If you haven't read the KJV all the way through then you will not notice the subtle changes they've made in the other versions. The Bible makes it clear the antichrist shall come and has given us enough information on who it is. During the dark ages Rome burned Bibles to keep the people enslaved and unaware of it false doctrines, until the reformation church was formed. Rachel S. what nonsense. Where does the kjv differ doctrinally from all other translations? The kjv was compiled by Deserderius Erasmus in the 16 th century. He was a Dutch Catholic priest. In the early sixteenth century, 1516, the Textus Receptus was produced, a printed Greek New Testament. The Textus Receptus was based on the Byzantine text-type. About a century later, the King James Version was produced, and the translators followed the Textus receptus. As scholars advanced over the years the Byzantine text type from which the textus receptus was taken was found not as accurate as earlier text types,like the Alexandrian text type or the western text type. The Western text-type from the third to the ninth centuries, and the Alexandrian text-type from the second to the fourth centuries. These were more accurate and are largely used in more contemporary translations. The kjv is based on a later more in accurate translation. The simple solution to studying scripture is to use multiple translations and of course a concordance. Anyone that says the kjv is the only true word of God is either naive or ignorant. Just to add, all translations have minor discrepancies,but the doctrine of scripture is always preserved. The kjv only cult leads to pride and exclusivism.That in turn leads to heretical teaching.

The NIV is changed too...stick to KJV. I have NIV but I compared certain verses at completely diff. For example: In Revelations KJV Mark of beast is IN right hand or IN forehead. NIV ON right hand or ON forehead. Subtle differences change the verse. In Timothy is mentions GOD in flesh in KJV and not NIV. I am getting to learn the BIBLE but certain words can change a whole meaning of the verse.

You can always google to compare verses or download a KJV bible if you can.

It is confusion. I used to attend a SBC church that used different versions. The pastor had us take turns reading a passage of scripture and I couldn't tell where the lady before me left off so I could continue. That's when I finally made up my mind about the KJV issue. The God reading at 1 John 3:16 does have manuscript support. A similar thing happens in John 8:6, where modern KJVs have "as though he heard them not" in italics despite these words having manuscript support and being in normal type in the original KJV.

The translators of the king James Bible did not do it for profit. The guys that translate these Bibles or mercenaries they go from Bible to Bible for profit. People who translated the new king James version also some of them were on the NIV committee. There are are revised standard writings in the Old Testament of the new king James version in new American writings in the New Testament I just don’t feel like I’m reading the Bible in those modern translations
