Chicago is beautiful and not all scary the way people think. The summer shows much more of the activity. People here are used to doing rolling stops just because, not because of fear or anything. Thanks for checking out our city.
Definitely more activity during the summer. We all bear through the cold weather. Chicago isn’t as bad people make it out to be. But yes some areas are more dangerous than others. South side and West side down North Ave it can get crazy.
Madison & LeClaire in Austin is dangerous, Austin is another hood that shit get’s cracking, every summer they have Florida Hood style Block Parties called Fee fee on the Block, very common on the Westside, Gangs in Chicago is going back to wearing Sport Jerseys again.
Lots of buildings are built out of brick here which helps the bad areas look sort of good. Luckily you had a safe drive & was able to enjoy some good Cuban food!
It's a combination of both cold and dangerous. But those hoods are empty more because of the cold. In the summer those blocks are active and busy. Even with the violence. Meanwhile more crowded neighborhoods are busy even when its cold. For example Michigan Avenue, State Street, Downtown, Lake View, River North are busy even in the cold, rain or shine. It depends where you are. But the whole city does get shut down during a blizzard or extreme cold. Schools close, work gets canceled etc People get bad snow days off
A Chicago Cop pulled up behind me on my Harley stopped at a Red Traffic Light while riding home from Midway Airport . Forget the name of the Street but it was a North - South between Cicero and Central . He hit the lights and horn , came over the intercom and said "GET OVER HERE NOW" . Ran back to His car , drivers side window was down about 3/4" and He yelled " WHAT THE F..K Are you doing....(rhetorical question obviously) ......YOU DON'T STOP AT STOP LIGHTS IN THIS 'hood" "NOW GET ON MY '6' , STAY AS CLOSE AS YOU CAN AND ILL LET YOU KNOW WHEN YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN " I followed Him for about 2 miles .... FLYING !! We got a lot of greens and slowed the approach at Red lights and when he was ready to "release" me , he situated his car in the main intersection at a left oblique (southeast to northwest) and turned off His lights at which point I took it to mean head west here . F..K Chicago !! Born and raised there . Moved here to Texas from Schaumburg, IL. in 2014 after my property taxes went up 70% !!!
Because all 3 major race groups are there. Whites, blacks and latinos all fighting for a slice of the pie. Irish, Italian, polish, and so on. Everyone wanting to eat. USA at its finest a battle for survival
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS thats why i like FL. FL is a northern southern state because its more northerners down there than anything so i can see the north being better.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS the north is not better. At least not in the Midwest. Especially Chicago. Very few people show their true colors. If you think you know where you stand with them you are probably wrong.
Jose, on your way back home please go to Dillion AND Darlington South Carolina. You can hit them both in your way back to Florida!!😁😁Jose why didn’t you do a DECENT view of your food. Why didn’t you VIDEO yours and Katie’s plate. Next time you two eat at a Cuban restaurant video the plates of food.
@@FLORIDAHOODVLOGS New York City is not cat friendly because they have the best public transportation in the nation. You don’t need to have a car to get around in NYC and they also have numerous Cab Bases/Taxi Cab Bases that one can call and the cab will come to wherever you are and take you wherever you want to go, even out of town; And I mean OUT OF TOWN. There are Bases that will drive you down to Florida and I kid you not. So this is why NYC isn’t car friendly.
“We been on this block too much let’s get out of this hood” lmfao while a blonde Barbie across the street parking her Porsche about to eat sushi with the girls 💀 Chicago really isn’t that scary bro smh..
40:07 This hood is East Humboldt Park/West Town. It's gentrified over the years and alot of wealthy Whtes have moved in, crime falling along with it. Crime does happen but nowhere near what it used to be in the 90s 2000s. Those blocks were the motherland of the Maniac Latin Disciples, Spanish Cobras, and Almighty Imperial Gangsters back then and they would openly gangbang deep on those corners, harrassing passing cars yelling and throwing gang signs at people or cars they thought were opps or flakes. Nowadays those gangs are basically extinct there. They died off around 2010. Alot of new construction around the area now. Crime does still happen sometimes but it's a much safer neighborhood. Same deal with Logan Square. Wicker Park too but that was further back in the 70s 80s. I wasn't born yet. It's gentrified now. Logan Sqaure is almost fully gentrified but still has work to do
Wrong --all day long INDIANA plates,Wisconsin, Michigan,Iowa plates roam the streets ----Never robberies based on out of state plates ..Crime happens to clueless people on cell phones ,yappin away in their cars ,walking around with ear pods etc etc ..
Why do people always want to see a city's worst neighborhoods? All slums look alike- decrepit buildings, boarded up buildings, tacky signs, a bleak look all around. Why not cruise all over the vast north side, which is crammed with beautiful neighborhoods/
