I dont agree that it's because of their league, transfer window and travel!! I think Brazil are still producing wonderful players I.e. Neymar (even thought I am not a big fan), Rodrygo, Arthur, Gabriel Jesus etc. The argument that players leave too early does not really stand with me either. Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Kaka, Carlos etc all left Brazil before they were 20 and still brought joy to the world. Even the argument regarding travel when completing international matches does not stand with me. Brazil have been doing world tours since the 80s with the national team and still won titles, furthermore club sides like Santos were completing world tours since the 60s to showcase Pele and Garrincha. So I think these arguments are flawed. I think the main problem is that the national team managers have dropped the flair and their expressive brand of the 4-4-2 box and expressive brand of 3-5-2 in favour of the boring Mourinho esq 4-2-3-1 which means their play has become much more rigid and structured when they play in national tournos. For me if Brazil as a national team want to win again they must regain their identity and stop playing like Europeans.

@@dicitencellovoyais7914 that's why soccer is so popular man. Even a not so good team can have a good time and win several matches, draw other ones, penalties, in a row and, bang, world cup. In volleyball this is not possible. You must have a better team if you want to win. Never a volleyball world league could be won by a weak team neither at least make it to the semi-finals. In volleyball, Brazil national squad had the better team for over a decade and won all the competitions, world cup, Olympics a several times because this is not soccer. I dont agree that Brazil had a complete "decline"... because the team is always betwen the favourites to win the WC. Brazil is always in the quarter finals... semi finals... That means a lot. Also Brazil always have players on the top, like Neymar... So I think its a little too much say that Brazil had a decline. The team only had a lack of "lucky" and focus in the last WCs. @@SpiceBoy7UK23 To be honest and sincere Brazil has seen strong competition rise from Europe. Originally the world champions in 2002 and in Qatar it will be 20 years since Brazil was crowned world champions. If Brazil is to return to be the best men's team in the world then they have to step up to Europe's elite. Brazil lost to France twice, Holland twice and Germany and Belgium in the last World Cups. 1994,1998,2002 Brazil finished 1st, 2nd, 1st with the other finishing Quarterfinal, Quarterfinal, Semifinal, Quarterfinal. Brazil is having problems with big teams from Europe in the World Cup. Argentina and Uruguay don't offer Brazil competition really in South America nor any other teams from any part of the world. But if Brazil is to return to win back world titles, they have to really step up against UEFA elite. The same can be said even with their women's team, although in that case they have to focus on invesment given USA, Germany, Japan, Norway ,made strong investments on their women's national team and were successful. Brazil could win both with the men and women as it was a super power in soccer-football.

@@rogerstephenroth8073 : I think a quality foreign manager from EUROPE would make a big difference and would help them a lot. Well, try to discuss ir with our culture. We make the players have the obligation to win the WC. And when they don't they usually are seen as failures or disapointments. And then only the better players or the ones who actually played good can go on with the national team. Maybe it's to harsh, but thats the way it is. Look at neymar and Marcelo for example, they are seen line bad players or medium at best. And why is that? Because they didn't win a major title with Brasil (they won 2013 confederarions cup but it's often forgotten and seen like a not important title). Dani alves otherwise has 2 Copa America and 1 confederations cup. He also didn't participated in 2014 and 2018 failures so he is safe from that. And because of that he is seen with better eyes than Neymar, T. silva and Marcelo. His legact will probably be bigger than these other players even tought the quality is the same

This migration of players to foreign countries does not impact only the brazilian national team . This is a problem for many nations . Ask yourself why Lione Messi as well as Cristian Ronaldo have never won a World Cup . When you keep playing on a foreign soil , you cannot suddenly go to your country and integrate in your national team quick enough to win the toughest competition in the world . You can see when Messi is playing for Barcelona these players in some sort have developed like a telepathic way to anticipate each other's move , and it's the same scenario with C. Ronaldo and Real Madrid . Preventing Pele from being bought by foreign clubs was the best decision ever taken by the Brazilian government and the results speak for themselves .

You failed to mention the main reason of Brazil's national team decline : outdated and coward managers. That's it. Having most of the players perform in Europe has never been a big problem from 1994-2002, when we played 3 WC finals consecutively. in 94, among the starting 11 in the final against Italy, only midfielders Zinho and Mazinho played locally. In 98, it was only defender Junior Baiano and midfielder Cesar Sampaio. In 2002, goalkeeper Marcos and midfielder Kleberson. Everybody else played in Europe. The REAL thing is, Brazilian club football has become ABSURDLY driven by "results only" for the last 20 years or so. Desperate for money and balancing costs and spending, clubs would accept ANY manager that would bring home 1-0 victories with defensive and boring football. It wasnt much of a problem in the early 2000s because by then we still had superstars that were developed in the 90s, where managers still had freedom to be agressive and pursue the beautiful game. But as the generation of Ronaldo/Rivaldo/Ronaldinho faded, the new generation of players were developed in this coward "1-0" environment, especially managers. Even old managers, that pursued a beautiful corageous game during the 90s, are now cowards who fear letting the team go for the win because if they loose, they get sacked. This result-driven harsh environment we had for the last 20 years has produced an avalanche of managers that don't know how to properly set up a team, tactically. They're just cowards hanging on to dear life. And our confederation just promotes the less shitty of the entire bunch to manage the national team. There's only really one short-term solution to this : foreign managers who are not yet contaminated by all this cowardice and short-sighted vision of 1-0 results.

Totally true mate. Ive commented answering another coment that up to our fourth division every single team is corruption, agent profit and results (fan pressure/in club politics) driven. One thing i would like to add is the impact this has on the debuts of young players, which is also absurd! The amount of pressure a 17 y.o. very poor fella that can maybe give a better future to his family goes through when coming into a stadium to debut at a league where his team HAS to win, or maybe will go to a 2nd division, or maybe won't make it to the libertadores, or maybe... And its on him? Its just sacanagem. Psychological aspects are really not taken seriously. This result driven shit is really bad for the youth rising. Even Barça recently has been a proof of this, burning up great, promising youth players because of their recent result driven mentality. We are not filtering the mentally strong, we are helping to make them mentally weak. I still think our youth is the best, and by far.

Superbly skilled players who worked hard for each other, and even though they never won the World Cup, they will forever be remembered for their brilliant overall play, true Brazilian style. Nowadays, you have so called superstars, and with a player like Neymar, you have a guy who thinks he is one the greats, and spends his time play acting on the pitch as if he’s trying hard for an Academy award. Brazil simply isn't as dominant as they were before, but still every single damm year are among the 5 best nations in the world. Outside of 2014 (in which they still reached the semis), in the other 3 WCs they literally only got bounced out in a super tough match decided by a 1 goal difference off a set piece. They are the only nation to reach at least the quarters of the last 7 world cups man... since 2002 they have 3 copa americas, 3 confederations cup, 3 olympic medals, 8 overall U20 and U17 finals with 4 titles. No other country has more titles than Brazil since 2002 so I really don't understand that logic, it ain't like there's a country dominating the last 15 years, 5 different teams won the 5 world cups this century, that's the only difference there is more competition around but they still are elite. Hell brazilians actually led the scoring charts in 6 of the past 7 champions leagues, how the hell are they in decline? So basically Spain, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Argentina and everyone that didn't win the WC or made its final is in decline? Also, like how you conveniently chose to start conting the libertadores from 2014 on as brazilian teams made 9 straight finals before that and even then they have literally the highest winning % in each of the last 15 libertadores overall lol; they won literally 6 of the last 10 libertadores this decade dude and have a winning record overall against argentinian clubs by a solid margin in the last 10 years. Like, you flat lie invent shit up to fit your narrative, such as Flamengo getting dominated by River or Belgium easily dismantling Brazil (lol that one was hilarious did you even watch the game they did win but hell it was as tough a match as one can have and they literally parked the bus the last 30 minutes of the game conceding multiple chances; the difference in the score was an own goal of a corner dude I wouldn't call that easily dismantling lol). Now, Brazil ain't the juggernaut they were in let's say the 90s and ealry 2000s but htat's simply coz there hasn't been a juggernaut like that in the last 30 years other than France from 97-04 (even their older guys still were able to reach the WC final in 06) and spain 08-12. Luckymag 2016 The 2014 World Cup Team was ranked 23rd in July of 2013, and by some stroke of FIFA’s magic wand, they made it to 5th in the rankings by May 2014. No nation has ever climbed that high playing teams like El Salvador and Trinidad. In 2014, Brazil was ass the entire tournament, their squad was terrible, barely any real World Class talent, and by the luck of biased/shady refereeing they made it to the Semi’s where they got merked 7-1 (I knew they’d lose 3-0 but 7-1 just made that point that much easier) then they got merked by the Netherlands 3-0. They relied on Neymar on Offense, and Silva for Defense. They had no solid striker beside Neymar, no solid midfielder, and Thiago and Marcelo to hold down the defense with a 37 year old goalie who wasn’t playing top flight football anymore. 2014 was abysmal by Brazil’s Standards. Their 2018 World Cup Team was way better then that shit show in 2014. Like I said, Brazil won the 2019 Copa America without Neymar. Neymar handicaps that team more then anything else. His “European Diving” ruins everything Brazil even tries to do. In 2019, his replacement, Edwardo (I think was his name) got tackled outside the box, but instead of rolling around on the group, he got back up, went in on goal and scored! That’s the type of class Brazil has been lacking! Yes, Brazil is still World Class, but their political life has started affecting their Youth Level, that will translate in 10-20 years from now of that doesn’t fix soon.

All national teams are in decline and international competitions like the Euro Cup , World cup not to mention Copa America . The reason to me is that the club competions like the Champions league and the Premier league , La Liga , ect . Are so competitive now and teams in the top 5 leagues in Europe play like 3 matches a week . So when they go to the world cup they are already exsausted from the long season playing so many matches at very high level

In my opinion there is another reason: The Brazilian National players play in too many different clubs and leagues. If you just look on German or Spanish dominance you can see blocks of players. Especially when the main strength of a team is grounded in technical brilliance it could be a huge advantage to have players which are used to play with each other. Just look on the example of Shakthar Donetsk. They have 10-15 Brazilian players each season and they are a very competitive European team. Though the single players might have a lower quality than the overall team. This quality gap is filled by the collective brilliance of technically advanced good Brazilian footballers sharing same culture and idea of play.

This not only has a negative impact on their domestic league, but also means Europeans get to know the Brazilian players (strengths & weaknesses) very well. I think the explanation is pretty simple. Other top soccer countries have not just caught up, but have long surpassed Brazil in talent production. Couple that with the more rapid development of the game in Europe, and it provides some of the big reasons behind Brazil’s disappointing showing in recent World Cups. I don’t think they’ve really declined. Just surpassed.

I personally feel the quality and passion of today's top Brazilians are a shadow of their predecessors. That to me is the biggest problem. People claimed Neymar was a top 5 player before proving himself as such. What happened. He couldn't take over Messi's role as key player for Barca and took a big paycheck for a club in the world's 5th strongest league. He went from playing in the world's strongest to 5th for money and still getting outshined sometimes. Pathetic. I disagree with comments saying the game has enhanced over the years that caused this problem. I've been watching football long enough to say that's a load of crap. Overall quality of today's top teams and players are weaker than their predecessors. From watching and supporting the Brazilian league, I feel what's really needed is a system upgrade. The current Brazilian football club schedule is a mess. They start off playing regional league competition that turns into the Copa Do Brazil playoff before beginning the regular season. That's insane.

I mean, I'd say it's more like the world caught up to us than anything else. The 1994-2006 generation was also something very exceptional, we went to 3 WC finals out of 4, won 2 of them and even though we didn't win in 2006 that team was widely considered to be the strongest out of all Brazilian teams since 1982 and was the hands down favorites to win the World Cup. Also, there's some very cherrypicked data, you get the results of Libertadores since 2014 probably because before then Brazilian teams had gone to 10 consecutive Libertadores finals and won 6 of them. There's no question that Brazilian teams dominate South American football, with millionaire clubs like Flamengo, Sao Paulo, Palmeiras, Atletico MG and others spending double on their roster when compared to Boca or River. However, I'll say that what is true is that out leagues declined when compared to European leagues. There's no question about that. In the 60s, 70s, 80s until the mid 90s the best Brazilian sides could compete with the best European sides, but now the gulf is just enormous. There's a lot of reasons for that, lack of organization from CBF and the clubs, economic disparity, the fact that football is more globalized and players from Africa, Eastern Europe and Asia are regularly scouted by European teams while being ignored by Brazilian ones etc... But, that shouldn't mean much for the Seleção's ability to contend, even though our youth is being poached the country hasn't stopped producing talent. Look at the Seleção today and you'll see that, in sheer power alone, we're still probably top 3, definitely top 5 in the world. The most damaging effect of players not playing in Brazil is that our style went from being a super offensive side reliant on individual skill to break the lines which would create the dribbles and plays that made us famous with the "joga bonito" tagline to becoming a more generic team play style of football. I'm much less fearful of the Seleção's decline than I am of our willingness to give up our style of football. We will always be a contender, but if we don't play like the Brazil we portray ourselves to be, the people won't be in our side and we will lose what made us special in the first place.

There are sooooooo many mistakes here... - Belgium definitely did not easily win that match, they barely scraped through it. - Also, Corinthians were not fresh out of the Libertadores, 6 months had gone already (similar to Chelsea). If anything, Chelsea were in the middle of the season, Corinthians were at the end of the gruelling Brazilian season (Brazilian clubs play, on average, 10 matches more than european clubs). While Chelsea were underperforming at the time of the Club World Cup, you failed to mention that so were Corinthians: they ended the Brasileirão at the 6th position. - Flamengo were not champions due to River Plate failings. This is the best club team to come out of the continent in almost 20 years, they were deserving champions. Liverpool also barely won against them in very tight match and only managed to do it after Flamengo lost steam in extra time. - Santos never had a chance against Barcelona. They had Neymar, sure, but that team was an inferior team when compared to the same Santos from a year before. They won the Libertadores in 2011 basically through gruelling tight matches. They ended that year 's Brasileirão in 10th. - Gabriel Barbosa was rejected at european clubs not because he is a bad player, but because he of his arrogant, difficult character. - Brazil's records at the Libertadores must be taken with a grain of salt. Most of the advantage Argentina has in number of titles came in the late 60s and 70s, when Brazilian clubs simply did not give any importance to the Libertadores due to the then low financial rewards. Also, in the last 30 years, brazilian clubs have kept a tight dominance at the Libertadores. You should really do some proper research before coming out with these videos. There is some good stuff here, but it is just marred by these mistakes.

Brazillian managers are motivators and are skillful at managing egos which is a key skill to have in some national squads (France, for instance, leaves out great players just because there would be too many egos clashing), but they lack tactical skills and rely too much on individual performance as many people have said. It is easier to manage teams like Italy or Germany where players have already a very tactical mindset and they don't need too much talk to fall into position and are constantly aware of their teammates positioning in the field so they cover spaces when they have too, compensate, help out defensively when the game requires, etc...

i mean yes, playing together at club level def helps with understanding each other and chemistry but its not nearly as big a deal. sure bayern has lots of german internationals, as do madrid or barca with spanish guys, but how many france internationals play on the same team in ligue 1, or guys from belgium or the netherlands? these r countries with top talent who play all over europe and their teams r still good. and the transfer thing is kinda bullshit to me. that happens what, like once in their careers for the most part? if thats the reason they dont make it then they never had the mental strength to do it anyway. brazilian football def isnt what it used to be, partly due to others catching up and partly also due to brazilian culture. they love to party (nothing wrong with that). but this means that they dont constantly put all their focus and effort into their craft and thus, they dont maintain their peak as long or never even reach it which means for any given generation u might only have one specific window to win sth when u have the experience and talent and youth. but once that chance is gone, the ones in their primes fall off quickly and only some talented guys come through since many wont put in the work. again, enjoy life if u want to (and if u can) but itll hinder ur potential. playing in different leagues or on different teams isnt that big a thing and the transfer argument just dsnt hold up

I remember when I was a kid around (2000-2007) and whenever I heard Brazil in football context. my skin would crawl of fear of thinking in all those names: Ronaldo, Kaka, Ronaldinho, Robinho, Cafu,Roberto Carlos… the “joga bonito” (Sorry if I butchered that I’m not portuguese or brazilian) It was genuine fear. Now I hear Brazil and I go like: 💤 Now hearing “Germany” or “France” is what induces fear to me.

Between 1970 and 1994, Brazil failed to win 5 world cups. And then they came back and won the 94 and the 02 world cups. So considering they haven't won between 2002 and 2018 which is 4 world cups, on paper, those years between 1970 and 1994 are worse than the years between 2002 and the 2018 world cups.

I am Brazilian and someone that watches both brazilian and european football, so here's my opinion: 1) Players of the best squads in the brazilian league are GOOD. They might not be world class level, but surely are better than the average european player. If you do a research, you will hardly find brazilians 27+ years old in mid table european teams, because if they don't play CL or UEL, they would rather come back to their home country. 2) Even though the current generation is way below the previous ones, Brazil doesn't lack in talent, the major flaw in brazilian football is tactics. While the europeans evolve their game year after year, brazilians stopped in time and play the same way they did in the late 90's because, as the coaches here like to say, "we won the World Cup five times like that, why change?" (for me the 1x7 is explained by that) 3) Brazilian clubs are commanded by people that don't have the slightest condition to be there, they always spend more than what they earn, are undeveloped at marketing and are unable to sell the leagues image right to foreign television channels. I am sure most of them can't run a bakery, what should I say about millionare clubs? Obviously that means the huge majority of them are broke and have to sell their futere stars for a fraction of they could earn with them in order to not shut down and actually pay the players that are currently there. 4) In this century, brazilians have been doing way better than argentinians in the continental tournament. Argentina has more titles bacause they have always taken it seriously (competition is 60 years old), while brazilians didn't really give a f*ck about it until the early 90's 5) I disagree when the video says that there is nothing to be done to compete with europeans. Brazil is the biggest talent farm in the world and every club has millions of devoted fans. If the problems that I mentioned in the text are solved, I think Brazil can face Europe. Thanks for reading and sorry for the long text :)

I 100 percent agree with the video.. Back in the 50s and 60s and 70s when the leagues were a bit more balanced Brazil stood out.. But from the 90s on pretty much every elite player not from Europe will go to Europe to play for a top 20 or 30 team.. Its more money and more prestige playing in the UCL and La Liga and Serie A and Premier League ect.. So the Brazilians get split up and each big team might only have 1 or 2 Brazilian national team starters so they don't build that very important team chemistry and become overly reliant on Players like Neymar.. Just like Argentina do with Messi and to similar poor results.. It doesn't help that Neymar is an overated little Bitch.. In Europe you will commonly have the entire Spanish National team playing for Real Madrid and Barca and Athletico ... For Italy most of their players are on Juve.. For Germany all of them play for Bayern or Dortmund.. So those teams have much more natural chemistry and advantage when they play as a national team.. The results speak for themselves as Italy, Spain, and Germany have all won recent WCs and 7 of the 8 last WC final teams were European ... The gap is only getting wider as its more prestigious to play for Valencia or Lazio or Bayer Leverkausen or Spurs then it is for the best team in Brazil .. Also Brazil and Argentina have used poor tactics and squad selections over the years.. Esp Argentina.. Uruguay thou has maximised its talent and potential

First, let me say I am not Brazilian, but I am a Brazilian fan when my national team is not playing. Many of those comments talk about Brazil being destroyed and why Brazil is not dominant in football. If you follow football, usually the best national teams in the world usually wait 18 to 20+ years to win another world cup, except Brazil. After 1970, it took Brazil 24 years to win a world - 1994, then 2002.. Before that they won 1958 and 1962 Italy about the same: 1982 then 2006. Germany from 1990 to 2014; France from 1998 to 2018; Argentina has won it since 1986. As far Uruguay, it has been over half of century since they won one. So you guys make it sound as if winning a world cup is a cake walk. Not to mention there are now more national teams in the world than before with the breakup of major countries like the former Yugoslavia or the Soviet Union, and the competition is tighter than before. Ask Germany or Netherlands If you don't believe me. Brazil still has managed to win two Olympic golds in a row, not to mention Copa America in between. How many teams can claim that king of records. So take a breather when you say Brazil is getting destroyed - simply because they have not won a world cup in the last 19 years or so. Watch out, they may actually win it in Qatar in 2022 since it is a 20 year mark.😊

Sorry, but this video is absolutely nonsense and generic narratives, full of absolutely a bunch a distorted facts and flat out lies. That doesn't mean they ain't elite hell today there literally isn't any national team above the rest, Portgual ain't even close to being of the 5 best national teams out there, neither by collecitve game nor talent wise (although they still are pretty good just not among the top 5) and they won the last nations league.

For you to say from Pele to Neymar is the most insulting thing you could ever say regarding to Brazil's greatest players before now. Neymar has actually achieved nothing for Brazil. Brazil biggest problem is first, their players are abandoning their natural ways of skills and flairs, trying to compete with Europe in the tactical style of the game which suits the European more. Another issue Brazil's issue is their midfielders going to play in the mechanical premiership thus declining their natural style. In nutshell, Brazil needs to find its identity, without it, they will continue to struggle.

Brazilian football had a WC winning lull between 1970 and 1994, and then also appeared in the 1998 & 2002 finals. Based on that calculation they are scheduled to win the WC again in 2026. It's rather terrible how you skew data to support a predetermined narrative rather than perform any actual analysis in this piece. Why on earth would you only look at LIbertadores since 2014? Only to then compare the total # of Libertadores winners between Brazil and Argentina? So many of your "points" lack any context. In the last 10 years, Brazilian clubs have won 6 Libertadores titles compared to Argentina's 3. Prior to the 90s, most teams in Brazil did not gave a damn about the tournament. It was infamous for match-fixing and unsafe environments with regular pitch invasions and chaos breaking out in the stands. It was only after SPFC won two of them back-to-back in 92-93 with their forward-looking management that interest in the tournament was ignited nationally, particularly due to their rivalries with other large, traditional clubs. Nowhere in this video is the Brazilian football calendar mentioned outside of passing remarks to justify European sides losing to Brazilian clubs who have 1/20th of their payroll or less. The year-round calendar for football in Brazil is packed with largely disconnected but traditional regional tournaments, 38 national league matches per club, an open national cup, libertadores, and sul-americana matches all combining to create a grueling, never-ending season with two matches per week on average and only a few weeks of rest in January before starting it all over again. That is essentially 11 months of non-stop games every single year. This is another incentive for players to leave for abroad, and it also causes unnecessary injuries, further adding to turnover rates and the journeyman "problem." Parreira even said in an interview that the calendar is Brazil's true Achilles heel. Brazil's problems are obvious: lack of economic power, an extremely long calendar, corrupt club leadership, and outdated coaching. Even with all these problems, the national team consistently heads into the World Cup as one of the favorites.

I think there's a problem in brazilian football but it's not connected to the players. Brazil is still the biggest talent pool in the world, with some distance to everyone else. What is surprising is the lack of first class coaches. Brazil used to excel in coaching up until 15, 20 years ago. Now go and look for a brazilian coach in a mid class european club; you can't find it, there's no one really. On the other hand, give a top 50 european coach the access to the brazilian talent pool and you will see what happens. Flamengo is a good example of that (a good european coach was given some time to work that team out and that was a success overnight). The problem is clesrly there. On the coaching. Brazilian league coaches are hostil to foreign coaches by default, making as much as they can to protect their own space. The fact that players leave early is not a big issue (so many national teams performed well despite of that, even Brazil in 2002 or 1994); provided that you have someone that can select them properly to the national team, and give the team a good gaming strategy. That's what's obviously missing in the brazilian national team. So, this analysis misses the whole point, in my view. In any case, things are starting to change; not only Tite is clearly the only brazilian coach that is close to top european level, but the recent success of Flamengo forced people to look with a different eye to foreign coaches. If they get this right they will be back to the right place for a country with 5 million registered football players and many million more starting their skills development as kids playing ball on the streets, which is number one footballing national team in the World.

I'm Brazilian, and here's the main problem: Tactical. Brazil has stopped in time when it comes to the tactical evolution of the game. Just take a look at the managers of the national team, the last one, Tite, was the "less worse" in relation to others. Brazil won in 94 and 2002 not based on their collective game, but in the individual quality of a time with Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, Cafu and so on. But, Footbal has changed a lot since then, the collective is superior to the individuality. Our way of play is ugly, old, pragmatic. What Brazil need is a good manager. ( sorry for my English )

I think it's because possession football is now part of modern international football. Passing, having high possession and pressing hard is what usually works nowadays in international football or playing deep and counter attacking FAST is also effective in international football nowadays. But Pure Brazilian samba style just doesn't work anymore unfortunately. They need to change and adapt their style to a more modern possession based style and pressing hard while they can still try to keep their Brazilian flair and identity.

What is more important tactical understanding of the game is developing with a huge speed and guess where it happens! 😉 Basically I see no options for non-European countries to win a world cup, unless they would have such generation of players like Brazil did in 2002. Let’s hope Tite will be able to build a great team for 2022.

Belgium did not dismantle Brazil first half hour they scored 2 and were on top. But did you see the whole game? Belgium couldn't get out in the 2nd half Brazil battered them and should have had a peno.

I didn't understand anything about the video because I don't speak English (Google translator), but I'll tell you what happened to football here. Brazilian football was never very serious, it was a fun game, but it started to become a commercial product, the players left very early to play European football, started to have a lot of money and little passion. Brazilians lost their ginga and fun and were mechanical. That was the reason

@Kevin Martinez Tú tem nome de BR, mas vou responder... Kkkkk Ginga is what we call our football / dance style. It is part genetic and part learning ... A dance game. There is no way for the boy to create this by playing in European football at a very young age, football there is very technical and has less passion. We call the European style quadrado (square). Understood?

Here is the number one and probably only reason in my opinion.... Our players leave to Europe and other places way too young to create roots with the national team or even Brazil itself. Many of the young talents leave Brazil and their development is shaped by another country and culture, and of course a different way of playing football. Anybody remembers Anderson that played for man United? He was a very skillful player, loved attacking, went to England and was ridiculously turned into a defensive midfielder. Things like this are undermining their growth, and unfortunately it’ll probably keep happening.

Decline?? Theyve been in the kockout stages consistently since 2002 lol? Football is just competitive. Other people are gonna win sometimes. Doesnt mean theyve "declined"

In my opinion, it's not that Brazil in particulat declined, it's that the gap between high and middle nations is very reduced now In Europe, look at that : Wales go to the Euro 2016 semi finals, France and Croatia go to the world cup finals... And 6 months later, none of them go to the Nations League's Final 4 : Switzeland was in, like Netherlands who failed to go to the World Cup !! Italy wasnt at the World Cup and then they are qualified with 30 points for Euro ! Even the "always winning" Germany failed these last years And I'm not agree about Belgium v Brazil, the brazilians were the best team after the 30 firsts minutes, by far. They finishes their World Cup here, but they could do better

European money destroyed Brazilian football. Up till the 70s Brazilian football was treated like a Top Secret, nowadays Bralian football isn't feared like it was because the players are seen at least twice a week playing in some part of Europe. Sad and heartbreaking. I'm from the UK by the way and I'm not happy that money has destroyed the best kept secrets in football. Most if not all the Brazilian squad up till the 70s, played in Brazil. I can't blame the Brazilian players though. I blame greedy European TV money.

The Brazil world cup squad of 2014 just didn't have the quality to win the tournament. There were only 2 world class player in that squad- Neymar and Thiago Silva. And when these two didn't play, they were destroyed by Germany. Oscar, Marcelo and Maicon were average. The likes of Hulk and Fred were just atrocious. The coach should have selected Coutinho and Robinho.

Europe buys Brazilian talent brainwash them to play European style and benches them. That way Brazil won't have a strong team like they use to that plays samba. Not sure they even play one of the most effective style football in Brazil league again which was samba. The few players that play the samba style are the ones that are playing the best .Europe did a good job dismantling the most successful football style because it was too good.

Brazilian players used to stay in Brazil till there early 30s, players like zico, Socrates, Junior, Falcao, Cerezo, all stayed and at the end of there career have a couple of seasons abroad, there international team benefited from this, its a shame, the Brazilian stadiums used to be packed out, there half empty now.....

Brasil used to produce "great players" and "good players". Now they just produce "good players". Neymar is the last "great player" Brasil has produced.

People should not confuse Brazil's national team with the club teams in Brazil. Overall Brazil's club teams are less competitive today because they have their top talent poached from Europe, China and many parts of the world. The national team however remains strong given the top players play in the highest levels in Europe and Brazil. So technically speaking the problem remains is not that Brazil has fallen, but the competition world wide is stronger especially from UEFA top teams which are Brazil's competition. Brazil was last world champion in 2002 so in 2022 it will be 20 years since Brazil has not sat in the throne as King. Don't expect Lionel Messi of Argentina or Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal to win any World Cups given they are nowhere as good as Pele was. Neymar could get lucky if Brazil forms a strong team compared to the other previous teams.

But then again Portugal look like a promising team for upcoming euros with players such as Bruno fernandes,Bernardo Silva,Ricardo pereira, joau cancelo,Ruben neves,Andre Silva(18 goals in 20 games in bundseliga this season), jaou felix,Ruben Diaz, diego jota, these are promising players. On the other hand Argentina look less promising with only players such as lautaro Martinez and lo celso

It's an agents league with under the table benefits. If the Brazilian league wasn't so inept they would have lucrative foreign investment to build up a well marketed league.
