Super pumped to hear that Kevin is bringing his podcast back! Definitely a premium-level podcast. Startups with deep pockets will be wise to tap into Kevin's platform. Especially considering he's the consummate early-adopter bringing things to the masses.
42:30. It is incredible to see Kevin question Tim on CP, its almost really uncomfortable because its so real and you can see Tim squirm a tiny bit. For these two legends so share such vulnerability and trust between themselves, let alone on a pod to us, is just huge to me. Being this trusted person to someone else, and finding the same for yourself…super amazing
I need to continue here or miss the real, profound message…as Tim explaining that silliness of CP is the cheat code to safely unlock “risk free” creative expression…and that more should do it…incredible insight and advice.
First time I ever heard of Time Ferriss was on Kevin's Foundation podcast. Having been in a period of mourning over the end of Diggnation, I absolutely becaome and early devotee to Foundation. Thanks Kevin for introducing me to Tim, and thank you Tim for continuing these amazing dialogues
Just the thought of being a part of a stream where fans can listen along to an audiobook or even watch docs/movies with Tim in the future sounds like a dream!
Tim needs to stop bullshitting and be honest with himself. It's incredibly clear from the way he has talked about Cockpunch again and again that he's framing it as a joke so that he can always claim it was just that-a joke. It's an obvious defense mechanism and it doesn't take someone who knows him as well as Kevin to notice it.
Fun show. California Grown Coffee from FRINJ Coffee is a nice affordable luxury. I often describe that to people when they say, who is gonna pay $20 for a cup of coffee. Unaware of the negative feedback loop they are reinforcing that stems from colonial start-upism. Tasting coffee that is under 4-6 months is off harvest can be a mind-blowing experience. It's meant to be consumed within six months off harvest and most of the coffee from other countries arrives into the US 6 months after harvest (longer recently.) 95 plus. The perennial polycultures we are creating with combining coffee shrubs to the existing Avocado orchards is a great way of increasing the soil biodiversity. Also, growing at the edge of the post-neo-colonial reckoning in coffee industry death and rebirth globally, Californian growers are radically participating in collaborating with the greater succession the last batter Nature demands. I am working on this, in the lands of my birth.
At 34:00 he's talking about a mild OCD diagnosis, but previously he talked about perfectionism and not being able to give out control, which sounds a lot more like OCPD (Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder). Those are not the same, but they are often mistakes for each other.
Genuine question regarding the watch discussion: If you're buying a swatch version of a speedmaster because it looks similar, why not just buy a speedmaster replica? what difference is there between buying a swatch speedmaster lookalike vs a replica?
Really disappointing hearing Kevin talk so fondly about his OF subscription and how his wife gave him a pass for it. From a duo I used to really look up to as well.
Cheers to YT algorithms! Random Show throwback from 13 years ago: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-G3q9nBxuemo.html Hilarious trip down memory lane...
Two things. I tried to find a place where Rhonda Patrick had endorsed the peptide in One Skin. Was this in a private conversation between her and K Rose? Second - the Vanguard fund Kevin touts is not a tax free fund….I think you have to buy treasuries directly for the tax benefit.
A new old school Tim ferrris book incoming, so exciting lol I wonder who is the mysterious co-author ... hummm lol been a huge fan of him since The 4-hour body!
“On Being” Podcast June 2022 conversation between Ocean Vuong and Krista Tippett is one of the best ever. Highly recommended for those curious to hear Ocean’s voice speak his own words. If you’re not a fan of his already, you will become one.
Commenting already... surely a lay-up with kid gloves would be difficult? 😀 Love these episodes - it turns out that podcasters are just silly people who like to have fun! Ethan Hawke's speech/talk was great - excellent suggestions for someone not exploring their creativity properly.
IF I'm remembering right, Tony Robbins was offering "state, story, strategy" as a menu of different levers for personal change, rather than as a sequence. You can try them all!
I’d like to link the ‘translating poetry’ conversation to the Kingkiller Chronicle mention earlier-re-reads of that series are wild, because the books are so meticulously written, with so much foreshadowing and so many hints and clues, that translations of them actually have to be more like translating poetry than translating most other books
Name of the Wind is fantastic but I would have a hard time recommending it as the author doesn’t seem to be able to land the 3rd book. I’d have to guess it’s been over 10 years now.
It was DOPE, I wasn't well and had a severe headache but listened to the whole podcast from beginning to end. Can't belive that, it was that much engaging, Thank you Tim and to Kevin 🙏
Why does Kevin sound like he's been drinking, regardless of what time of day the podcast is? Every podcast with Kevin Rose, he's getting drunk or is slurring his speech, even in early afternoon.
tim be open to the fact that your OCD can be from a virus effecting the brain, or heavy metals effecting the brain or just bad subconscious programs. I'd start with a 2-3 month certain type of detox. and then i would try neurofeedback and i'd use Psych K. when i worked with people to overcome fears i never saw Psych K not work. Its been around 20 plus years and for example i had a guy that hadnt left his apartment in 2 years and i got him outside in 10 mins. its that good.
yes its that simple...... i've used those for 25 years on me and others. Some of us old guys have been through a lot and know what works. I owned a neurofeddback business and that works also. Just have to figure out what its from first then pick the approach. @@outtrigger
Regarding the 51m mark on the TMS Somnee for sleep , any thoughts on the Omniperf's NeoRhythm or Fluxwear's Shift? The show notes didn't list Somnee nor the Psilocybin for Parkinsons (1h6m) :( Regarding the Brodo Bone Broth, I wonder if the Nui Venison Bone Broth from Maui was affected by the fire. There was a good podcast with Dr. Josh Axe on Alan Misner's podcast, where they talk about how there are ten types of collagen. Chicken broth is type 2, beef/fish is type 1,3 and egg(shell) is 5,10.. and since the typical S.A.D. is typically deficient in creatine/collagen/vitamin-c, one should aim to get 50g of all 10 types of collagen daily.. or at least types 1,2,3,5,10. They recommend: Verisol Gelita , Great Lakes Collagen Hydrolysate, Custom Collagen Hydrolyzed Gelatin Collagen Peptides, Jarrow Beyond Bone Broth, Simple Tree Turmeric Curcumin Collage Peptides, or Peak Performance Hydrolyzed Bone Broth & Collagen Protein Peptides, ProMix. Regarding the Toshiba Induction heating rice cooker, on the Nutrition Diva podcast ("Tapping into the many benefits of resistant starches") she mentions how adding a bit of oil when cooking rice , potatoes, or pasta ... then allowing it to cool, will lead to 'resistant starches' that allows 1) higher nutrient absorption thru Short-Chain-Fatty-Acid, 2) Smaller rise in blood sugar 3) greater satiety. One caveat is that rice that cools can have active Bacillus cereus bacteria which can cause food poisoning! Not sure how black-rice fares. BTW, what does it mean to have your security of your main phone locked down by Google Fi?
