Funnily enough, the void lore from the last bonus quest from doing all role quests in ShB is more relevant to the current story than Void Ark. Storywise, on the one hand, the implications of this AR would've been useful in helping the EW main crew deal with their current predicament (the giant ship that can fire a void portal, the compass, the nullstone, etc.). On the other hand, I don't think the players would want to make another alliance raid be a mandatory requirement for the MSQ when we already have Crystal Tower. If there's any consolation by doing this, The Four Lords and the Sorrow of Werlyt, you can now do Tataru's Grand Endeavor if you ever want to do them in the future. Pint is right about the way this raid is structured. Since this raid was released during HW, you can definitely see that both the developers and the writers are still trying to find their bearings before finally figuring out what they really want to do in the later patches. A time capsule is what I think best fits this raid. Comparing the structure of both story pacing and mechanics of Void Ark against something like Myths of the Realm is like night and day. Anyway congrats to finally finishing this AR. With this I believe you're caught up with all raid contents so far. You definitely want to do the last Myths of the Realms blind and with your FC if you're able. Day 1 AR is crazy experience, no doubt this final one will be a blast.
I'm surprised Pint hadn't done this until recently, considering the Black Mage discipline in ff14 originates from Mhach. The Weeping City of Mhach was effectively a city of black mages.
3:16:45 Important to note, "the game's gotten harder because jobs have more buttons to press, HW was boring" wasn't true during HW, HW has so few buttons now because each expac, they take buttons from low levels to give to high levels for new spells. Back during actual-HW, jobs had just as many buttons as they do now at max level.
@@ruily276Man some people just like running everywhere or riding chocobo on the ground. I love running around i can take in the environment and everything and enjoy the world they put time in to make. Seems silly to me personally to rush and fly over everything
Lore related to void ark: it was a means of escape for the black mages during one of the calamities but... as you can guess, it didn't end well for them. Most of the information is given in Encyclopedia Eorzea
I love the Void Arc arc. And I love the raids, but you sure gotta respect the mechanics. Nothing like Dun Scaith to make me feel all warm and happy, proportional to the amount of people blown off the ship in the Death Gaze fight.
thing is with pvp, not everyone is a streamer or even knows that many people who are online at the same time to coordinate with frontlines. So i stick with CC
3:24:57 Hard disagree here. Almost everything I've been into from base game after their changes feels worse to me. I don't mind that they chopped up the main quest roulette dungeons into 3 instead of 2, but they feel incomplete with all of the things that have been cut or changed. The boss fights are an improvement but everything else about the dungeons that was changed feels bad compared to what it originally was. I also ironically find myself not wanting to do MQ roulette at all now despite the fact that Square changed them to make people want to do them more, since part of the reason I'd get motivated to do it was because a big 8 player dungeon was such a cool idea and unique thing to experience, now I just don't care because its just like everything else. Same for a lot of the other dungeons too, I hate what they did to Thousand Maws. I was so worried they would ruin Luigi's Mansion too, but thankfully all they did was put a teleport interactable after the second boss, the only change to that was necessary.
Pint, I may have missed this if you talked about it already, but do you plan to play FF16 a little after it’s release? I’d watch the shit out of that (the vods at least)
Pint keeps repeating this over and over again and it kills me. "I need something as my main thing again after XIV", "Well I can't stream savage it'll be boring for people" etc. People are watching his streams because of HIM, his presence, his jokes, his personality, not because of what content he plays. I hope he understands that someday. Also Hildibrand counts! Especially if you want ENW relic weapons. It's not for everyone, so I don't mind people skipping cutscenes, I myself skipped ENW hildibrand, but what I'll say is 100% DON'T SKIP HEAVENSWARD HILDIBRAND. It's genuinely amazing.
Honestly its more the fact that fun on stream vs fun off stream is very different It's a lot more work to inject personality when there's hours of reading to do, or intense mechanics to focus on. Some content compliments my personality and entertainment, and some content kind of detracts from it, regardless of whether or not the actual content is good/fun for me off stream. I'm not super anxious about what to do next. I've had it pretty easy with stream content for a while, and now I have to be a tiny bit more proactive with stream content that I both enjoy and I feel compliments my style of streaming. I also must admit I don't want my success as a streamer to be completely tied to the FFXIV patch cycle, so part of it is going to be doing variety in a way that feels like an upgrade rather than a downgrade. I've been streaming for years but I finally feel ready and im excited for the future, got some good stuff planned I think B^)
@@PintVods Yeah I can understand that tbh. I only stream savage /deep dungeons etc privately for my friends, so it's super easy because I personally know them, but when it's for hundred/thousands of unknown followers it must feel completely different too! I found you via WoW first, years ago, and I watched everything even if I had already quit WoW by then (I started XIV 4 years ago). And I'm def sticking around no matter the content and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I hope you have fun experimenting on what to stream tho, and find your own balance, cause only you know best on what to do :) I just wanted to make sure you knew people are here for you and not JUST your content! Especially since yeah..FFXIV has months of emptiness in between patches (which is nice to do other things, really). I was afraid it was a confidence thing and not just a musing of what content fits your person & stream etc. So I'm relieved to hear that ! Eager to see what's next then! B)
@@PintVods so you plan to do deep dungeon and other ffs POOOG LETS GOOOO!. Honestly be entertaining thats it! However it would be nice to see you doing criterion Hf and have a great day
I completely agree about Hildibrand, the first few quests were great and I enjoyed playing through them without skipping, but there are SO MANY other quests to do that I've been putting it off for probably 2+ years as well. I've done every bit of side content alongside the expansion MSQ but Hildibrand was something I ignored because I knew how long it was and I wanted to stop myself from skipping it. I keep telling myself, one day I will return to it and actually read the dialogue, but that day hasn't come yet lol
I thought the exact same thing. One day, I talked myself into ''just doing it'' and so I started and honestly it didn't take as long as I expected. The quests were fun and entertaining enough that I really did not mind at all what happened. The Heavensward one even has a captivating story on top of all that silliness! Can highly recommend that to be something to do if you just can't figure out what to do one day, slowly getting through it, 'cause at the end of the day there's no rush! ^^
*looks at last bosses of Void Ark, Weeping City, and 2nd-to-last boss of Dun Scaith* You'd think THIS would be the optional alliance raid most relevant to Pint's interests before EW for *ahem* reasons.
I hate to say it but I really think he missed out not doing these at min-ilevel. There's a lot of mechanics that are just made irrelevant because of how quickly the boss dies. It might not have made for a bunch of wipes but it at least makes people need to pay attention.
Talking about Stormblood and being political I'm not gonna lie in-universe politics in shows/movies/games can be good, just look at Clone Wars. That had a LOT of in-universe political shit, and (when it wasn't romance drama with Padme, thankfully that only happened a few times) that was really damn good and entertaining to watch and was part of what made Clone Wars so good.
I have a suggestion if you're looking to do something WAY off the wall when you're not in FFXIV: Give the Ocarina of Time + Majora's Mask Combo Randomizer a shot with as many settings as possible while keeping it in Normal Logic and try to aim for 100%! I can't tell you where to go, because of a certain system that will eradicate my Zeldas whenever I post them.
I also skipped all of Ivalice and and most of Nier and they’re also my favourite raids. In fact I skip most side content story if they don’t catch my attention in the first couple of quests. I blame my ADHD
I probably skip the alliance raids if someone didn't drag me(they made me a piece of gear even to hit the ilvl requirment) as I stop playing at when they finally add new content, but burn out, fc lost, being alone(still is) and thinking stuff added was high end difficulty stuff you need static(something I failed to have)
Pyromancer bit wasn't really what I came to this video for & left enough of a bad taste in my mouth to not continue it. I really don't see the problem w/ ignoring he exists, but I have a feeling that his mental health problems drive engagement for you guys (including this comment I'm typing) the thing about REAL mental health issues - and what it REALLY means to de-stigmatize them - is they *do* repeat, there *is* an accessibility issue built into the de-platforming hate mob issue, & it is 100% totally possible and doable to not saying anything at all if you have nothing nice to say. That's it. It's between him and his audience if you don't like it or can't tolerate it. Folks like me draw a lot of strength from watching someone like Pyro stand up to a two-face like Xeno & Ginger, so I'm rooting for him the more the oligarchical clout-driven FFXIV content creation community hates on him. I support ya'lls videos less and less and his more and more and I play the game more and more and get my sources from direct lines more and more rather than this gatekeeping circlejerk you see when it comes to Twitch & RU-vid Just speaking truth to power : )
Pyro is unworthy of this amount of your attention to be honest. Just play the game and enjoy yourself rather than getting caught up in streamer drama that ultimately doesn't benefit you in any meaningful way. Focus on your own needs and wants rather than latching onto anyone else to give you that fulfillment: not your friends, not your family, not even your lover (though you should of course be considerate of them if you value them), and especially not some online influencer you only watch and aren't actually friends you talk to and hang out with IRL. Just food for thought, but feel free to ignore me because at the end of the day, I'm also just some random fucker online with their own opinions, flaws and biases.
