The 2025 Ram 1500 REV is an exciting addition to the electric pickup truck market, joining the ranks of models like the Ford F-150 Lightning and Rivian R1T. This fully electric pickup offers impressive features and capabilities.
The REV is essentially an electric version of the gas-powered Ram 1500, retaining its rugged body-on-frame chassis and distinctive LED lighting. While the initial concept was futuristic, the production model resembles its gasoline counterpart. It will be available as a crew-cab model with a short bed, offering two battery pack options. The larger battery pack provides a remarkable 500-mile range and the ability to tow up to 14,000 pounds, depending on the chosen options. Ram plans to utilize an 800-volt architecture for quick DC fast-charging.
As for pricing and trim levels, Ram hasn't disclosed those details yet, but it's reasonable to assume a starting price similar to the F-150 Lightning, which starts at around $58,000. Higher trim levels are likely to follow suit with the premium pricing of the Lightning.
The Ram 1500 REV offers two battery packs, both with all-wheel drive. The 168-kWh battery is more affordable, boasts a higher towing capacity, and delivers 654 horsepower with 620 pound-feet of torque. While details on the larger 229.0-kWh battery are limited, it's expected to offer a reduced maximum towing capacity due to increased curb weight. Ram anticipates acceleration to 60 mph in around 4.4 seconds. The truck also features four-wheel steering for improved maneuverability and an adjustable air suspension for varying ground clearance.
In terms of towing and payload capacity, the REV can tow up to 14,000 pounds with the smaller battery pack, and it has a payload capacity of 2700 pounds. Models equipped with the larger battery may have reduced towing capacity.
For range and charging, the REV comes standard with all-wheel drive and offers two battery sizes. The smaller 168.0-kWh battery is estimated to provide up to 350 miles of range, while the larger 229.0-kWh battery aims for at least 500 miles. The 800-volt architecture enables DC fast-charging at rates up to 350.0 kWh, equating to around 100 miles of range added every 10 minutes during optimal charging.
The interior of the fully-electric Ram 1500 continues the tradition of offering a luxurious and high-quality cabin. Its electric powertrain allows for innovative storage solutions, with adjustable seating and storage areas that can accommodate objects up to 18 feet in length. The truck features a powered frunk, side steps, and a rear tailgate for ease of use. Additionally, a larger Ram Box with a multifunctional tailgate is expected to be included in the production version. The concept's cab is 4.0 inches longer than the current Ram 1500 crew cab and includes a set of jump seats that create a third row.
The REV's interior technology is impressive, with two 14.5-inch touchscreens powering entertainment functions. It offers a 360-degree camera, digital side-view mirrors, and a head-up display, along with voice assistance from both Android's Alex and Apple's Siri. The infotainment system includes a Smart Home Control function, allowing passengers to control lights, cameras, thermostats, and audio systems at home from the truck's front seat. Expect standard features like wireless phone charging, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay to carry over from the gas-powered Ram.
In summary, the 2025 Ram 1500 REV is a highly anticipated addition to the electric pickup truck market, offering a range of capabilities, impressive technology, and the promise of a luxurious interior. While pricing and trim details are still pending, it's poised to be a strong contender in the electric truck segment.

Every Dodge Ram I’ve ever owned has been a nightmare, with terrible dealer support. Never again. Cybertruck is ugly but so practical that it will be my next truck

Ditto. I love my 2013 Laramie/Longhorn with $175k on it, stole it in 2014 for 32k. But the manifolds & rear end have been on borrowed time for 20k & I'm still using it daily. But with gas $$ running >$4800/yr, the thought of an EV truck is very appealing.

I like the styling, I hate the new Silverado EV "cough Avalanche" , the Lightning is ok, the Hummer EV is just stupid. The Cybertruck is unique in the way of not being a truck.

Agree it looks cool. I still think it will be too expensive for what it delivers

One of the reasons I love my Lightning so much is that is basically just a regular F150, but electric. I think the Ram REV is nice for the same reason. Though I have serious doubts about it being in anyway affordable lol

It's not just that. They wont make many of them and the goal of end of 2024 probably will turn into 2025 or latter for any serious production.

$81K for the Limited trim according to a recent report by Visual Capitalist which compared to the competition is relatively cheap; the F-150 Lightning Platinum sets you back just over $91K and both the Silverado and Sierra EV's in their RST and Denali trim levels are aiming for over $100K.

@@8bitbunny And you base this on what? Just because other companies are struggling doesn't mean Stellantis will; in fact it's more logical to suggest otherwise because Stellantis isn't rushing their EV's like Ford and GM.
