I dont agree that it's because of their league, transfer window and travel!! I think Brazil are still producing wonderful players I.e. Neymar (even thought I am not a big fan), Rodrygo, Arthur, Gabriel Jesus etc. The argument that players leave too early does not really stand with me either. Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Kaka, Carlos etc all left Brazil before they were 20 and still brought joy to the world. Even the argument regarding travel when completing international matches does not stand with me. Brazil have been doing world tours since the 80s with the national team and still won titles, furthermore club sides like Santos were completing world tours since the 60s to showcase Pele and Garrincha. So I think these arguments are flawed. I think the main problem is that the national team managers have dropped the flair and their expressive brand of the 4-4-2 box and expressive brand of 3-5-2 in favour of the boring Mourinho esq 4-2-3-1 which means their play has become much more rigid and structured when they play in national tournos. For me if Brazil as a national team want to win again they must regain their identity and stop playing like Europeans.

In volleyball, Brazil national squad had the better team for over a decade and won all the competitions, world cup, Olympics a several times because this is not soccer. Originally the world champions in 2002 and in Qatar it will be 20 years since Brazil was crowned world champions. If Brazil is to return to be the best men's team in the world then they have to step up to Europe's elite. Brazil is having problems with big teams from Europe in the World Cup. Argentina and Uruguay don't offer Brazil competition really in South America nor any other teams from any part of the world. The same can be said even with their women's team, although in that case they have to focus on invesment given USA, Germany, Japan, Norway ,made strong investments on their women's national team and were successful. Brazil could win both with the men and women as it was a super power in soccer-football.

I think Italy's decline is for opposite reasons. They don't have the players anymore but they still have tactics. Italy hasn't had a superstar player in 10 years. Which player is following the footsteps of Baggio, Del Piero, or Vieri? And defensively you have Bonucci and Chiellini, but they are far faraway from Maldini, Nesta, Baresi's quality.

Well, try to discuss ir with our culture. We make the players have the obligation to win the WC. And when they don't they usually are seen as failures or disapointments. And then only the better players or the ones who actually played good can go on with the national team. Maybe it's to harsh, but thats the way it is. Look at neymar and Marcelo for example, they are seen line bad players or medium at best. And why is that? Because they didn't win a major title with Brasil (they won 2013 confederarions cup but it's often forgotten and seen like a not important title). Dani alves otherwise has 2 Copa America and 1 confederations cup. He also didn't participated in 2014 and 2018 failures so he is safe from that. And because of that he is seen with better eyes than Neymar, T. silva and Marcelo. His legact will probably be bigger than these other players even tought the quality is the same

Totally true mate. Ive commented answering another coment that up to our fourth division every single team is corruption, agent profit and results (fan pressure/in club politics) driven. One thing i would like to add is the impact this has on the debuts of young players, which is also absurd! The amount of pressure a 17 y.o. very poor fella that can maybe give a better future to his family goes through when coming into a stadium to debut at a league where his team HAS to win, or maybe will go to a 2nd division, or maybe won't make it to the libertadores, or maybe...
