Hey, I’m the drow/gyro player in this video. I’m cringing so hard watching how many last hits I miss. Thank you for reviewing our replay. I’ve gain a lot of perspective on how much gold I think I’m ahead getting kills vs playing it safe and farming the guaranteed gold. Also it feels really bad when I sacrifice last hit to get kills but the support ends up getting all the kills and I end up behind. This actually happens quite often and we usually lose those games because I am under farmed.
Hi Zq, thanks for the review! I am the POS 5 player here. I think we have gotten into this rut that we feel killing the enemy is the best way to get ahead in lane, but really looking at the breakdown and reviewing replays we can see that the net worth leads aren't that much. I appreciate the advice and will use it well!
Happy to help! Getting kills is great, you just have to be aware of the opportunity cost of going for kills and how to capitalize on kills you do get. Once you find that balance I'm sure you'll be crushing lanes! And then splitting away from your carry haha
Excellent video. I saw the length and thought I'd watch a few minutes to get the general idea, but ended up sticking around to the end. Your video is rich with information, thank you.
Oh Zach, you made the rest of my week with "We should be this and that and I know it's kinda tough getting trilaned *BUT WE CAN ALSO SEE THAT THEIR TRILANE IS GARBAGE* " I've been playing this Social experiment for more than 12 years now, 85% on the Offlane as a Pos 3 (main) or Pos 4 (second) and it is SO true. YES, I (we are) am getting trilaned/bullied a lot. But it's freaking NOT worth it for them in the long run. either because the line up literally is not suitable OR because the execution of this trilane potential is not so easy to actually do ^^ . Love your channel and the content. Thanks for your efforts. Cheers, and greetings from Europe :-*
I think a bit part of why spectre does well in lower brackets is the team doesn’t constantly surround her. They know she can come into any fight as needed, and that leads to her getting more farmed, but if I play a different hero, I get supports always near me soaking xp because I could get ganked (and half the enemies are in the other side of the map)
yeah, I need support in hard lane like melee vs 2range/2nuker. But I dont need them when it's easy/win lane. The problem is, support will travel when your lane lose, and stay when u win. Unless u can secure kills over and over, there's no reason why support soak XP
50:06 gyro should not have full mana pretty much ever - clear indication he's not abusing his low cooldown spells to accelerate farm. especially with the falcon blade, this just indicates extreme inefficiency. also has clarity + ogre club in backpack - should ditch the tango and branch and should be spamming rocket barrage on camps during clarity regen.
Its what freaks me out so many games… this „we must go together“ And when we die 3-4 guys and someone blinks the dude(s) that are not dead, as if they would change something..
Yeah whenever my team did something stupid and died im instantly getting blamed for not there and dying with them😂😂 like of cuz ur not supposed to rush hg at min 20 without agis
@@qilongli I really don't get these people who casually try to siege hg at 18 minute mark or force taking T2 right after taking T1 when all enemies will be up in 15 seconds. If you have already played enough matches you know that it is the easiest way to make any game harder and it usually doesn't work. But people are still like: "Yes, guys, it is 17 minutes into the match but we can end against Sniper, Shaker and Pudge"... Yes, sure ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Something I notice a lot is people trying to 'force it'. They feel like they 'need' to do things. FORCE high ground pushes, etc. This has been dumb for 18 years. lol.
It was literally my friend's case. He plays 4 or 5, always dies 3 to 4 times pre minute 5 (inting). Get carried by mid or offlane and got to immortal. True story.
Overall it seems like it's important for supports (and other teammates) to give more space for the carry to gain solo farm and xp while making sure you can respond if they get into trouble
Great video as always! I thought you had said you only take replay IDs from your twitch subs now. I thought I had sent one over a month or two ago. Either way, wonderful tip about cost of chasing and sticking to your carry for too long
This is nothing compared to the Necro I just played with. "I stomped my lane early" 0/3/0 vs Alchemist at 10 minutes and nearly 3k gold down 🤣 He and his Legion duo ended the game 0/7/0 until the very last second where they each got an assist or two.
About that play on 23:00.. Wouldn't it be better for the Drow to go back to their lane ASAP instead of sharing farm and XP with everyone there? There are 2 lanes with creeps in tower, I think I would also go back and probably with TP mid. Would that be really bad? ps: for the record, I would never go to this play top..
the rotation is good, but they shouldve taken t1 tower immediately, this is to open up map for drow and create a safer space to farm. but instead he went back to lane without taking objectives so his rotation is pretty much neglible despite killing heroes.
what i do (archon 1 ) sometimes is like what you said pulling even when its 6 min or later on the game. But i do it actually when i have the feeling the carry doesnt know how to play it safe when im leaving him and will just get killed. even if i give him vision.
It would depend on your draft. Typically you would still let the carry farm and the rest of you would play more aggressive to keep maintaining/growing your lead. Just be careful of pushing too soon before hitting the right level/item timings. Grouping too soon can allow the enemy to split and outfarm you to catch up, so you have to find the right balance based on the drafts
I think you made an inefficient video. The guys asked why they lose games when they win lanes. And it was quite obvious that they won their lane in the first video. You spent 30 min telling them how they can capitalise on winning more out of the winning lane during the lambing period, but they've won the lane for sure and this is not what they've asked. You didn't even look at the late game or end of mid game to actually answer their question. Shit lot of games are lost even when your team is 5k ahead in minute 15, and I guess people want to know more about that. Every video from every high level MMR player speaks of how to win the lane, or win even more during the lane. But the lane phase is 7/8 minutes, and every game is 30+ . If your logic is that every time you win the first 7 minutes you win the game, I believe you aren't really being honest with us. We both know this is not true . So can you provide an answer to what people actually ask you? Why do people win lanes but lose games? Srly no high mmr content creator does that. They always go to your landing phase and tell you what you can improve there. Then you watch any mmr game and you see that who wins the early game decides the our come of the actual game in like 60% of the cases. To ignore what goes wrong or right in the other 40% is highly inefficient and right down stupid.
I understand where you are coming from, but I do feel I am answering his question (maybe not how he or others watching might expect). It's not that late-game choices aren't also important, but even in a long video like this, there's only so much time I could talk about every single possible example of how to win a game. Every single game starts with the lane and it's the most in your control, that's why so many high level players start there. The focus of this video being the transition from lane to early game is also very important to set yourself up for down the line. For any rank in Dota over the course of hundreds to thousands of game, in my opinion, you're more likely to win a game that you're ahead in the early game compared to behind. So when trying to improve MMR, it's easier and more effective to focus on the early game rather than try to imagine how to comeback from situations that you aren't supposed to be in if you play correctly. In your own words, we're focusing on the 60% majority over the 40% However, I do know many games are decided in the late game, that's the focus of other videos. For example, here's a 55 minute video going through tons of mid/late game opportunities ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PEjMtwLfXJc.html This player left it very open to what advice I would give him. Whoever gets picked next, if that player would like specific focus on mid/late game plays, then I'll focus on that in future videos. Next video can be LOSE LANE WIN GAME if people would like to leave some match IDs!
heya ZQ, I'm a long time league player (since 2011) who started really playing dota this year. I've recently started ranked and while I feel like I am doing well, but I know I there is definitely room for improvement. If you could give me a review of this match I would really appreciate it. My goal is to hit Archon playing mostly support by the end of the year. match id: 8002711606
