You're absolutely correct Ned the sooner drivers are given the respect they deserve the better the employers don't seem to realise that it's the drivers that's earning the company the profits at the end of the year and the public that there'd be sod all on the shelfs without us being Welsh Twin Town is a must watch for us over here and I'm sure it's from the scene where the guy falls of the roof if you get a chance have a watch of it

1:26:08 Hi Ned, sometimes that big gap means that in front of the lorry was parked a Van or 7.5t/12t Class 2 and it left. If the lorry driver was doing his daily rest, he didn't move and the gap was vacant for another smaller vehicle. And, some lorry drivers do 9hrs, some do 11hrs and there are even drivers waiting for the loading/unloading time slot (they don't want to start their shift because of working time). 41:24 What I love about Ned is he's been driving professionally for 30 years and still doesn't understand merge in turn. That lane is NOT closed. If they wanted you to queue in one lane the cones would start miles back.
Exactly. They're merely using all available road space and merging in turn as every single driving organization recommends they should. AA, RAC, IAM, you name it.

Found myself on your chanel and then hooked on watching the journeys and enjoying your real life commentary. When Ive driven Europe it is always the volume of Trucks which I find incredible. The world commerce would collapse without you guys. Best wishes to you all, I have taken on a new respect
Hi Ned, I think the trailer at 1:34:36 is a glass trailer without the top cover. Sheets of glass get loaded on a frame, the rear part swings open and you lower the trailer , reverse so the frame/glass sits inside the trailer and raise the suspension lifting the frame. Then closes the rear. There are some videos on RU-vid showing the process.
I remember from the times when I had my bus license (40 years ago), these trailers were very fairly common in Germany to carry all kinds of "sheets" up to about 4.5m high (glass, concrete, steel).

I'm only a few minutes into this video, and you've come out with the classic mindset that winds up most if not all of the continental Europeans. I'm an native English speaker, and I have enough spoken French to get by with (I can also ask for beer in Spanish :-)). To travel to a foreign country, and expect for them to speak English - or be sacked - even I find unbelievable - how about if you wish to travel into a foreign country, particularly for work, that you learn their language first? I have heard of people making the same argument as yours before, but never actually seen anyone making it. I do find you very entertaining, and at times borderline nuts, but this did surprise me..!
Customs jobs are valued in this part of the world where jobs are thin on the ground - nice government salary with the opportunity to make extra 'income'. They are therefore handed out to relatives and friends. Whether or not you speak English does not come into it!

Hi Ned, to answer your question about the red trailer at 1:34:34, it is a trailer used for Glass or concrete. The Glass/ Concrete panels would be large and on a special platform so that the driver slides the trailer in/underneath the load and pick it up with the air suspension of the trailer. @@NedKellyIreland I hope you are doing well Ned. Hereby an update; I have passed my Class 1 end of March this year and looking for a job. Thought I had one but they find 1 hour and 20 mins to commute from my home to the depot to much. I smashed my assessment though. Would love to start with a company and drive national in the UK and Ireland, most companies like to see 6 months, 1 year or even 2 years of experience! If no one will hire me I can't build up experience on a Class 1 or is it me thinking out loud and bluntly?

That red trailer is what we call a 'Binnenlader' or an Inloader. They pick up frames with slabs of concrete for building sites and such. Anyway! Thanks for a great video again! Can't wait to see more of your travels. I recognize a lot, I live in the south of the Netherlands, drive in Belgium a lot too, and I recognised a lot of the road in Bavaria near Regensburg and such, we go there on holidays every year, it's like a second home to me!
