The Reem is gona show Rogers what striking really is.. all the respect in the world to Rogers, tough guy, good power, seems like a good guy, but the Reem has striked with the best of them
I have a lot of respect for Overeem, but don't forget that Shogun Rua knocked him out twice. Styles make fights. Any good experienced mixed martial artist has a chance to beat a champ with the right fight plan. He definitely is the man to beat don't get me wrong, but don't underestimate an experienced and dangerous warrior like Fedor. He's been around, proved he can come back from an ugly situation and finish the fight.
AO and AA are gonna fucking DESTROY tonite!!!! Ubereem is a Beast an so is Andrei, thats a fight I wanna see as much a AO n Fedor get it on. Three of my fav. fighters OAT, so I cant wait gonna be a great couple months of fights, an thats just in Strikeforce!!!
@ryukenshoryuken It's true, but boxing cause more LONGTERM damage, because fighters get hit a lot more in the face, and the stupid count to 10 rule, where a nearly koed fighter can get up again, to get hit even more.
@flatjack86 Well Reem-Beta was the prototype, this is the finished product. They took a LHW fighter and added Reem-B plus enhancements. Now he will fight Brett and then the Ultimate Cyborg the Ruassian version of Reem...
@ElSteenbo Fedor was in strikeforce with Overeem, Brock fight didnt happen and Couture retired in 2011 so he may not have even been retired when that comment was made so the comment wasnt too bad at the time. So please do some research before you comment.
@NearlyFreeSpeech You're definitely in the minority there. I like K-1 but Kickboxing has been dead for years. It's only got a cult following here in the USA. MMA is the fastest growing sport in the world. It's the future of combat sports. I'd like to see Overeem do both MMA and K-1. It would be great to see him win a K-1 WGP but also fight the Top HWs in MMA.
this guy is really good but I feel that if he went into the ufc he would do well but i dont think he has the chin to deal with cains, jds even mirs striking power i think his glass jaw is holding him back same as rashad even if he does beat shogun he wont hold the belt long due to his class chin i mean he was rocked by thiago rampage machida/knocked out
@13Azzinoth37 just like I said in my previous comment - not denying there's a big difference, I just wanted to clarify that "20 times heavier" exaggeration in case someone takes it seriously ;)
@ryukenshoryuken those "big ass" gloves weigh about 20 times more than MMA gloves. It is hard not to gas in the first 2 seconds of a round wearing them. You should stay away from whoever is capable to knock people out wearing boxing gloves.
@Svet69 While I agree that it's much more difficult to knock somebody out wearing boxing gloves (especially in only 3 rounds) you definitely exaggerated their weight :) Fighters over 70kg usually use 10oz gloves during kick boxing fights, while MMA gloves are 4oz. So as you can see it's only 2,5 times bigger, not 20 times ;) But anyway, good luck to Overeem! While I hope to see a war (and wouldn't mind 25min fight, I think he's gonna finish it quickly). WAR Ubereem!
why is it that 90% of american fans dont know about any mma fighters or kickboxers unless they have fought in the US? fans everywhere else know pretty much everyone.
@kai0shin pffft no chance wtf would he do use his o so predictble left kick? which would never connect on some1 like overeem overeem would knock mirko out cold mirko was never even a k1 champ nor very sucesful hence he made the switch to mma where he got some popularity because he could out strike and eventually knock out wrestlers with his left kick..
@adob0streak Obviously he could have taken steroids to build up some muscle, then stopped well before the tests in order to pass. But... I mean is it really beyond the realm of possibility that he might not have been taking them? I've put on about ten pounds of muscle in about nine months, so surely a guy who has at least a million, is naturally bigger than me and has far more effective and efficient training can put on 20lbs in the space of 18 months.
The UFC is a private company... there is no stocks. They shouldn't merge, but should co promote. One promotion means fighters have only one place to fight, so either they accept the contract given my the monopoly, or they don't fight. Bad news. TheMarc your comment was totally uneducated and stupid.
@jkl0031 going from 235 lbs to 255 in 2 1/2 years isnt 'outrageous' as you say. body builders at their peak are actually very weak. therefore those kind of roids wouldnt work for mma. brock has the legs of a ballerina and the puffy upper body of an ex-roid junky. overeem is cut and even throughout.
@claudiodz wtf this has just nothing to do whit white or black im white and a big fan of evereem just think a lil before u say things about color overeem rulezzz
