Even though it was a terrible day with only a couple of decent finds, your videos are always a decent history lessons for your subscribers.

I’m glad your Deus 2 was working as it should today. Maybe there is some electrical interference in that particular field causing your detector to malfunction. No shame there John we all have bad days and, on the other hand if you had an excellent finds day every time you went out, there are some skeptics who would say it's all a set up because you keep getting good finds. It is actually kind of nice to see a video where you don't get much. Sometimes it almost seems unbelievable how many coins and other things you pull out of the ground.

I would worry about every day being amazing, that just is unrealistic. You’ve had amazing days so some days will be sub par. But it’s better than the home and garden chores on my schedule. Your videos are a reward for me doing my chores.

Hey John. Can't help but notice that you've remembered the big numbers on the display more often recently. 😂

I'm glad to hear the coil is working properly now. I'm surprised they don't have a wire connection as an option, I like bluetooth and all, but a cheap wire should be able to do the trick if needed. Don't worry about the wind from the viewer's point of view, I can't even hear it on the video so it really bothers you more than anyone.

Yon big disc at 4:00 is marked General Post Office. I would suggest that it came off an old, removed because it had rotted, telegraph pole. (Ex B.T. engineer)

So many people think that it is all gold and silver and treasure and sadly 95+% of the time, it is a big old bag of rusty, or aluminum s@#t. I could open a store for rusty nasty old nails, and tractor bits. John you have done the metal detecting video world a service, and showed the people what the real world looks like! But, BUT, there is silver and gold hiding...

How do? John! I made it out for the first time here in lower Michigan. Inspired by you. I found a ring finger corkscrew, a small Vaseline jar, a hoard of nails all from 1900 to 1910, and also a cell phone. I ended up sitting on the ground and rolling the pin pointer across the ground, so many nails. I found these in about half an hour. Not crazy old to you, but to us in the States it's pretty old. So do we get points for noticing your Bonnie haircut. Lol thanks for the encouragement sweetness can't wait go out again. You are appreciated. Keep making great videos. One more thing, are u and Simon ok?

John - Videos like this can be considered a public service - not all holes yield coppers and silvers... :) I know on my own digs I come up with tons of trash, but you've got to dig them all to find the good stuff!

Your channel is doing great and I watch them all. Perhaps you can find some new permissions. People love to see detecting in the woods and around structures, water detecting (a la Hoover boys) also is very engaging. In the eastern United states, long abandoned farms are frequently woods in the present. Are there any trees in Scotland?

I thank you for your suffering, which often draws me to watch, I simply visit my local coin shop a couple of times a month. My latest acquisitions are 4 commemorative silver medals from Victoria to George V/ Mary in really nice condition for less £50.

I'm just wondering.... do any of you ever detect around the old walls ? Do you suppose someone could have hidden items in the crevices? Love your videos, got my Scottish ears on!! You need to come on with a kilt sometime... you know, just to make it legit!! LOL

Are there any visible radio towers in line of sight to the field that gave you problems? might be microwave interference, if the coil uses Bluetooth at 2.4Ghz, there are some microwave transmitters that operate in the 2-3Ghz range so it could be saturating that frequency.

It's when you have a rubbish only day having paid full price for a detecting rally it really p155es you off.

Damn John, if a field is trying that hard to keep you away… it may be time to borrow the hoard hunter again! I always imagine people in the past hiding things in or near landmarks. Can you detect all those stone walls? Or has that proven pointless?

Always the next time ! Just think some day you’ll get paid to detect !
