he's still active in the current Runeterra time, or if he was active a long time ago as I don't think we can really place when this cinematic takes place (except maybe the presence of Frostguard, but I dunno them timewise)
@@cyanic3148 It is said that Braum eas the one that introduced Ashe to Tryndamere and they got married, from that I assume he is still active and that this is fairly "present"
I love how necrit explains almost every cinematic riot releases. He's turning the lol universe into some sort of a marvel universe right now with tons of stories and characters to cover up
To be honest, League of Legends has one of the best worldbuilding in any game I know; not really much. But I've read enough books to know this is some high-tier world and lore-building and it could probably stretch to 10 or more books if RIOT ever considers it. It is, by the classification of Fantasy, an Epic.
@@jinfra- indeed, and it's even better now because they now have a game that they can use as an anchor for all these lore and still not affecting League's internal consistency. It's gonna be really, _really_ big.
Im pretty sure Braum referred to her as "Cousin" because as Braum said in the beginning, all Freljordians are family, i wouldn't put it past him to just casually use cousin to refer to almost everyone hes friends with
It is common for some people to call other neighbours or friends or whatever: "cousins". However, I don't see braum just calling her like that because of being friendly on a dire situation like that.
@@artyomthefish3828 it depends on the habits of the people mostly, the owner of a burger joint from where I live always salutes customers and calls them cousins just cause.
The Frostguard soldiers sounding like animals is an artistic choice, its meant to represent those soldiers like a pack of Wolves that are hunting their prey.
Not to mention the fact that it was a "story" told from the avarosian perspective, which could lead to exaggerations when it comes to showing the enemies brutishness and animalistic behaviour.
9:45 I doubt whether that village really could be close to the other one. There are patches of open grass here and an unfrozen lac, while the other village was covered in snow, with the river and even the waterfall frozen. So, in all likelihood, Braum and his cousin just walked here after they survive the avalanche, as indicated by the footprints when the camera moves upwards to reveal the village, and we can't really know how long they walked in between.
@@alexursu4403 Well... while that is not confirmed, the opposite isn't confirmed either. Plus Trynadamere is special in other ways; like his thing with Aatrox which is probably still a thing
You should REALLY read the description of the cinematic: While defending HER tribe from a brutal attack, a young WARMOTHER entrusts Braum with the safety of HER infant child, before turning to face Lissandra's Frostguard alone.
Im not sure the iceborn is actually braum's cousin as if he says theyre all part of one family he could be using it as an endearing term to someone not directly related to him but i could be wrong. Edit: You also said that everyone who joins the avarosans is part of their family so i do believe that this is probably the case.
7:01 The child is hers. The description Riot gave says, "While defending her tribe from a brutal attack, a young warmother entrusts Braum with the safety of her infant child, before turning to face Lissandra’s Frostguard alone."
The cinematic made me cry so much, probably because I miss the people who I was supposed to rely on and call family. P.S.:Braum is such a comforting character, I love him
I think they got the inspiration of using the word COUSIN from Lilo and Stitch wherein Lilo told Stitch this "Now remember, in Hawaii everybody call each other COUSIN, not because we're all related, but because we are one big OHANA, we're a happy family" and in the movie, it is also mention that "'Ohana" means "family." "Family" means "no one gets left behind or forgotten." Just like what Braum did to his OHANA, he did left her to die 💕
Lol, I love the whole looking up of "Cousin" and him mentioning the whole step-sister (share parents by marriage) and sister-in-law (one is married to the other's sibling) that I thought was odd in Anne. Very entertaining, love your videos

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet, but the reason she can't move after her strike, is that the Frostguard slashes her Achilles tendon on that leg. That's why she can't walk, not because of any sort of power difference. You can see her favouring her right leg the entire time after. Kudos to Riot for the continuity as well.
I would really appriciate you to cover every cinematic. There is so much a simple viewer misses, it's nice when someone explains it and perhaps shows the easter eggs
I just want to take a moment to appreciate the artistry that the developers of the cinematics are putting on each one. From stitching the storyline, to the cohesiveness of the interiors and identity of each factions to the background music. We love me some game with a vast storyline 💙🧡
i don't think he literally meant "cousin" since braum said in freljord we are family and such, and adding braum's personality to the equation i think braum said cousin because of sympathy.
Great video! Didnt actually know what the frostguard armour looked like, but i think you might be reading too much into "cousin" part, in Braums narration, he explains that all freljordians are a big family, and sometimes they fight. So he might consider her family, but not blood-related, so cousin works.
Awesome lore explained, keep up the good stuff! only thing i think you got wrong and its really a small thing is that the cousin cant move because the soldier that is lying on the ice swings his hammer/sword at her ancle hurting her
What id like see for the next videos is: 1-Valorant lore 2-The cinematics 3-A follow up to the Demon tree after 1 month of it's release with the best theories
6:50 But it could make sense because of Lissandras passive (if im not uncorrect), that lets killed champions move for a bit and explode. Maybe she can use this power but to control them or let them be in a state like that, but more powerful
Necrit if you read the description on this video in League RU-vid channel, the cousin is a Warmother so maybe she is a warmother of a tribe allied with Ashe/Avarosans and Braum got a new bio as well or rather an update, saying Braum himself does not considers himself an Avarosan or any tribe he just travel and wanted peace/family union in Freljord but Avarosans consider Braum as theirs so yeah maybe Braum is helping other Avarosan warmothers and the child in the video is an Iceborn as well but who knows.
Ashe refers other people (complately unrelated to her) cousin too. Look at the recetly released freljord comics. And also braum sais we are all family. And the raided village was on top of a mountain while second willage was on sea level.
One potential option is that since braum is saying ‘everyone is family’, she might not directly be related to braum, but a ‘cousin’ in that they are both from freiljord and thus family
did anyone realize that they are fighting on a frozen waterfall that can be seen in the background when they introduce the new city da´arvog and that the frost guard came from the bottom drove them onto the frozen waterfall and then Braum and his cousin go down to the bottom again so the way wasn't the second village at the not raided as well
It would be so nice to have this subtitlted aswell, I love your voice, but it's much more easy to understand long sentences and names of people and places if it were subtitled
I personally think this specific short also reveals Braum's cousin as a potential new champ in League. Fun fact, years back there was a champion concept that has the likeness and abilities of Braum's cousin.
question about the village Braum and his cousin went to. when they showed the multiple footsteps in the snow leading to the reveal, could that have meant that they traveled for a long time?
i wanna see noxus already noxus has so many interesting characters from which im guessing we are going to see darius, swain or even morderkaiser maybe leblanc or vlad who knows im just very excited
As a Braum lover i coudn't desire more from a cineamtic, besides, if you are planning to do another "who would win", i would love a Sett vs Braum speculation, i believe is a fair fight and those 2 have very much in common as a real life fighint style i think!
2nd village would actually be further away, meaning 1st village is further north, but still within some walking distance, coz the snow from the avalanche shoulda basically buried parts of the 2nd village, and it was never specified if braum just went through the ordeal and boom village, it just cuts to the 2nd village
Just a thought but i saw a video saying that a leaked champion was called the guide from Freljord who fought with ice axes. Well the cousins weapon looked kind of like an ice axe, they were protecting a child and the whole thing took place on ice cliffs so where you would actually go ice climbing. we know riot likes to put in hidden set ups to upcoming champions and events so it could be linked.
