Eventually God gave them a king to rule them, and the numerous kings after them as well. While many of these kings did good things, they all had some deep flaws to them and none of them could take God's place. This is my first Easter as a Christian and I am not feeling to good about Friday. Any advise? When I look at the cross it makes me cringe because it's knowing Jesus died for all my sins. I think this is the sort of thinking that is making feel uncomfortable about Friday. God bless. 🙏✝️

My advice for Friday would be to remember that while Christs death reveals our sinfulness, it also reveals the power and mercy of God. His great love for us is being shown to us by His willingness to take upon Himself the just punishment for our sins. Try to look on Good Friday as a time of prayer and reflection. Reflecting on who I am and who God is. A time for repentance in preparation for the feast to come. Our church has Tenebrae service on Friday (where the lights grow dimmer as the service progresses). Afterwards, it’s traditional to leave the service in darkness and silence. Good Friday is not so much a time of mourning, because we know that Christ will rise, but it is a time of humble gratitude for what He’s done for us. I’m not sure if this is of any help but I will keep you in my prayers that God will use this Good Friday to deepen your faith and strengthen your confidence in His promises that your sins are forgiven and His work on the cross is enough. ❤✝️🙏

Sometimes I wonder if God is even affected by being mocked. I know people have claimed that but like, is God that sensitive or insecure? If I get insulted by a child, and I have, I think to myself, “they don’t know better.” Which, to me, is in line with “forgive them father…” And so I’m not insulted.
