Alan Hale Jr. (1921-1990) was an American actor and the son of the famous character actor Alan Hale Sr. He is best known for his role as Jonas Grumby, the Skipper, in the classic TV series "Gilligan's Island" which aired from 1964-1967. Prior to his iconic role in "Gilligan's Island," Hale Jr. had a successful career in film, appearing in over 200 movies throughout the 1940s and 1950s. He was a versatile actor who could play a wide range of characters, from tough-guy roles to comedic characters. Hale Jr. continued to act in TV and film until his death in 1990.

He was Etta James father. Had an affair. Part of Hollywood's elite, his reputation, and that of his family would have been affected. After all, he had an affair with a black woman. Hale agreed to meet her once. Denied her. We examined pics of both of them. The resemblance between her, Hale, Jr., and Hale Sr. is remarkable.

It was not Alan who was the father, it was the "Pool Shark" Minnesota Fats. It was also documented in the movie "Cadillac Records ". The Alan paternity was a rumor.

@@tonycanabal1659 Movies don't "document" anything. They take editorial license for dramatic effect. They portray certain events. Her father was who I reported it was--and my information did not come from a movie.
