Im sad to see people just completely dismiss the people in this video. They gave so much to the ministry of MBC and were more or less blacklisted because they wanted answers on finances, which is a huge issue for many churches. If leaders are trying to quiet parishoners over asking basic accountability questions, it tells me those leaders are corrupt and hiding something
There not asking questions. If you have not seen first person like have. For quite a while now. You would know what there doing. I was here before David platt. But this video is just wrong when you should be supporting the church leaders. It’s going against the Bible not to.
I will make the observation how this trailer was released with multitudes of accusations - none of which are answered. I’m assuming the answers will come in the full documentary. Reminds me of some marketing tactics used in many attacks against Christianity.
Yeah really sounds like a hit piece made by bitter people who dont embody christian love. Im not saying the accusations are false, but this is shameful.
attention to detail - the trailer had one of the pieces of evidence that Platt himself set up the SBC letter back to the elders. All the rest of us were very heavy into the ministries.
@erster-Hunzicker ah Jack - ah no - Christian love involves discernment and rebuke also. Maybe you forget Jesus calling the Pharisees a "pit of vipers", calling Peter satan, and Paul chewing out Peter for eating with the Judaizers and disowning the Gentiles in Galatians. We did not simply wither away when things turned sour and the elders were complicit - we fight for the truth, and, it is all coming out. Stand up now or you will have nothing to stand on.
@@sandypidgeon4343 Jesus rebuked Peter and then made him the leader of the church, so maybe thats not the best example. And Jesus rebuked peter, but his love for him was unquestionable and his desire to restore him was a fact.
@@sandypidgeon4343 I saw that the video includes a quote from an email in which Platt requests that someone from the SBC write to clarify that MBC is not one of that denomination’s member churches. This is offered as proof of what exactly? That MBC must be a member of the SBC because Platt requested the clarification letter? I didn’t follow the logic there. I guess maybe the full-length movie will clarify this?
The part about him attacking people and dismissing them over BLM and CRT reminds me of my old church. I’m literally black and my concerns about these things were dismissed! Hope the whole truth comes out at McClean.
I’ll never forget the time David Platt came to our church in Dubai. He held a public meeting in one of the many 5 star hotels in the city, which was then ‘live casted’ with a fancy intro complete with Hollywood style voice-over - ‘Broadcasting to you from a secret location deep in the Middle East’. They used silhouette filming to ‘disguise’ the identity of individuals in order to ‘protect their safety’. When the cameras stopped rolling, it was all laughs and smiles. I’ve never seen anything quite so dishonest and duplicitous in church ministry ever. It still shocks me.
@@leegaesswitz181 The Church had fliers printed for the event and made them available to the congregation. We handed them out and gave invitations to friends, colleagues …. anyone who might have been able to come. It was an open public event. But then they filmed it for an American audience and made it look like we were an underground church who were at risk of being beheaded for our faith. I was so embarrassed by it, particularly for those people who had come as a result of the public invitations. In reality we would have open air Easter sunrise services on the beach every year. The local Police would watch and had no problem with it. Platt is a compete charlatan.
@altchristianman7986 wow! That's awful. I am sorry all of you experienced that. We can take solace knowing that God is not fooled and all these people deceiving others will not go unpunished. Either in this life or the one to come
I listened to Platt years ago when his book radical came out. He spoke a few times at the church I belonged to in Georgia. I did not care for him then and I did not buy into what he was selling. To me, he’s always been suspect.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
There's a guy Kip McKean who I read about in my cult studies who had people kicked out for trying to see the books. I imagine this kind of thing happens more than we know.
As someone who attends MBC, I remember when this started, and this is not the full story. It is dangerous sinful gossip. For instance, these group of individuals got the emails of all the members of the church without permission trying to sway more individuals to their cause. The time frame for this was the Trump 2020 election. Then there were allegations that MBC was a right wing conservative church. So, David Platt states that we are to pray for our leaders as a church, but the church is not to endorse people on either side of the political platforms. These individuals were mad that David Platt did not endorse Trump and David Platt was called a conservative and a liberal in less than 24 hours. So, in their pride they made it about finances when this was not what it was originally about. A great question is how you gonna bring a lawsuit against a church and try to harass other other members on email and then be mad thay you got kicked out? The devil has been working hard to cause division in many of God's church's. This here is no different.
I watched this video twice only because I enjoy watching Secret Church put on by David Platt and it’s screened at our church. By the second time, it seemed to me these people were not to be trusted to tell the whole story.
@arhysr That interesting because in 2020, when all this was taking place, he stated in a sermon that critical race theory was unbiblical and that the church does not support it. I can dig up the sermon and send it to you if you would like to watch it.
The folks you see in the trailer have done the heavy lifting to make it happen. I'm editing it. We got a new interview from a senior elder this year that further fortifies the story, you can see some of that in the new video we just released at TheRealDavidPlatt.com
Characterizing investments in church planting as “using our money to expand the SBC” (approx 4:40) is serious spin. As people in this video speak about existing ministries of the church being cancelled and funds being used for church planting, it looks like this video is about vision and ministry priorities. I’m not convinced by this video that funds were misused. It’s clear, though, that some members of the church disagree with the vision that David Platt is implementing. Is that a scandal in and of itself? Does that make David Platt wrong or even autocratic? I guess that’s for the forthcoming video to prove if it ever comes out.
Which church did these folks migrate to after this terrible takeover? What has happened here is disgraceful. David Platt why would you do this to a place so many people cherish?
Immanuel Bible Church was one. I forgot the other. Sal Cordova mentioned where former MBC members went in one of his videos, I believe the one where MBC spent $1 Mn trying to silence him. Sal's channel is called 'Evidence and Reasons'
It's been so long since I watched him. Probably back in 2019 I'm guessing. I think it was before he went woke. At some point I just couldn't take the forced anguish even though the message was still scriptural. I stopped altogether watching youtube clips that were new coming out. My spirit was led away from his teachings. About 6 months later I started paying attention to the stuff going on with SBC and I noticed Platt started associating more and more with BLM. I was relieved when my discernment was proved right and he really fell off my youtube feed and really lost track of him. This documentary is important. I remember watching a few interviews and clips about what happened there. It's really sad how someone can corrupt a fellowship from within.
The CRT stuff was stupid for him to implement so I get the frustration there… The rest of this seems dramatized in a major way. Shocking he’s not perfect. I don’t think this qualifies him for the status “false teacher.”
No disagreement that CRT is unbiblical... CRT is super dangerous no doubt... What I'm trying to say is that the label: False teacher, probably ought to be reserved for those who teach a different Gospel. CRT teaches a different gospel, but David Platt (at least at this point) doesn't.... So to say that he's "completely implemented CRT" is a little bit of overstatement. He still teaches that fallen man needs grace from God, and that the grace of God is found in the person and work of Jesus Christ... Until he denies the person and work of Christ I have a hard time with the label "false teacher." There'll be 3 persons in heaven if the standard is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT DOCTRINE AND PRACTICE... And those three persons would be the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit... @@sandypidgeon4343
Brother I'm not a fan boy. I'd much prefer Platt didn't do this junk and I'm sad that the SBC followed suit in 2021. We're going to be in heaven together I pray, so theres no need for name-calling. I want the church to be about the true gospel of Jesus.. not CRT bull, but the true Gospel... Christ's life, His death, His resurrection, His ascension, His glory, His Victory, His return, for His redeemed people.

@@NorrisJohnsoniiif he preached crt he’s preaching a false gospel. How is that not a big deal? He also hid what his church did with money and kicked out members and didn’t allow people to vote on members issues. It quite clearly lays that out in the video.
There are few people as godly as David Platt. If you believe everything you see on RU-vid, EVERYONE is a false teachers. I regularly thank God for David, and pray for mercy on these people who might mean well (I HOPE), but have not honored God with this “documentary”.
Well, that would include believing you. On the other hand, I noticed you listed zero bible verses that support Platts' false teachings. Since a properly referenced Bible verse is the only thing you can believe then your case is not too strong. Can you explain the funding and money movement and false vote canceling? Is that how real ministers of the Word behave. Don't allow yourself to remain deceived, I pray.
What’s so Godly about teaching people their skin color is evil? What about teaching people they have to be poor to be Godly while he lives in opulence?

The Apostle Paul had it right. 1 Cor 11:1 "Follow me as I follow the Christ." I have not followed David for a good long time because it became obvious that he was NOT following the Christ. I do hope and pray he and the elders repents, and I do feel sympathy for his touch of autism.

Do bloggers now talk about NLP techniques by pastors to entrain, mesmerize, entrain students, employees and employees? No, bloggers don't much. Could they? Why is it important that bloggers learn to recognize NLP techniques used by pastors against their unbeknownst members? Should bloggers learn this? Well, they could if they and viewers read the breakthrough, masterpiece novel "Where Do We Go Now, LORD? - Burke." Explains much. Question: Do armies win wars by only recruitment, nothing but recruitment, and more recruitment?
Wow. This must be the same group of disgruntled former church members that tried unsuccessfully to sue McLean Bible Church several times. They are clearly angry and have a vendetta. Legal means failed and now they’re trying the RU-vid method. I’m thankful for David Platt and his ministry.

Despite documentaries in their very nature to be skewed and misleading, Im sure theres some truth to this. Were any of the biblical characters alive today we’d see the same things being said for them. And by rights, each of us could have these made about us and have all of our flaws and sins dragged into the light. And theres truth there because we’ve all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But even if its true. The way you go about it is wrong. When you’re happy to pull the trigger and call out the body of Christ, your playing for a team but it doesn’t look like team Jesus. Theres definitely wolves in sheeps clothing, false teachers, you name it. And all of it is bad. But I have far more fear & respect and love for God and his bride than I do the weak plans of the devil. Hes the slanderer. Leave the slandering up to him. Let correction be done within the local body as scripture commands and leave the rest up to Gods sovereignty. Better that than to divide and dishonor the bride of christ
so you are okay with people's lives being destroyed by false teaching - marvelous. Hmmm...did Jesus rebuke the Pharisees? Did Paul rebuke Peter? Did the Apostles all live lives of poverty, torture, and were martyred by "going along"? You stand up to the slanderer - you don't forgo calling him out.
David Platt's "Radical" basically ruined a 450 person church that was my family for more than a decade. We went from the centrality of the gospel of Jesus Christ to works based theology overnight. What a disaster. If anyone had the same experience - Michael Horton's "Ordinary" is a great read that puts this mindset to bed. Crazy what happened during the neo-calvinist explosion from 2000-2015.
It is painful to see the hurt this guy has caused fellow brothers and sisters. How can anyone say they serve God and do this to their fellow servants? Platt needs to repent and step down.
Just went to an offsite IF conference and was so sad to see David Platte end the conference. He ended with a message in which he specifically said that it’s the evangelicals in this country who are not inviting the “Samaritans” in to tell them about Jesus. In other words, evangelical Christians are wrong to want secure borders and secure neighborhoods and cities. How my heart was grieved to hear him once again hit his brothers and sisters with lies in the guise of “love your neighbor.”
As an evangelist, closing the borders make no sense to me. It seems antithetical to the concept of sharing the gospel. Instead of me having to go to south america, they are coming to my doorstep. Great! Genuinely doesny make sense to me.
Only true believers lead by the Holy Spirit and God’s word, rightly divided, and not living by what the culture teaches or by their own sinful lusts, can understand and see error in a so called pastor or church leader. I suppose those who criticize those who are exposing David Platt are the same who wore masks during C19 and who got jabbed and followed all the mandates. Just saying. 2 Cor 6:17 The Lord has said, “So come out from among them. Do not be joined to them. Touch nothing that is sinful. And I will receive you.“
I am critical of those exposing anyone with zero trace of love or grace or desire for restoration, like in this video. Please note I am not denying the allegations, just the lack of grace is telling.
No one speaks that way naturally. The real preachers are prepared, self controlled and never manipulative. So sad for those faithful members who were dishonored. Small gatherings of true believers is the future of The True Church.
I’m so sick of Christians getting on the guilty bandwagon of ministers without seeing all of the evidence. So sick. We haven’t even heard Platts take on this. Trust me, if he’s guilty, I’ll be the first to denounce him, but we only have one side of the story. No offense, but I see strategic usage of videography and music to illicit an emotion response. Let me see the evidence on both sides so I can make a Godly judgment.
He should have just stuck to his bread and butter- the message of living radically for the spread of the gospel around the world. Instead he got sucked into other things like race and gender nonsense. That’s what happened here folks. Let’s pray David gets back to basics. Gospel for the nations! Otherwise when it becomes about “us” we start navel gazing and pointing fingers and calling out racism where it doesn’t exist.

The part I dont get... so a bunch of evangelical pastors show their support for Republicans, guns, criticizing democrats and still have a lot of support from caucasian christians, yet when you speak about racism denouncing where it came from and the system around it, then you become a false teacher? The weird thing about all the ppl in this video, as truthful and honest as they may be, none have spoken anytime about praying about all that and seeking God's leadership in dealing with this situation.
If you are in Christ, there is no difference between races or genders spiritually. It’s not that racism or sexism doesn’t happen. I guarantee that Everyone in their life has been discriminated against for SOMETHING. But there is no difference between rich, poor, man, woman, race in the family of God. Not saying that people are or aren’t guilty of discrimination. It’s just that if you are in Christ there is no longer a focus on race- we are to treat all the same. If someone claims to be of Christ but doesn’t have love for their brother, they are lying. It’s not about playing victims or pointing fingers or obviously being racist, none of that even comes up when you are in the love of Christ because His love changes and transforms and even causes you to love your enemies. It’s a very different Gospel than “social justice” and “humanistic ideals”. It’s a love that goes beyond what we see, know, or have experienced.
@missyschwartz3409 I understand and I agree but you have to tell that to the group concerned : the caucasian brethren, would you agree that the roots of racism didn't come from minorities. Minorities didnt come up with the idea of "dominant race", Minorities are not the ones calling police on other races when someone who doesn't look like them Is stepping in their neighborhood, and I can keep going, the bible did tell us to take care of what we have in our eyes first so I think the caucasian community within the church can use some soul searching and prayers to work some stuff out. Not only it will bring forgiveness but also create reconciliation. The problem is that they do not think there is any root of discrimination left in them because they are in the church. Yet their actions speak otherwise 🤔
@missyschwartz3409 I will ask you this what kind of racial reconciliation within the church can happen when, you have no preeminent caucasiant pastor courageous enough to call out some unjustified murder committed by police on black citizen. That's not social justice, they are just facts, you can put aside the riots and stuff. Has any caucasian pastor spoken on the death of philando castille? Or George Floyd among many others? Ok even if they don't want to say their name, no problem but they do speak against abortion right, they do speak about child abuse, they even speak against child trafficking even making movies about it, yet 🙄 we are all 1 race/ body under the lord? Well, if in a body the leg is suffering, is the head and hand continue to do their thing and not care about the part that's hurting?
I just find it strange how when a brother from a minority group share his experience even in the church family ppl still call it playing victims. It's good to claim all you are claiming one in the lord and all, yet what kind of oneness you think can be between 2 family member who don't believe one another. The other brother doesn't really stop on the the hurt of his brother yet he wants to claim everywhere that they are tight ....I don't know 😕 how you do that
@missyschwartz3409 a young man last time killed 10 black ppl in a racially motivated shooting spray. Do you think any caucasian pastor will address that on the pulpit the way they speak about abortion, or human traffic, or how they criticize democrats? Dylan roof went to a black Church and comitted crime killing all of them at the time. Can you tell me of a caucasian preacher who stood up and denounced this type of violence?

I got the same vibe. He hams it up, like John Piper. But please don't speak negatively about speech impediments. Many, many faithful Christians have speech impediments. They can't help it. Instead, I call Platt a slack-jawed actor. He can definitely repent and stop doing that.
@@lkae4 oh I completely agree!! I work with dyslexic children and adults so I hear it all the time, which is completely fine! My point was that I think he does this “speech issue” is a tell, not something genuine.
@@chrisiel8 You think he fakes a speech impediment? Wow. If that's true, that's absolutely disgusting and a sign that he is a degenerate snake and narcissistic wolf.
Wait til’ I make more people see what those “lunatics” have to say about your beloved David Platt. It’ll be the funniest thing you’ll have seen all year 😂
