The problem is that the industry knew Drake was doing this but they reward him by calling him the greatest rapper, MC, etc. Then accused everyone else of doing the same when they knew for a fact it wasn’t the same thing.
@@YoEqTV people try to skip over that, like everyone has a reference track .. back in the day the singers wrote hooks, and rappers wrote bars. The producer is always there to tweak it to make it sound better... Idk how these people don't get the difference between that, and stealing a WHOLE SONG
@@AggroSamurai it's funny, when I was growing up, all of my homies rapped for fun... Even if we didn't care about being a rapper. One of them is a cop, another one a doctor.. two of them actually became rappers. I paint, but still hop in a cypher from time to time l🤣😂
The problem is that Drake gets almost everything written including the verse on his raps not just hook or beginning of cypher. That makes it seem like Drake is rapping someone else’s verse(experience).
In a 200 meter sprint in Olympics, there has never been a person handed a gold medal when there were 2 of them running relay style, whilst the other 9 were running solo races. I don't know how else to simplify it for these fans
I heard a theory that the first leak of PushUps was actually a reference track - his team just uses Drake’s voice via A.I. for all reference tracks now to stop them from doing damage if they leak. I.e. if they get leaked folks think they are real and not A.I., so less damage from a reference track leaking. Also, I’m not sure how true that is as I didn’t hear PushUps until the official one was put up on DSP - just that there is a clear difference in sound. Theory is: Drake didn’t want to battle Kendrick at first, his team leaks reference track, Drake sees all the hype and gets cocky, records his “real” one based on reference, then posts it DSP. I’m curious if anyone heard both and if the first one sounded A.I.
I think that people are always on Drake because he's said more than once he's written all of his hits, which is a flat-out lie. That interview is going to always haunt him. Just like taking others' flows.
He’s a great artist, but definitely not on any top 5 MCs list. You can hear and see him actually try to write on some vultures tracks but you can hear they just sound like freestyles and they sound a lil more basic.
@@YoEqTV Kanye is a great musician. Dre never tried to say he's the best rapper... Me and my cousins had a better cypher than most of the new guys in my backyard last night... I don't rap, but I've hopped on verse and wrote the whole thing..
It's not the ppl who aren't looking deep, DRAKE DECIDED TO GO ON TV & ONLINE STATING HE WROTE ALL HIS LYRICS! & not just the LeBron sit-down convo. Go back & look @his older interviews about how he writes outa his feelings & what he goes thru, LIES!...his own ego & arrogance got him into this mess...Duplicating cadence, flow, swag, adlibs is not ghost nothing IT'S KARAOKE! Has the nerve to compare himself to MJ w/no talent & ppl STOP SAYING HE CAN SING! 😅 the nerve...
Ima say this and it might not b a popular opinion. I feel like the term goat is thrown around too Loosely. I can’t consider someone who doesn’t write their own shit a goat in the hip hop field. Is he a great performer yes but he shouldn’t b in that category compared to rappers who really wrote their own shit: I used to rap so it’s not hard to see bouncing ideas off one another in the studio a homie would play a beat he got his verse written ask what I think I’ll listen to it and tell bro ay make this the hook or make this fit or if I can’t figure out a line they throw something out that’s like koo that might stick. But to have him write it for me and act as if it’s my pen game naw not it . That’s normal to have some assistance we aren’t debating that but when someone is writing ur whole shit it’s like come on bro. One thing I don’t like about this neew generation of rappers none of them can freestyle without looking at a phone a phone isn’t supposed to b present it’s supposed to see what u can come up with off the top so when they can’t do that it’s a red flag. But ghost writer does get thrown around too much . We can’t change the rules for people we like kuz that’s what waters it down. I don’t mind people who have them or use them from time to time but I hate when people say they’re the greatest and it can’t come up with their own shit that’s weak in my eyes. One memorable line like I swear I catch ‘em stealing flows kuz I swear I never loaned it…. Drake…. The man who’s known for doing just that pot calling all kettles black.
Great lyric reference at the end fam, and yeah it’s two different categories artist/performer and lyricist/rapper. Some have done it all but there’s an asterisk on your stats when some of your best records are written almost entirely by someone else.
Faaaam Ice Cube was a beast with the pen, pretty much all of NWA’s discography which are certified classics plus a multitude of his own. The acting has kinda made people forget how much of a beast he is. Truly a master storyteller 💯
Who me lmao naw I’ve said it in every video about this situation, you can be a fan and still admit someone got the better of them.🤣 I’ve been in the signed in industry for six years, so I know the inner workings better than most. He just kept reiterating that he wrote everything and honestly this is natural for artists of that caliber to go through this. When you get too big it becomes cool to hate on you. Like Coldplay, Nickleback, Creed and the list goes on and on.
@@YoEqTV ...BUT ONE THING I KNOW IS THAT THEY ALL GOT GHOST WRITERS LETS KEEP IT A BUCK... DRAKE AIN'T THE ONLY ONE WE JUST HATE THE FACT THAT HIS GHOST WRITERS WRITE HIM HEATS UNLIKE KANYE'S AND OTHERS😂🤞
