The reason why you won’t reach your goals 

Agreed. A breakdown approach helps you achieve your goals for multiple reasons. One, by writing it down it makes it more real. Tangeable in a way. Two, it lets you create a game plan and have a better understand of everything you need to accomplish to reach the overall goal. Three, it helps to keep you motivated or at the very least push yourself to keep working toward the overall goal, but seeing the smaller more achievable steps you need to take in order to reach it. Fourth, as you cross off the smaller achievements toward the main goal, you can measure and see how far you've come and everything you have achieved in reaching the main goal. Five, it gives you a direction and path you need to take to reach your goal. I learned from another creator who pushed himself to learn a new skill (software engineering). He took a college curriculum and found courses, classes, and videos that taught that information. He had a plan and path to follow. He learned everything he needed to learn. And he accomplished it at a fraction of the cost. So, the key here is to understand what you want. Break it down into manageable milestones, and start putting in the time and effort to reach your overall goal.
