I took a trip to Hope, British Columbia Canada and went to the famous Rambo bridge. The only problem is Sherif Will Teasle hated the bridge so much he decided to have it removed. Something about too many bad memories or some such!

The main reason why it was removed was the logs used to build the bridge were creosote-soaked and was rotting away. It had to be remove so it wouldn't contaminate the river which supported a lot of fish. The original wooden bridge was actually to the left of the new bridge. They also needed a larger bridge due to increase traffic in the area.
The council members of Hope were stupidly short sighted, seeing as the town's economy relies on tourism - Wikipedia says 17.1%. That bridge was beautiful,
