1) I have no friends - back seat is perfect 2) you can't pull a 10,000 lb trailer-got it. 3) I didn't but a truck for mpg 4 I'm 6'4 and a large man. I fit, you will also- pro tip, if you are tall, you don't want a sunroof 5) the guy who selected the transmission, programmed the transmission, and selected the axle ratios, should be squarely kicked in the nuts.

All valid points. I actually hate using the cruise control due to the high revving. Get better gas mpg by just driving without cruise control on long trips

2020 OR - 24 mpg on highway going 65 mph to work each day. Put a Spring Booster in around 2000 miles and never looked back. The throttle is soooo much more responsive and you can adjust it to whatever you prefer. I have mine set on #5 Sport. No more throttle lag…the motor and trans is geared like a “dog” for regular on-road driving and the Sprint Booster made the truck a true dream to drive.

@@pagodad8079 Agree…Toyota factory tune is supposed to be to meet “better gas mileage standards”, unfortunately it affected other areas. The transmission and engine are proven, but it’s the ECU tune in the computer. This can be corrected via 3rd party tune, but I agree…it should be set better from the factory. FYI: the Sprint Booster was $249 and installed it in about 15 minutes myself.

@larryzapotocky1363
@larryzapotocky1363 Год назад
@@Ridezallday1679 I can’t answer the warranty question, you might have to do research on that, I can only speak for how the Sprint Booster works for my truck. I’m not into getting a custom tune because that does void the warranty from what I read, and if you don’t like that particular tune, you will probably have to pay for another tune to get it where you want.

@Ridezallday1679 Год назад
@@larryzapotocky1363 on 3 4 and 5th gear it needs to rev itself up alittle higher to shift properly. On cruise, going up a small incline it will just keep shifting from 4 to 5 and it will just keep going back and forth. Its frustrating.

If your getting poor gas mileage try doing 65 on the fwy and not revving it in city, Toyota (nor ANY manufactures) MPG ratings isn’t based on racing around. Had a 2000 Tacoma TRD Off-Road access cab with a five speed manual for 21 years. I'm 6 foot 1 inch and 215 lbs and fit perfectly in the old model. I went to get a new 2021 Tacoma TRD Pro and literlaly hit my head on the A-pillar because they lowered the roof on that truck. I was really surprised by how small the truck felt even though it was clearly bigger. I loved the six speed manual but wasn't impressed with the truck. I enjoyed the 2000 I had much better. So, the seller recommend I try a TRD Pro Tundra. Literally as I got into that truck and felt it's size and started it up and felt and heard the sound of that 5.7L V8....I knew my days as a Tacoma owner were over, and my days in this dual exhaust Tundra were just beginning. Best part is the power and the size and the Fox Shox make it the most comfortable truck I've ever owned. Great video! Time to upgrade my friend.

I have a 2022 SR, none of the trills. I love the truck. V6, auto double cab. I came from a Toyota Camry Hybrid. My driving habits are probably a lot different than most. At worst I am getting 24+ a gallon and at best 33. To be honest you might not want to ride with me. I get over 500 miles to a tank. I cringe when I here some of the videos from how hard people accelerate. I can see how it would go down fast with all the extra weight and driving habits. I really like the acceleration. I am an older man and have always love Toyota small trucks. I am not disappointed in this one.

A few counters to what he was saying. 1 if you drive sensible your going to get better MPG from the 6 if you want to get 20 or better then ditch the 4wd and get the 2wd like I did. Next the rear seats are perfectly adequate if your just hauling a pair of friends adjusting the fronts will fix the leg room issue. As to towing and hauling ITS NOT A FULL SIZE TRUCK therefore your performance will not match said full sized truck. Chances are if you bought a Tacoma you didn’t need a full size truck anyway. The cabin height is just fine in fact I can’t stand the step packages they offer ( which is why mine was purchased without it) and I fit in it just fine despite my thighs being the diameter of small trees. The drivers seat is fully adjustable so you can find a good fit. Finally took mine on a 3 hour road trip and was perfectly comfortable. The truck is perfectly fine for its intended job

Gas mileage: I get 17mpg in the winter, with using the remote starter on a regular basis. I have a Bed Rug, bed mat, and a cap on the bed. So I've added some weight to it. I get 19-22mpg in the spring, summer, fall. There isn't a lot of leg room in the back, but if everyone is 5'8" or under, it is very comfortable.

I'm 5'10"/185 lbs. If the front seats are in a normal upright comfotable position, the back seat is very comfortable for most people in a 2023 Taco Sport/with moonroof. The same big people have trouble everywhere...I was an old diesel boat sailor back in the 70's and felt sorry for all the big guys on board...they struggled daily just moving around. Frank Lloyd Wright stated that anything designed for a person over 5'10 was wasted space and refused to ever consider it. As a lifelong sea-kayaker, I alwas felt sorry for the big guys forced to buy floating plastic bathtubs to go to sea in. Being smaller has added immeasureably to my life's enjoyment in many ways, except for being a running back in high school when 250 lb defensive linemen started to become a thing...ugh...ouch!

Across 11 Grand brand-new okay I just bought one 5,500 bucks 150 on it it's not beat up at all with never use the truck better than anything on the road today so I was on concern so and don't get good gas miles it gets less than that s*** it only gets like 15 around town maybe 23 on the highway but you got something that will last and Outlast any f****** garbage you can think of you in the new to call Ms. Last

I’ve owned 3 Tacomas. First one was practice how to drive my dad’s 1996 Tacoma prior to getting a driver’s license. 2nd one was a 2012 Tacoma 4x2 crew cab, drove that one for 6 years. 3rd one was a 2016 Tacoma 4x4 TRD sport and owned it for another 4 years until I wrecked the right end corner of the tailbed. I was so disappointed and traumatized that I bought a used 2012 Chevy Colorado LT 4x4 5 inline engine which still is today my daily commuter truck. I love it so much would not really trade or sell it for something else. I think it just made me tired of the Tacoma overall.

My 2021 Toy Tacoma V6 continues to jump (or lurches) forward without reason. I thought it was just my vehicle; however, I had a friend who had the same vehicle with same issues so he traded it and returned to Ford. When I took it back to the dealer they said that was common. I use to really like Toyota but in the last few years they have not improved to the point I expected. I since purchased a Honda and have discovered much more bang for the buck.

My gripe about my 3rd gen Taco is, what's the purpose of this new design? So it has decent off road performance and the reliability you'd expect from Toyota. But other than that, it's no longer the light utility truck that I remember from before. It's dimensions are not much smaller than a full size beast of a truck. Not much lighter either. Gas mileage used to be a high point of the older ones. I was easily getting 25-30 plus on my 99', but a 3rd gen will only get about 16-18 unless you drive like an old fart. And that's about what you'd get out of a full sized truck. Towing capacity is very limited and the bed is very small. So is there anything this thing can do well?

I had a 1st gen tacoma TRD offroad and never saw better than 20 mpg hwy. I now have a 3rd gen trd offroad doublecab and get 21 mpg hwy and it weighs nearly 1000 lbs more than my first gen. Off roading and to some looking good (design language). However, the next gen will likely fix many things with the 2.4 turbo hybrid. And the TNGA-F platform should make things roomier inside. I don't know who made the decision to put the 3.5 car engine and the horrible 6 speed akison transmission into the third gen. All I know is they were wrong. But the reason is obvious. To satisfy the EPA. Probably a bit better MPG's then the older 4 liter. They probably get environmental credits for that. Just like everyone is going to DI motors. To reduce emissions and make the EPA happy. Or like GM's terrible AFM (active fuel managment) that turn off cylinders. IMO a really bad idea and has caused issues in the past with lifters etc.. But it makes the EPA happy :)

For those of you thinking about buying Tacoma or have not driven one, all you heard is of other people be telling you how good it is. well, I highly recommend you not to buy it. reason 1, they only give you a warranty of 30,000 miles or 3 years that's all. First, if their truck really that good or last as long as they said it would, then why only give you 30,000 miles or 3 years warranty? I bought my first 2018 Tacoma, at the end of 2019, after nearly 2 years the paint at the roof top and at the hood were start peeling off. after 3 years later, most of the paints were all gone from the front hood and the roof top. I mean, seriously, this truck only 3 years old and most of the paints are all gone? The Toyota financial service refused to do the painting for me because I have driven 32,000 miles on it? I was soooo pissed off. f..k Toyota i said! I hope yall take my advice and don't buy toyota. P.s, the truck is very slow and it struggle a lot just with only me in it.
