Wouldn't you argue that there are already 2 other apex predators in the league. Chelsea and Manchester United. However, people complain that City have done it right, regarding recruitment and management, but no one seems to be annoyed that Chelsea and United who both have probably equal income to City and spending power, aren't getting right and therefore are allowing for City to "run away with it". Also, people seem to make the comments that it is becoming a farmers league, but I feel this is ignorance from people who only view the final result. If you look at it in black and white, then yeah City have won 5 of the last 6 and could win 4 in a row etc... But this isn't the full story. The times that City have won have always been competitive, wehther this be Liverpool taking them to the last day of the season 2 times in a row, or Arsenal having a 8 point lead and City overcoming this. I feel City is discredited for winning all the time and it isn't acknowleged that, okay yes they have more money and spending power, but have still had to in moments come from behind or go and win 15 games in a row and prove why they are the best. I understand the City hate because of the 115 allegations, but again this hasn't been confirmed as guilty and at this point, I feel if City were found innocent of these allegations, people wouldn't be satisfied as they already view them as guilty in their head.

I agree, I felt this way about Chelsea when they were battling man united people don’t often give credit to them clubs because of getting brought and the money that came with it. But they put on a hell of a performance season after season and played great football (I know some people don’t like Chelsea way of football but they would still win games like 4-0 and it they’ll be some of the best goals you have ever seen) My point is I agree and we have to take into account these players have still played there ass off and made seasons or matches that will be remembered for a long time. you gotta respect them type of clubs like city chelsea in a way because of how good they are and the memories they created
@danielmarsh1376

completely agree. Everton have spent to the point of FFP points deductions, even accounting for covid and women's team expenditure, United have spent over 2 billion pounds (the most of any prem team ever), Chelsea have spent the most in any singular transfer window, twice, and Arsenal have outspent Manchester City for the last 3 seasons. This notion that Man city are uncatchable when it's seemingly all down to awful transfers, sackings of managers, poor facilities and infrastructure as well as back room staff, purely points to incompetency. Everyone is happy to laugh at Manchester United and Chelsea for doing so poorly, yet if they were doing any better people would want crushing points deductions and transfer window bans. Also, to you point, City have "dominated" literally one league season, the 100 points season. The year after, City won it by a point. The next season, Liverpool blew the entire league out the water and went 25 points clear. The season after City were 11th in November and there were 7/8 different league leaders with Liverpool prevented from winning the title again due to mass injuries. The season after city won by a point again. Then city had to catch an Arsenal team that had to merely maintain a 2-0 lead against West Ham and Liverpool to all but win the title. City this season had to rely on both Arsenal and Liverpool dropping points. How is this considered some juggernaut of a team when in basically every season City relied on teams dropping points carelessly. yes it's impressive what pep has done, but it's more impressive how poorly every other team throws away points

There were some signs that not everything was right at Liverpool. Klopp told them he was leaving at the end of last year. We are now in April and still no closer to finding a new manager. @@tf0256 they're presumed guilty of breaching these charges whether they go to court and are proven innocent or not. Everton have breached ffp and been given two points deductions, would you say they're better off from spending that money than before? Moshiri has almost singlehandedly ruined that club structurally. Chelsea have gotten significantly worse since spending unscrupulous amounts, and are pending an investigation. Have they gained an unfair advantage or become worse? It seems Mancity are the needle in the haystack of teams that spend a lot and have actually become successful and improved, and because of that fans are calling for relegation and expulsion. Also, what do you define as "unfair"? Because to me, City have merely bridged the gap with their expenditures. It's taken a decade of self destruction from man united for City to be even considered as good a team, still nowhere near the dominance mind you. So "unfair" to me is a competitive law restricting teams to their own minuscule revenue generation in comparison to United and Liverpool and expecting the league to become more competitive.
@danielmarsh1376
@danielmarsh1376 4 месяца назад
@@tf0256 my point is that because of how dominant Manchester United have been due to amazing managerial leadership and being the dominant team during the rise of huge commercialisation, they have become solidified as a an "apex club" to coin Brian's phrase. In order for any club outside the top 6 to break into that block, you either need an insane amount of luck, or huge investment. Man city have had both to get into the position they're currently in. The "rules" are clearly not fit for purpose as Manchester City have allegedly breached them and still been able to complete a treble. They also limit clubs like Brighton and Brentford who essentially have to get lucky in order to arrive in the top 5/10 because they can't compete with the wages and transfers of other clubs. That means they're limited to a smaller group of players that want to come. I'm pointing out the flaws of the ruleset which limits smaller clubs (in terms of revenue) and solidified the "big six." That to me is unfair

Even if they don't win it, it's still a testament to Klopp's work. Not only that but that team has given us a lot of exiting games and seasons. Klopp is leaving, Pep is going to leave at some point the ffp rules are going to be followed and some average manager is going to win the league one or two times, but don't think even for a second that he is going to be somehow better than Klopp, because context maters. @@jackloughridge7617 I'll repeat: Pep has spent more than any manager at a single club in the history of the sport. He has spent over £1.4bil since taking over City. Fergie spent a lot because he was at United for 20 years. He did have a few big fee transfers but United were very rarely the biggest spenders in each transfer window. City spent more in the final 4 years of Fergie's United reign than Fergie did in 20 years.

@@user-zr8sx6jp8b of course he has. There is no other manager aside from klopp who has been at a top 10 club worldwide as long as pep in the recent period. You can’t directly compare the amount spent by pep and ferguson because there was significantly less money in the game at that point. By that logic David Moyes should be more successful than Wenger because he spends more money than wenger did. You can only compare the amount of money spent compared to other clubs in the time that a manager spent there and by that logic City are the 3rd highest spenders in the league in the time guardiola has spent there whilst Ferguson was by far no.1.

Darwin is a old school striker back when you had two strikers and he just is that pain in the ass that opens up so much for the team if you have another to just clean up after him , I think klopp pushes to not be afraid to shoot , if you watch jota Diaz salah Darwin etc , theyre not affraid to shoot no matter if it’s look like a good turn over or not , and with mass shots you’re gonna return higher if you shoot higher , and that’s probably why you see legs in Liverpool die because they have to be work horses because of how wasteful the shooter are

The talk about lack of trophies against Klopp is mental to me.... however, domestic cup competitions for sure, His Liverpool could have done better, but for the Prem he's had them getting points totals that were near perfect, but you know who was better still? Man City. For me it is harsh trying to hold that against a guy who's squad was getting crazy points totals most seasons and still come up empty handed. It's difficult because the issues over style of play and then what it does in terms of injuries is also a fair criticism because it did see Liverpool drop off... in essence I would actually say. Liverpool in hindsight, weren't as well run as they appeared to be but in spite of that they were usually challenging at a level that they shouldn't have been, which then circles back to the point around funding and what Liverpool, maybe could have achieved if they had spent more.

Can’t speak for other Liverpool fans but I certainly didn’t think we’d win the league…would’ve had a bit more hope had we not been blighted by injuries, but once we have to play second string players for a long period we were always gonna run out of steam. City potentially have 10 Games left, One of those is Real Madrid, Two of those could be Arsenal. Any body blow in those games. If its not Arsenal, then its Bayern, along with Chelsea and likely Man Utd in the FA Cup, Three teams with good squads but terrible seasons, desperate to end on a high. In the league, they have Spurs, a team they have traditionally struggled against. Im not ready to call it yet. My brain just cant comprehend back to back trebles and 4 in a row. Mentally, physically, they cant do it again, and if they do, Arsenal and Liverpool will have no one to blame but themselves. The league should be done, City have draw 7 and lost 3, by there standards, this should be over, as it should have been last year. Dropping points in 10 games, two seasons in a row, and no one has put it out of their reach. Arsenal is a quick fix. Olise to pressure Saka, Ait-Nouri and Isak. Liverpool, harder, what do you do with that front three. Salah has been so good, for so long, but when your entire game is pass the ball to him, and hes fluffing his lines, youre in trouble when your other striker scores just 1 in 11 of his shots. Either way, for Arsenal this is where the Rice money needs to be the difference. You bought a leader, he needs to lead, this is the moment Odegaard needs to put himself in the KDB chat. Win your remaining games, make City do the same. NL derby is going to be fire

People say the same thing every season and get it wrong. City's record in the league at the end of the season when they need to perform almost perfectly to win the league is insane. Every since, and including, the premier league title races they've been in where it was close in the last few games, they win the league. They've never not won it. Every single time the opposition crumbles or slips up a bit, hand City control, and they hold it with a vice grip until they get the trophy. So yes, the premier league is over. They will win every game from here on out, unless the other two teams drop points again
