I got NOASB overall by a smidge. I loved the writing on those arrangements. Really challenges the mental aspect of the horn. Looks like they had a lot of kids marching this day too. MMB's arrangements are nice as a mf too though, don't trip. And they have that 'punch'. That Say Yes was *chef's kiss*. They both cold af. 🥶

Both were great it’s hard to say both have some great writers geez my favorite song from Memphis was the Britney Spears I like the arrangement and New Orleans that single outro and drowning😮‍💨 I really wish they would be in the stands tho I feel like that could help the tempo issues overall great battle👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Another thing A1Media video quality is sooooo fcking crispy💯

Overall, MMB with the W. From the clips here, they had a darker, more full sound. I really think the trombones made the difference tbh. NOASB bones were thin. It was like night and day when each band had a song featuring trombone a melody.

NAOSB was practicing that and still sounded good. Memphis was better last year. Memphis stick to what you know Raw, Power and blowing. That's why NOASB stay on top because they stick to it.

Because this was a contracted battle. 10 songs per band any more from us would be a breach of contract and would require noasb to pay a fine. March in march out tunes are not in any of the clauses.

Memphis had one mess up, but won three straight rounds after that. NOASB was playing parade music while Memphis was running a marathon. NOASB is my top dog every year but this year I have to be fair. NOASB lost!!!

I got MMB with a slight edge. Arrangements were better, had MMB executed them better they would be the clear winner. NOLA is extremely powerful. This would have went the other way in NOLA. Overall this battle just wasn’t giving the energy everyone expected, definitely a MID Battle. We’ll see how the GAMB vs NOLA battle goes. S/O to MMB & NOLA 🎺

Memphis easily more complete band, both bands sounded great overall and improved compared to lesser years, Nola will sound amazing but then Memphis will sound amazing with a more full trombone break, crazier more present tuba chords, and better trumpets/woodwinds, Memphis had some mistakes but they weren’t overbearing and shi happens 🤷‍♂️

I’m going to give NOASB the benefit of the doubt and say they fell in the same trap that GAMB fell into last year when they faced Memphis. The real battle(no disrespect) is GAMB vs NOASB. And I think they are trying to save it all for GAMB. So they took Memphis lightly and Memphis ain’t tryna hear non of that. They want blood. GAMB did Memphis the say way last year. And Memphis feasted.

Oh it’s even cleaner on here. New Orleans is extremely Sloopy and has horrible tone issues. Trumpet problem goes both ends. If GAMB don’t hang over they have the summer. Memphis for the dub they are clearly the better band. This isn’t going to age well for NO.

I got Memphis winning this one. Yes Memphis had a mistake but overall I think they had a better sound and power. And a better song selection too. But just my opinion. N.O. did their thing too thought. Just gave the edge to Memphis.

I give no points to any band that plays other college bands arrangements! This is not summer band CAMP! This is summer band! Write your own material and have some original content. Cant be lazy and always take someone else content for your own as if you did it.

Overall this battle was ngl “mid” it lacked that raw energy. For me the setup for both bands was bad but it really hurt noasb sound more. I do have noasb winning here. They were the more polished ensemble. At times mmb sounded like they were making noises and not layering. Noasb just needs the trumpets and tbones to push…..
