I met Gina Birch when I was 19 in the mid-1990s. We hung out at her place and she gifted me a cassette of a group she began with Vicky Aspinall in the wake of The Raincoats’ dissolution called Dorothy. The Sweetest Pain was about going to an attractive therapist’s office and laying their couch… “but talking is all you ever want me to do”. I don’t have the titles in front of me. Chrysalis sat on the record. Gina was really nice to me. The newly reformed Raincoats were about to travel to Zurich for a show. I adored Moving and Odyshape.

Does anyone know why these tracks were not reissued on CD? I wanted to ask Ana or Gina in 2012 when the Raincoats performed live at Chop Suey in Seattle, but never had an opportunity. And then The Body was removed from digital versions of Moving and replaced with Running Away.
@@michaelbeblowski4548 wish I knew...can't remember if the CD reissue liner notes mentions it (would check mine but it's in storage)...Gina, Ana et al are on IG, should you ever want to DM them. Cheers ✌
@@Godloveszaza John Peel said when the Slits came in to do a session, they had no idea of the concept of tuning their instruments, the studio crew had to do it for them
