The phrase "Baby girl" is probably one of the most important in showing how Joel's mentality towards Ellie changes through the story. The fact that it was ad-libbed at the moment by accident is incredible. It's truly a collective project making media, and I love to see how it comes together.

His initial reasoning being that he has a love-hate relationship with it, in that he does have things he hated about it, but thought to just go along with it. I'm paraphrasing a little, but he dropped the NFT bit not long after initially bringing it up Also that last bit of comparing Joel to David, I mean minus the cannibalism, Joel is a ruthless killer. I think one of the underrated performances in the big moment Joel loses Sarah is Sarah herself. Was going to say the same. I just started watching the show and felt her death scene definitely didn't hit as hard. I haven't played the Last of Us since it first came out, so I thought maybe I played up the scene from the game too much in my head. But seeing the scene again here was instant tears. The amount of panic, confusion, and desperation for comfort that she portrays is something that just triggers a deep need to help this poor girl through, but can't.

my dad called me babygirl. the one name i HATED people calling me, but when my dad said it it was different. it was sincere. the last of us had been a special game and series to me since i played it in 2013 when i got it as a bundle with the ps3 he gifted me (my dad) for christmas. along the time i was playing it, he would watch me play and he soon got into many other games i played. he loved just watching me have fun and play the games i liked. it’s most of the reason why i am a streamer/youtuber now. i wanted to be part of the reason someone smiled that day or any. anyways - i was adopted when i was a baby. joel and ellie’s story just resonated not just for me but my dad. we were not blood, not the same race even. but we were, without a doubt-father and daughter. we got to playthrough the second game when it came out-he actually gifted it to me as a surprise when it did. we got to experience the transition into the television series when it released. he loved all of them. it’s been a year and a few months since his passing, and all i gotta say is thank you to everyone involved in the last of us. i got a tattoo to remember him by. it’s ellie’s tattoo from the second game. this game changed my life. i hope my dad would be proud of who i am today. edit : i wanted to add on that i hope that i can get to meet troy, laura or ashley someday. they’re literally my heroes.

I never tire of playing TLOU, not because of the game mechanics or graphics, but because I love spending time with these characters. I owe a debt of gratitude to all of the creators. This was my first video game ever played as an adult. I had just become disabled. Laid up in bed without a clue what to do with myself, I bought a second-hand PS3 and, so lucky for me, popped in The Last of Us. This game, man. It's personal. It helped me find my way toward hope. Thank you, Troy, and all the others. When you're lost in the darkness, look for the light ❤

@@MissTinaTv Leave it to a sheep to just follow the shiny objects that are the bought and paid for awards that you're talking about. You do know that pretty much every corner of our society is corrupted, don't you? The first game is a once in a lifetime gem. The dlc is a cheap money grab. The sequel is Neil flying his middle finger at his cocreators and fans of the first game. The series is Neil doubling down on his idiocy and pretty much going unchecked.
@MissTinaTv
@MissTinaTv 11 дней назад
@markbrowning4334 Man take a breath. I enjoyed the second one. Don't care about your opinion, especially because you don't critique the game on substance. @markbrowning4334
@markbrowning4334 10 дней назад
@@MissTinaTv Don't be naive. You're alive today and still live under the idea that there is a merit system that isn't corrupted? I guess you also think that being the best employee at a job is what moves you up the ladder. And please, don't tell me what I know or don't know about a game I've played and spent time with. This stuff isn't difficult. The original game had no critics. Everyone who played it, loved it. They found all the characters relatable and likable. The only criticism may have been in the gameplay itself, but the first game was story based and not action based. The second game has been a controversial mess, at best. There are plenty of critics to go around besides me. In fact, I've never heard before or sense that so many people either wanted their money back on the game or they simply destroyed their copies of the game. This stuff isn't made up by me. It happened. Are you telling me that level of disapproval isn't real? And Neil is 100% to blame for all of it. He had better people than himself working with him on the first game. When the second game was in production, the other creative members were either dismissed or left on their own. Neil brought in some activist(I forget her name, but she helped ruin a couple of franchises) to work with her on the sequel. This is also a fact. If I could provide her name, you'd be able to validate what I'm saying. As far as "take a breath" goes, think about something that you enjoy very much. Once you have that in mind, think about how you'd feel if someone came along and exploited that product for their own financial or ego stroking gain, but it left your beloved product in shambles.

I never played TLOU myself. I watched it on RU-vid on a whim having only heard the name. I watched Jacksepticeye’s playthrough of the entire game within two or three days, binging the entire thing because of how hooked the story had me. The day after I finished I went to talk to my dad about it and how perfect the storytelling was, and how incredible the VA was for the game it felt like watching a TV show. As soon as the actual show was released I forced my dad to watch it with me and being a filmmaker himself told me that he never would’ve guessed that a video game would tell such a great story, and that the people that worked on the game should be proud. Every single person that worked on it created a story that I personally believe every person should experience, whether that be through the game or show some they’re both phenomenal.

I’ve played that prologue 3 times, including once last week, and I still teared up just watching it in this video. Darn you Troy! But seriously, your performance is my absolute favorite of any voice acting I’ve ever heard. And I’m from Texas so I appreciated the authenticity of the inflection and demeanor. I don’t personally have a thick southern accent but the nuances in your vocal choices really rang true for me and people I’ve grown up around

I love this game and its sequel so much. What I also love is how different Troy is from Joel in every way. He truly is an amazing actor and you can see and feel the passion oozing out of him. What is also admirable is the way in which he speaks about his fellow cast members and Neil; the love and respect he has for them. Troy Baker is a remarkable person.

I feel like every actors new project teaches them something but i feel like this project taught Troy maybe the most out of his career so far it seems like this game broke him down and beat him up but he never gave up. Thank you Troy

It's really emotional to see Troy Baker talking like this. When I saw Joel die, I felt sad and depressed. Like a good friend, someone close to me died. The game itself is dark, and after most game sessions I needed to chill out my mind. Sometimes in between the days I played some other less dark and sad games like Astrobot. What a wonderful job they have as actors for games or the people who create great storylines. This is something that resonates with me and will look if I can also put my creative energy into the creation of storytelling/cinematic games.

The Last of Us is truly a gem of all Video Games. Beautiful game and the shows rendition of the game is amazing, the changes they made I loved, especially the story of Bill and Frank. I cant wait to see what they did with Season 2. The Last of Us 2 was very under appreciated, and knowing how well they adapted the first game I bet season 2 is going to give part 2 the love it deserves.

When Joel called Ellie baby girl, it really hit hard because I knew it was a breaking point in their relationship. Joel finally showed his true emotions because he knew what it felt like to lose someone he cared for, and he didn’t want that to happen with Ellie. So he comforted her, like his own daughter.

11 years later and THAT scene with Sarah still makes me cry. No matter if I’m playing it or watching it. Or even if I’m watching someone watch it. It still transports me back to 2013 me sitting in my apartment alone and sobbing the first time I played that scene. One of the most powerful moments in any media.

The Last Of Us Part 1 for its time it was just a masterpiece in terms if graphics, story, voice acting, motion capture, gameplay. And even after 10 years it's still my favorite part. That story surpasses Hollywood movies stories. It was a brilliant job from every aspect from all of you and the whole team Troy. Ashley did nailed it too! You guys are professional with all the meaning. The same goes for the Uncharted. I am glad we are getting a perspective from your side who you are one of the most important persons out there due to your work in the game industry. Thank you for this video Gamology and Troy.

Troy, dog.. you have me bawling my 31 year old eyes out man. I’m no father just yet and to be honest, I didn’t know I wanted to be a father for a very long time. What I did know, was this scene was going to make game history from the very beginning. I was barely coming out of highschool when this game came out and as an aspiring filmmaker that was also addicted to progression of storytelling in video games, i was completely oppressed with the amount of realism and emotion and care put into the creation of this story. There’s so much to this story that has broken me over and over again and I couldn’t even make sense to it. Every evolution of this story tore me to pieces over and over again. Each time I would reflect on myself as a person. A brother, an uncle, a son. What is life truly about? Family, right? How do we cherish our family members the way Joel does in in his very last precious moments with Sarah? Thank you for sharing this video with us. i’m truly grateful and blessed and i’m trying harder everyday to make sure i’m not taking life fir granted. Everyone pI encounter in life is precious to me. But it’s extremely hard to burden that kind of love towards everyone. What a challenge, thank you. 🙏🏾

Yesterday, I finished my first ever play through of this game, and I gotta say, this is definitely my favorite zombie apocalypse game, the gameplay was so fun, the characters were like perfect, Joel felt so cool, the visuals were unbelievable (I played the remake) and the story was so good, at the end of the summer act, I said to myself, I’m gonna cry by the end of this game… I did not but after the fall act I did feel pretty vulnerable, no tears were shed though. Last thing I wanna say, the winter act felt like it’s own story, we start at humble beginnings just hunting in the woods and then we run into this guy who end up being a twist villain and we end the act with this big climactic battle and it ends, this game was so good, and the ending… the ending was so good cuz it made me realize what the story was all about… I’m not gonna say it cuz I’ll probably sound stupid… so yeah, it’s a pretty good game

I haven't played this game. My sis did. I stopped playing video games and I became content with watching my younger sister play growing up. But we both became adults and we got no time to sit down and play with me watching her play. So I watch RU-vidrs play instead on my free time and I came across this video. I loved that you shared the difference between you ten years ago and now. Sarah's death scene was gutwrenching to watch. And your hopelessness and desperation to save her made it even more heartbreaking. You were so great in there. It made me teary-eyed. Again. Cheers.

Joel is one of the most well written and intresting characters I have seen in my 25 years of gaming. Part of Joels character and why he is so good, is directly connected to the voice acting, just like other mayor well written characters such as Arthur Morgan, Ellie, Kratos and etc, is the voice actors that bring life into the character. Joels voice, is one of the most impressing, genuine and best voice acting I have heard to date. With that said, a mayor part of the story is thanks to the voice actors, Troy Baker is truly one of the best voice actors in our modern world. The Scene where Joel is embracing Sarah as she is bleeding out, is one of the best ones, bringing the player to tears in the very first minutes at the start. Not to mention the ending of the last of us, where Joel is saving Ellie from the fireflies, the low tone, the sense of urgency and purpose, urgency to save Ellie before time runs out, the purpose to save her because she is his baby girl. It all is so genuine and feels to real thanks to Troy Bakers amazing performance.
