I think the new constellation is one of the messages to the people of Runterra about what they are supposed to do, like with the constellations warning about the watchers.
18:50 "Nothing in the lore even hints at what is happening here" Yes there is. When Pantheon died, his constellation disappeared from the night sky. These 2 just ascended Mount Targon and a new constellation showed up. Since the death of an aspect means the disappearance of a constellation, we can assume the emergence of a constellation means the birth of an aspect.
And considering that rakan and xayah have a skin of dawn and dusk as lovers in the same hands outstretched pose, and are celestials in TFT, this makes sense
Andrew Lemmon I kinda agree I think he was too focused on how we “don’t know any lore for these two kids”. It’s possible he simply didn’t think about the connections to the rakan and xayah skin or what constellations being made could mean, maybe just too much stress or too little time lately. He’s got a kid plus there’s like 100 new lore things coming out
@@WoodsRunner that actually doesnt work because the celestial skin line is not canon to the lore its an AU. The only thing they have to do with each other is a position which isnt even special since its been seen before in plenty of other art depictions.
I love how Leona became an aspect because she was extremely nosy, not because of her strength of character. Or maybe the sun likes nosy people. Point being, Leona just wanted to hangout with Diana.
The sun wants to view every area of runeterra. It constantly returns to see if anything has changed, it views peoples work and watches peoples lives. It is nosy
I think they literally make lore and make stuff, wait for necrit to explain then they just go "Yeah hes right thats exactly how it goes, this guy figured it out" then write it down for the next one
@@Syndra_maximoff1 Or just listen to the two minutes starting at 13:46 . Because there even Necric says that Diana can't control her powers and Leona is trying to help Diana control it
Ok hear me out. Constellations in Runeterra represent the Eternals (long forgotten deities of Runeterran history that are preserved in the Celestial Realm in the form of constellations and archetypes). These two mortals became deities that represent the union of the Solari and Lunari, they are the new Aspect of the Eclipse. The union of these two halves was fated to happen, the lunari girl saw it in a vision, this was destined to happen. Each aspect is an embodiment of a concept, this cinematic illustrates that a new "concept" has been created (or that a forgotten/dead one has been reincarnated), which most likely symbolizes the union of the two clans (Solari & Lunari). This is foreshadowing the eventual merging of these two clans that will settle thousands of years of conflict. This merging was probably destined to happen in preparation for something greater that requires these clans to join forces. As we know, the Void is like a bubble that is ready to burst, something big is about to happen. I agree that they awkwardly forced Leona and Diana to be in the cinematic, but that last bit shows Diana basically saying "I told you so." and Leona overwhelmed by the truth. Both of them were destined to see the creation/reincarnation of the Aspect of the Eclipse because both of them are leaders in their respective clans that must make the merge happen.
Wow, great explanation and it makes sense now perfectly. And more to add, the boy walked to the cliff carrying the lunary girl, not because of he believed that pathway story. He just did what his girl wanted because she was dying and he knew he'd never save her. So he thought it's better to die together rather than watching his loved one to die in his arm.
The best lore explanation on this channel Necrit: "I just don't know, Targon is swirly. Things happen." Also this cinematic still has more lore than Gragas
It's because they are preparing something huge for gragas. They are probably going to show us that indeed, gragas is the most powerful being in all the universes and the answer to stop the watchers
Nobody talks about how the Arbiter got those big metal circles, like the ones that are leading the way to the mountain. Probably the Arbiter threw them down so people know where to climb up. Any thoughts Necrit?
@@daenithriuszanathos9306 that's quite farfetched considering that watchers can't just manifest giant crystal bodies with metallic rings around themselves and the fact that it has only one eye doesn't really prove anything
So, the weird thing is in the constellations of the kids it’s very representative of the Cosmic Xayah and Rakan skins. Which makes this all even more confusing.
I’m speculating soraka is behind this and she lead those two to the eclipse to convey a message to both Leona and Diana. As necrit explained in sorakas lore, rather than redesign the people of Runetera on what the celestials intended she’s guiding certain people to the righteous path. This could be the plan we didn’t know about, the two ascended to the stars and created the “eclipse constellation” and the constellation is the message to Leona that the Lunari exist this makes more sense since the celestials used star constellations to convey messages to the people but Soraka did it with a more upfrontal way. This kills two birds in one stone, she saves the solari boy and lunari girl and hopefully unites the people of Solari and Lunari by influencing Leona to collaborate with Diana.
i think there's also a pretty obvious parralel to be drawn with Leona and Diana and the two kids. literal star crossed lovers kept apart because of their devotion to their fate. signified by the literal cliff between them
I know its probably not the case, but i like to think the relationship between that couple is mirroing what Leona and Diana could be, together as part of the same circle and thats the reason they are gazing at each other not knowing how to make it happen, and also im all in for the gay so....
Hes(or that being) is already in LoR but if it will be in LoL it would pretty much belittle Nasus. Nasus is like a celestial and one of nasus looks like the arbiter. But i think the arbiter is like the Egyptian Myth who lets the undead pass through the gate to the underworld.
diana: "why tf you didnt ulti the arrow wtf dude you trolling" leona: "STFU it was on cd! why didnt yu destory ig twith your powetrs?!?!" diana: "shut up troller muted"
Ok, so here are my explanations for some things here: I think 'The Lunari are already here' could refer to Aphelios' sister, Alune, or to the moon itself (aside from, of course, Diana). I agree with the reason Necrit gave for why Leona is chasing them. The best thing I can think of as to why Leona didn't burn the arrow (other than them needing a reason for Diana to get mad) is that the moon is blocking the sun, and so her powers are dulled/nullified temporarily. I think what happened to the Solari boy and Lunari girl is similar to how Alune was able to cross into a temple in the spirit realm during a special occurance involving the moon (when the physical and spiritual reflections of the moon aligned), just in a lesser way. When Alune crossed over, the entire temple crossed into the physical realm, and she went back with it into the spirit realm. It could be possible that the solar eclipse, since it was a lesser event, wouldn't allow structures to cross, but still allowed them to cross. It could also be that the solar eclipse allowed Alune, who normally requires a conduit such as the noctum Aphelios drinks, to project her power and help them cross over, or just to form the path. Oh, and I think the two figures in the sky kind of mirror the idea of Aphelios and Alune: "...their souls brushing across the veil, distant, yet impossibly close, converging into something they could not understand."
I think the new constellation is one of the messages to the people of Runterra about what they are supposed to do, like with the constellations warning about the watchers.
"Pantheon", remember the aspect of war is dead because it was slain by Aatrox. So Pantheon may take the appearance of the aspect of war, but he himself is just a person, named Atreus who despite losing or winning never gives up.
@@JoshTGW Yes I am aware but Atreus doesn't use his own name anymore, generally calling himself 'Soldier' but that would make my comment even more confusing. It's just for recognition.
@@JoshTGW Atreus is basically the celestial now. The old one died in the first fight with Aatrox and as the powers were fading he went back to fight Aatrox, and because he did he re-ignited the Celestial's star himself regaining the powers. He's essentially the only mortal to actually turn into an actual celestial is what i got from his story because he literally made the power and star his own. Kinda akin to My hero academia in a sense with OfA's embers. The power wasn't completely gone yet but passed on to Atreus. " Forsaking his own name, he has become a new Pantheon-the Aspect’s weapons fueled by the will to fight that can only exist in the face of death" is literally at the end of his bio
I dont know why but I feel like the lovers represent leona and diana. Who were torn apart by their own two contrasting faiths. They probably loved each other at one point and when they met it actually looked like they missed each other.
I just wanna pointed out that when the Solari boy and lunari girl stepped onto the stairs of heaven (or whatever)she was fine,so my speculation is,two of them fell from the mountain and killed themselves. It was their souls that was set free....
Targon is pretty good on lore but its civiization is a bunch of dicks. Solari kill anyone wh doesnt praise the sun, they ensalved a cosmic dragon, the aspect of war forced himself to take control of pantheon, zoe is a dick to everyone, etc,etc
Don't underestimate gragas, for soon he shall become so powerful, the universe will be whatever he wants it to be. The hardest choices require the strongest wills
Necrit daddy, Taric reveal just came and on the early part of the showcase there's the constellation in the Targon region reveal (they really are representing the aspects)
I think this cinematic shows that slowly leona and diana are trying understand each other now and that something big will happen that will cause the lunari and solari to fight together against something else
It's interesting coming back to this especially around the 13:50 mark, knowing that Leona and Diana were in a relationship, so it was likely leona was starting to doubt the Sun's followers' righteousness and hesitated in case she made a mistake. Probably also saw themselves in the boy and the girl in some way.
The constellations are how the Celestials try to communicate with the humans. So this "magical eclipse"s purpose was to give humans a message, and seeing how a lunari and a solari joined to make a whole circle, it probably hints at how they will (or should?) Join forces in order to become whole
Footprints isn't that strenge, because it's mount Targon. There is a lot of rocks, but also a lot of dirt, soil, etc. Small particles of dirt and soil can be transport with wind, so flat rock surfaces will be full of dust and sand.
After Tarics reveal in LOR, i am sure the two lovers turned into one aspect (my guess they became the aspect of faith). Every constellation for the Targon reveal represents an aspect, proved by Tarics reveal trailer. Another interesting part is, that the Targon trailer shows 7 constellation, but we only know 6 aspects, who are also champions in LOL (maybe 7 if u put Morgana and Kayle as two sepperate identities, but i think thats not the case). So the only Aspect lore-wise known and not being a champion is the aspect of the wanderer. If we will get a new unknown character as aspect, it would be very dope.
I'm confused to way did he pull out the arrow from her literally even in ancient times people knew that's the last thing u want to do because ironically the arrow actually slows down the bleeding
Yeah and most arrows are created in a certain shape that makes it very difficult to pull it out like that and if she survives that, she will probably die a few weeks later because she would be very sick
@@banana_1_ I am loving the positivity coming from you and the fact that you completely understand that this is a joke and didn't overreact about it. I wish you a very nice day and ask you to explain why your profile picture is a carrot.\ Nice spelling btw
I wouldn’t call it sexual tension.. what I believe we are seeing is this: Diana and Leona did love each other, but then Diana became Lunari, so Leona rejected her. We are seeing Diana’s pain and some semblance of Leona being sorry or having some regret.
Diana looking at Leona thinking "it could have been us, but you're too afraid". The two lovers in the cinematic clearly represent Leona and Diana. And I think they just become the constellation, the lovers constellation, which is the same as Xayah and Rakan splashart for the Cosmic skinline.
@@HeroOfJusticeYT Well when their original character designer gets asked the question "So are they canon lesbians or??? I know you don't work at riot anymore, can you tell us if they were ever planned to be a couple?" And he replies with "We wanted them to be scorned lovers who couldn’t be together because of like.. Religion." We don't know if Riot will go ahead fully with this direction or not, but it was clearly at least planned for the two of them from the start.
She died and he committed suicide having faith in the moon magic. At least that's what I think. It also ties back into the Romeo and Juliet theme. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I feel like this would be a better cinamatic for Diana's old lore, since they were enemies and Diana seems in control of herself. I think it's meant to show them that they can work together (perhaps be lovers even) without having to fight eachother.
Because of the fact that The Dark Star is the multiverse entity, and so must be Cosmic ones, I bet they will make it canon. I just love this skin universe as much as the main canon. Rito, pls.
The thing is that those gates at the beginning the "Marus Omegnum ", the one from the "Farewell Ceremony" and the "Thresholds" all have a different meaning which is why in my own video I corrected myself when I regarded that gate as the "Magnus Omegnum", The Magnus Omegnum is the Lunari temple fortress Alune walked into so she could enter the spirit realm and it only shows during special lunar events when the temple literally phases into the physical realm from the spirit realm. IT. IS. HUUUUGE in size when comparing it to this small one. The Omegnum is not anything like the Threshold we see in the cinematic which is just a metallic stone that fell from the mountain like you've mentioned yourself And the Gate in "The Clib" (Farewell ceremony) looks like it has nothing to do with the peak, because in the Farewell Ceremony you dont ascend through the Aurora like they did but wait for a Portal to be opened so one of the aspects could chose their vessel. The lore is still all over the place for me so hopefully they'll update it hahaha
Im dissapointed that Necrit didn't get that lovers died but their souls went up to sky. Thats the reason why girl stops touching the place where she was hurted cuz she is no longer in her body.
i like the idea, but i like your name and profile picture more. btw small funfact: when they both form the costallation, thats ne same pose hat cosmic dusk Xayah and Rakan are doing in there splashart. i dont thing thou it brings more lore or somthing to this :3
@@ovgusteph9531 omg Steph its you! You still think you can beat me in games? Well the possibility of beating me is the same as the possibility of NGNL season 2 soo. 😞😂
When she meant that the Lunari are already there, she could be referring to the Lunari Spirit Realm Temple, the Marus Omegnum where Alune currently is. Only the gifted in magic are accepted there and she saw a vision so maybe she is some kind of oracle or something? Maybe thats why Leona had to assist the guards in getting her back despite her semi-divinity and Diana ensuring that someone from the Lunari faith crosses the spirit veil safely.
I think the Myisha storyline will be further expanded on the release of Shurima, they'll probably add lore to Sivir too, what with her lorewise OP "chalicar", which isn't really reflected in gameplay. I really want a Sivir rework, I mean she's the cheapest ADC and you can't even get an S on her no matter how hard you try.
@@fitmotheyap I disagree myself as a mastery 7 Sivir. But that's more dedication than skill. I took her mid for easier S ranks and did good most games. The farming was easy with both of the mana regain runes, and essence reaver. The early game burst was surprising good when no support was there to heal them. And lots of complaining about my spell shield. Max that second for the sweet sweet cooldowns.
@@SWARVB see, you had to take her mid to get an s, despite being m7. That's what overuse in proplay does to a champion. Regardless, I feel like her q being her only source of real damage, and everything else just protection and utility, alongside her low auto range makes her less fun to play. Sure it may be extremely effective in late hame teamfights, that's why the pros love it. But I much rather prefer interesting kits like vayne with the assassin style or trist or cait. Felt bad coz sivir was the 1st champ I bought to experiment on adc and never had an S on her (obviously botlane)+she doesn't feel as fun to play.
Also the 3 new units arts are telling a short story through the art, Tyari the traveler is the main character and he is grouped with Mountain Sojourner (the woman) and a guy who we still dont know if he will be a card, the 3 are climbing Mount Targon, then in Mountain Sojourner art you can see the 3 are on the sides of the mountains, and lastly in the Arbiter of the Peak art you can see that the Arbiter is pointing/talking to a person and that person is Tyari who is the only one of the 3 that holds a staff in his hands. This means Tyari has ascended the mountain while the other 2 are missing suggesting they have fallen on their tracks, which leads to him ascending to be a new aspect which might also be a card that is still not revealed yet or a future character we might see in the later in stories.
Hi NECRIT I kinda missed ur videos and contents , it always draw me attention and I keep watching again and again your past videos , I hope you Never give up
10:43 Possibly due to clay surface often found in mountain growths environments. As rocks erode/breakdown and same path may have been worn out by many who might have made the journey. 😁. Only speculation. Both Leona and Diana had expression of disbelief, both didn't know what is happening, I assume a prophecy like a vision girl had was coming true. A consalation marking unity between both fractions. If anyone is curious, the ending speeches is episode of Simpsons where Seymour burns roast in preparation for lunch promised to principal charmler and the whole kitchen smokes. 😆😄.
Cinematic „explained“. Necrit: Ye I don’t really know what and why all this stuff happens, but here is some Diana and Leona Lore (Oh and, Swirls!) :D. Still love the video tho
I really hope Riot immortalize Necrit in League, somehow. Either make a character that's him in Legends of runeterra, or refer to him somehow, like a historian Ryze skin or whatever.
note that the scene where it shows them in the sky looks a lot like cosmic dawn rakan and cosmic dusk xayah, so I think this is the lore of those 2 skins maybe
I mean, this cinematic was pretty terrible story wise, and even the animation is clumsy. Compare this to the Noxus cinematic. The girl there, a new character, has much more development than these two teens here. In a very short time you can see the actions she makes according to her initial mentality, then her reaction to what happens right after, and her final decision. You can see the emotions on her face the whole time. Here, these teenagers don't express ANY emotion aside from... melodramatic teen angstiness and a vague sense of urgency. And the literal only thing they talk about is that prophecy this video is all about. These two people are not characters. They're plot devices, a metaphor. There's no point in caring about them, we only need to care about what happened around them.
Hey Necrit, first of all, love your content. If it wasn't for your channel, I would have never gotten into the lore of League so thank you for that. What I wanted to ask was, if I were to make captions for the video, would you put them in or do you already have someone else making captions for you? Honestly, I kind of enjoy making captions for videos and I was wondering if you would use my captions (depending on how well I did them) before I actually make them in case I just spent an hour for no reason, you know? Once again, keep up the good work!
The constellation scene could be inspired by Greek Mythology, in that when someone or something dies, the Gods would occasionally turn them into constellations so that they would be remembered forever.
Can we take a moment to just talk about how the lunari keep getting cool lore stories and powers, and visions and stuff. While all the Solari seem to get is... *Aggressive Photosynthesis*
