I think Hasbro got confused and started making a nerf blaster and then realized they were making an Optimus toy

The KO upcale version by KBB (AD31L and AD31L+ for Nemesis) solves the backpack issue by making it completely removable, and gave it a great coat of paint and chrome. It's a great toy, KBB was one of the KO companies that actually made improvement like WeiJiang back in the day.

I think you're officially the biggest aoe toyline apologist, and I love watching it.

I love to mess with this shadow spark as a toy.... Really fun indeed. The backpack is acceptable for because I do not treat this mould as a collectible category but purely fun toy.

It's nice to see someone else have appreciation for this figure. I've always felt this figure was a victim of the budget limitations and non toy friendly movie design. And for what it is, it's still a pretty fun thing with some neat tricks and really good articulation for its time. I actually like this more than the voyager.

This was shelf warmer in most market in south korea for 4~5 years. And it got lots of clearance too (lowest price I remember was around 17$)

That head firing gimmick is one of the most hilarious and unintentional features on a transforming toy ever. I only ever got the Last Knight voyager which is probably an improvement over the AOE leader though not by much. Love the bulky/armored design of the last two Bay films and makes me super excited for the SS AOE Leader Prime listed for next year.

I also use Shadow Spark Optimus Prime as TLK Nemesis Prime in my collection. I skipped the original Hasbro release of the AOE Leader Optimus and got the Armor Knight release from Takara instead. I was quite happy about the release of Shadow Spark OP, cause that way I could have a version of the mold using the original parts from the first Hasbro release.

I'm not a big fan of Knight Optimus (Knight- _verse_ Optimus is better, especially RotB), or Bayverse Optimus in general for that matter, but this deco is _SUPER_ cool!!! I like the rust details & the darker colors! Tbh, I think I like the Knight Optimus, specifically the TLK Voyager design more than the actual movie model, but I still don't like Knight Optimus too much. I do kinda wish that if/when we get Knight Optimus in Studio Series, they would release it in this deco in Concept Series just cuz. Imo the Knightverse Optimus design is the best live-action Optimus design ever, especially RotB. Also, the Knightverse is just awesome in general.

I have a fixed version of the original, the head doesn't fly off, but the shield is unpainted, the shoulder issue is still there, and the sword is a clear dark grey with blue.

I have the golden shield and it fit perfect on Clalibur Optimus Prime.

Dark of the Moon had way easier figures compared to ROTF. So much so that Voyagers went from $21.00+tax USD post ROTF to $15.00+tax USD, even the Deluxes went frim $12 to $10. Actually, it may have been cheaper. Eventually the Deluxes were being sold at Family Dollar (just a Dollar Store, nothing special) for $5.00+tax USD..... AOE was not the first to simplify the toys, but it, it did some things.. There's a lot I'm not too fond of from AOE, but thsre are some fun figures.

I kind of prefer the proportions on the first release and Shadow Spark than the more accurate retool. The latter makes his torso WAY too big. This one is sleeker.
