Tate is driven. He is a fighter, an entrepreneur. It's why works over grace religion is so appealing to him because it's another arena to perform in. I think he is frustrated with Christianity because he is honest with himself and knows his best is not good enough. He envies the peace that indwells the Christian heart.

@@marcushaynes1051 You couldn't be far more from the truth. Stuff like this should infuriate you and you should ask yourself how things have gotten to this point? It's through weakness and accepting everything and standing for nothing at the same time. Where is the Jesus that got angry and flipped over tables and called a group of religious leaders a den of vipers? There is righteous indignation as well, and the problem is there isn't any balance anymore where people get angry and call this stuff out. "Islam" means "peace" **eye roll** because it means "subjugation" i.e. "if you let us rule you and force you to convert or pay Jizya tax, we won't be violent so you will have some peace". "Islam means peace" is a great example of Islamic Taqiyya, where they can lie, even after swearing on a stack of Qurans, as long as it furthers Sharia Law or Islamic conversion. Another great example of Taqiyya is when they say "Allah is the same as God in the bible" which is outright lies.

I'm a former Infantryman (CIB/EIB) and PMC who spent 7 years in Iraq/Afghanistan. Getting angry was always easy. It never helped. Staying calm and collected and not falling into hate was the greatest struggle I've ever dealt with. I struggle with it today... as I know I am weak in comparison to Christ and not even Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel.

I’m from Australia and I’m a Christian. What you probably didn’t hear in a lot of the press reports is that there were far more people at the protest than there were members of that church. That means other groups turned up to the protest with the intent of stirring up conflict. I’ve seen this countless number of times here in Australia. It just seems that some people thrive on chaos and disorder. I don’t know about others but I follow the resurrected Jesus, the Lion. And my strength is found in my faith and is carried by my spirit. There’s nothing others can do to break me. I have a degenerative illness. I suffer from chronic pain and can barely walk. My body is broken. But my spirit is strong.

Ignoring petty slights and failing to respond to crimes with appropriate force are two very different things. Much of the church fails to understand that. Brash as he is, Tate has a point. Some abuses should never be tolerated. And too many churches think not avenging every slight somehow means being a complete doormat. If that were so, Jesus himself would never have overturned those tables, tore the curtain in half, nor ordered the disciples to buy swords.

I struggle to know what to do when our nations are clearly under threat. Are we to simply stand back and watch our people be abused forever? How nations ought to behave and how individuals ought to behave are entirely different things. Christians ought to forgive but forgiveness doesn’t mean that you don’t face the legal consequences of your actions. The proper legal response to such things is to throw the book at the perpetrator and then see what other steps can or should be taken to prevent such things in the future. (Things like not allowing open borders or Muslim immigration into your country etc.) The problem we face right now is that governments have neglected their God given responsibility to protect their people.

The point of "turning the other cheek" is to show that violence and vengeance are not the answer to everything, and that society is going nowhere if everyone decides to adopt this attitude of being aggressive and vengeful. There is a prevailing notion in society today that men are either weak total pushovers or violent aggressive abusers who have no regard for the welfare of others, esp. women. Neither extreme is good for society and men in general. Being a peaceful person simply means that one desires peace for himself and everyone around him, not being passive or apathetic to the spread of evil and deception in the world today. Also, just examine the whole context of the attack on the bishop. This isn't an isolated event wherein some druggie or crazed asylum patient decides to go on a spree of violence. This is yet another consequence of a decades-long agenda to import certain groups of people to wreck havoc in Western countries.

@@zedrockiby it’s not too late for any of those things. Any immigrants who are not legal citizens can be deported for any time for any reason. Mass deportations and refusing any more immigration could still make a huge difference . Dual citizenship should not be allowed, anyone choosing foreign citizenship over say Australia or Britain or America should be deported. You want to be Pakistani or Syrian or Persian more than you want to be Australian? Thats fine, back you go. Such attacks as the one described here should mean life imprisonment not just for the stabber but for anyone who materially assisted him. The problem isn’t that nothing can be done. The problem is the political class refuses to do anything about it because they benefit from the mass immigration and societal instability. The first step to dealing with this crisis is to deal with the politicians who have abandoned their God given responsibility to defend their people. Resistance to tyranny is obedience to God.

I'm not an atheist but I am a "non-believer" as I'm agnostic. I don't consider Christians as my enemy in any shape, way or form. Perhaps as interlocutors and fellow humans sure, but as enemies? Only on individual-by-individual cases but no one has been my enemy because they're Christian. We may disagree sure, but as someone who believes in democracy and rights (emergent from our nature, and in relation to others) I fully support equal voting rights, freedom of speech and freedom of and or from religion. Something to keep in mind about western (even most outside the west tbh) atheist or agnostics is that they(like most) don't create a new philosophical foundations and often take for granted a lot of the same moral values they had or got from Christianity. Also, even a lot of secular philosophies like humanism sprang out of Christianity so all in all, non-believers tend to align with Christians on a lot simply do to lineage/history.

I agree; modern Christians from Protestants to Orthodoxy by far share the most common humanist values. A value for life, wellbeing, freedom to choose and a healthy balance on individual and community rights. Even if I can't beleive, I always want to preserve their right to. For the overwhelming majority it makes them better people. To be blunt, the same cannot be said for others.

Most alpha males who consider themselves Christians are conflicted and confused until they really dive into scripture and all the different interpretations and meanings of the gospel. I had trouble with it for years. Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the Earth. Most people when asked the definition of meek they think of passivity and weakness. It wasn’t until I heard a different definition of meek that turned it around for me. Meek quite simply means power under control.
