My husband and I both went to college and graduated. We did not encourage any of our five home schooled children to go to college. Our daughters are raising and home schooling their children, and our sons are either in trades or planning to attend Bible college in the fall and going into ministry. The son going into ministry has been working in food service for several years to save the money for that college education. All five have excelled at jobs they've had and mastered several skills.

We should be able to work together like we are supposed to so we can give our next generations aa world worth living in

My younger son decided to go to Lineman College. They were his heroes during our hurricane seasons. I applauded his well-thought out choice: immediate and useful employment, astonishingly high pay, and no education debt, but the point hit me hard that my friend group went on and on about their children going to Princeton, fancy-schmancy design schools, Georgia Tech and how fabulous they are, and blahblahblahblahblah. Gotta say, as an designer and artist who always wished I’d gone to a fancy-schmancy school (because, let’s face it, that’s the main determinate for success in the “art world”: connections to the “right” school.) I am ashamed to admit that it took me a bit to not care. The boy speaks 3 languages. He plays violin. He reads the most amazing stuff for FUN. Education is wayyyyyyyy more than a receipt for sure. Keep learning. Explore. I would flatter myself that my sons learned that from their dad and me. But life takes you to astonishing places when you keep learning.

One particular study done with Ivermectin and covid, the ones doing the study looked at death rates in MILD covid cases (which only rarely if ever end in death) and concluded that Ivermectin made no difference. Well duh, there weren't going to be deaths either way! They didn't look at recovery time, length of severity, long-term effects, or anything else a rational person might have wanted to look at. They had an agenda and set up their study to reinforce that agenda, not to search for truth or understanding. That's not a scientific study, that's just propaganda.

When Whitaker was announced as the next Doctor, I was on a FB page and there was a logical, respectful discussion going on about it. People were very definitely for it or against, but were arguing based on lore, story, etc. Then they showed up and the discussion degenerated into "ANYONE WOMAN WHO DOESN'T SUPPORT THIS CASTING IS NOT REALLY A WOMAN AND NEEDS TO BE BANNED!" Yes. Sigh. I grew up watching Dr Who on PBS over our antenna. It was one of 3 channels we got lol. I haven't really watched it since halfway through Capaldi. I tried a couple with Jodi just to be fair and see for myself and the writing was so bad and it was so over the top preachyI haven't turned it on since. I still miss Dr Who. I watch the rerurns of the old episodes on Pluto TV, which is pretty fun. In my mind, the show ended after Matt. And Yes, they do not allow civil discourse at all about it. If you're waiting for a president or any government to save us, you're going to be waiting a while. Hope Trump wins, I really do, but we, the people, are the only ones that can fix this. It really is up to all of us

Biden has historically supported unjust policies that adversely affected the well-being of lower class urban Americans. Furthermore, he's been in support of _every_ war that our country has entered since he got into politics. He and Hillary are warmongers, and I tend to dislike that in current world leaders. God forbid Biden dies and Harris becomes president. Haven't seen a history as dark as hers in a while. Between the unjust prosecutions, corruption, and cover-ups, that is NOT a person who should be ANYWHERE _near_ a public office. While I'm not a big fan of Trump, he checks a handful of my bare minimum boxes for support: - Avoids war - Makes peace with our enemies - Prioritizes our nation's economic well-being above his supporter's business interests Our tax-payers have been persistently pimped out by corrupt politicians for big business interests for far too long. And I'm siding with the guy who isn't _explicitly_ an ally of those folk. Both parties do it, but Trump isn't a politician. He's at least got a little bit of integrity, and the fact that he IS one of those business types means their tactics won't work on him, they have _nothing_ to offer, no incentive to warp him with. He already has his business empire. His brand is powerful. And, for better or worse, he's so danged hard-headed that he isn't able to be manipulated as easily. He knows the game because he plays it. Say what you will about that, but I like a leader who's interests are front and center and who doesn't deviate from them. Biden is _literally_ led around like a dog on a leash at this point. You can see it in his public appearances. They guide him to the stage, they tell him where to look, write down what he's supposed to say, lead him off. I actually watched a video where he couldn't find his way after a speech. He just hobbled around like my dementia-ridden grandpa did in the grocery store back when he was alive. One of his people leaned in, said something to him, then he started turned back towards the cameras again. *And everyone's just standing around smiling and clapping like it's a normal appearance.* That isn't freaking normal. It's heart-wrenching. I might not like the guy. Hell, he might even deserve it. But I can't help but feel sorry for him when I see that. Let the man rest. Nobody should be willing to use another human being like that, and the fact that an _entire_ political campaign endorses this kind of manipulative abuse of a quite evidently sick man is... I don't even have words.

What the job description says is not the same thing as who they'll hire. Most companies will hire a competent worker with no degree regardless of what the job description says. I've never heard of a company dismissing relevant life experience outside of maybe some fluff govt/education job.

Thelma and Louise is a highly successful feminist film which provides cathartic relief to women who may have faced injustices by the hands of womanizing men. However, the mainline of the Star Wars movies is not the place for a feminist story. The films disrespect the male characters with which the audience have already formed deep parasocial relationships with. Watching Luke Skywalker get disrespected and emasculated on screen quite literally killed a part of the soul of every single male fan that looked up to him as a child. For me, it was like watching my father have his balls stepped on by a vindictive man-hater. In the sequels, Luke must be portrayed as the patriarch of the galaxy. The creators actually don't have a choice in the matter if they want to create an acceptable product. Of course, a feminist film can't have a benevolent patriarch, so the feminist narrative structure is simply out of place. This is not to say that a feminist story can't be told within the Star Wars universe, just not in the main series of films as they were not set up that way from the start. For example, while the story of Asoka Tano, Anakin's Padawan, does not exactly fit the feminist narrative structure, her story through the animated Star Wars: the Clone Wars, is a story of female empowerment, and it is masterfully carried out. Asoka goes from a bratty annoyance to one of the greatest duelists the Jedi order had ever seen, and she fricken earned it.
